BOTSWANA TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY | 4x4 Safari Road Trip feat. Victoria Falls

Follow us on our road trip safari through southern Africa's wildlife paradise Botswana. We drove through most of Botswana, including all the wildlife-rich areas like the Moremi Game Reserve, Chobe Nationalpark including the Chobe Riverfront and the Kalahari. We explored the Makgadikgadi salt pans in the center of the country, the Gcwihaba Caverns in the West and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in the south. We also shortly ventured into Zimbabwe to marvel upon the majestic Victoria Falls. We were lucky enough to spot most of the big, and many small, animals which call Botswana home. These include elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, kudus, oryx, ostriches, honey badgers, bat-eared foxes, serval cats, warthogs, springboks, impalas and many more.

Namibia Self Drive 4x4 Road Trip - April 2019

Video summary of our 2 week road trip around Namibia; Maun - Sossusvlei - Walvis Bay - Swakopmund - Cape Cross - Skelaton Coast - Palmwag - Etosha (Dolomite - Okaukuejo - Halali - Onkoshi) - Erindi, plus a bit of R+R and a lot of wine in Cape Town. A massive amount of driving on dirt/sand/gravel/salt roads but an epic adventure!

Destination Film || 10 day Botswana Self Drive 2019

A month ago myself and two friends set off on a 10 day self drive trip through some of Botswana.

We drove up from Johannesburg spending time in Nata, Nxai Pan, Maun and a very small piece of the Okavango Delta.

Our main reason for the trip was to attend the Okavango Music Festival. A music festival that contributes to uplifting the Tsutsubega rural community. Although the gathering was small in size, it was alive with people from around the globe, young and old. We met many people from Gaborone, Zimbabwe, Europe and even some fellow South Africans. We danced our asses off, sipped St Louis beers as the sun went down and basked in the African sun.

The trip was unique for me in that it was my first time on a Safari since I was 11 years old. It was also my first time in any African Country other than South Africa. And what can I say, it's love at first sight.

I can not wait to get back into Africa, to meet more kind souls and hear more stories of the past around campfires.

The places we stayed at were:
Nata Lodge by @Underonebotswanasky
Nxai Pan by @kwandosafari
Sitatunga Camp by @Deltarain

Our Mokoro safari was through @Deltarain and I HIGHLY recommend them.

Hope you enjoy my recap!

Namibia, Botswana, Caprivi (Okavango Delta) and the Kalahari on 4x4 self drive safari

We embarked on a 4x4 expedition (safari) driving a loop from South Africa into Namibia exploring the Caprivi Strip in our trusty Toyota Landcruiser 76. We exited into Botswana and returning back into eastern Namibia. We saw a lot of game and considered this to be one of the last untamed great wilderness areas of Africa. Our mission was to reach the Linyanti river in the Landcruiser and it was possible this time because of the drought in 2019.
We stayed in some of what we considered some of the greatest camping experiences. To name a few Nambwa Campsite One of our favourites under the Jackalberry Tree, Mashi River safaris for Hippos and sunsets, Livingston camp and Onguma PGR, Guma Lagoon Camp, Ngepi, Drotsky Camp, Kalahari Game Lodge and Kgalagadi National Park.
One of the highlights was a Mokoro trip into the Okavango Delta.
This video has drone footage.
We passed through many game parks - Etosha Na.tional Park, Bwabwata National Park, Kwando Core Area, Mudumu Game Reserve, Lyinyanti Swamp, Nkasa Rupara Nkasa Lupara,,Okavango Delta Pan Handle.

Animals we saw - A special note for bird lovers this is a birder paradise. (ornithologists)
Buffalo, lion, Hippos, lots of Elephants, cheetah, waterbuck, sable antelope Kudu, springbok, impala, hyena, crocodile.

Botswana self drive guided with 4x4ventures: Stage2

#4x4ventures continues the adventure and takes you into the more wild parts of #Botswana.

Stage 2 of the adventures sees us travel from Planet Baobab to Maun, and on wards to South Gate at the entrance to the #Moremi Reserve.

We take a rest day, with some great game viewing, and a potjie (South African Beef Stew), full of the good stuff.

On wards we travel to the Magotho campsite, which is part of the Khwai Community trust. This will be the highlight to your next trip - a fantastic place. Another rest day as we soaked the wilderness in, at every corner, eyes wide open, we encounter scenes shown on post cards. A place every adventurer must experience.

Stay tuned for Stage 2 episode 2, where we pick up on day 8 and travel northwards o the wilderness that is the Linyanti.

Namibia and Botswana self drive safari 2019

In august and september 2019 we did a 4x4 self drive roadtrip/safari through Namibia and Botswana. We planned our trip (see route below), we hired a Toyota Hilux 4X4 with 2 roof tents and equipment and hit the road.

We drove almost 5000km's, had flat tires, we got stuck in the sand (several times), we launched the car, we had to hustle 20liters of diesel and most of all we had some exciting but beautiful encounters with wildlife. That is all part of the adventure. This was one of the best trips we did so far.

Our planning/route:
Day 1: Windhoek- Rehoboth (96 km)
Day 2: Rehoboth – Sesriem (237 km)
Day 3: Sesriem - Deadvlei- Cha-re (248km)
Day 4: Cha-re- Windhoek- Groot Tinkas (384km)
Day 5: Groot Tinkas- Swakopmund (116km)
Day 6-7: Swakopmund - Cape fur- Swakopmund (242 km)
Day 8: Swakopmund - Weavers Rock (420 km)
Day 9-11: Weavers Rock- Etosha National Park (Halali camp) (+ self drive safari' s)(300km)
Day 12: Hahali – Rundu (N’Kwazi Lodge) (514 km)
Day 13: Rundu – Sangwali (Livingstone’s camp)(471 km)
Day 14-17: Sangwali – Kachikau- Kasane-Kachikau-Kasane-Kachikau (day trips to the Riverfront) (631 km)
Day 18-20: Kachikau – Khwai (Magotho campsite) (+ self drive safari's) (258 km)
Day 21-23: Khwai – Maun (Okavango River Lodge) (210 km)
Day 24: Maun – Ghanzi (Thakadu Bush Camp) (308 km)
Day 25: Ghanzi – Ondekaremba (494 km)
Day 26: Onderkaremba- Windhoek (42km)
