A bustling binaural old market walk in Morocco. This North African market place is called Jemaa el-Fnaa and its the oldest market place of Marrakech in Morocco. This old market area and the adjacent market streets date back to the very beginnings of the city in 1070.
The market place here is busy all day long but really starts to come alive as the sun begins to set and the baking warm temperatures of the day start to cool. This market is busy with both locals and tourists and the experience is a real bombardment of the senses. Voices, sounds, gestures, tastes, smells, every sense is overwhelmed when walking around this ancient location. Shop fronts and stalls are everywhere with people haggling and selling their products at every turn. Amazingly, the narrow streets adjacent to the square are not exclusively pedestrianised and you often find bicycles and motorbikes weaving their way through the thick crowds of people. Unfortunately there are levels of animal cruelty still present in the main square with monkeys on chains dressed up to pose with naive tourists and traditional snake charmers holding out snakes for photos.
The sounds in this video are far from relaxing but offer an immersive experience to what it is like walking around this ancient and fascinating marketplace. Enjoy :)

Jemaa el-Fnaa is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter (old city). It remains the main square of Marrakesh, used by locals and tourists.
The origin of its name is unclear: jamaa means congregation or mosque in Arabic, probably referring to a destroyed mosque on the site. Fnaʼ or fanâʼ can mean death/extinction or a courtyard, space in front of a building. finâʼ in Arabic commonly means open area; a straight translation would be the gathering/congregation area. Other meanings could be The assembly of death, or The Mosque at the End of the World. Another explanation is that it refers to a mosque with a distinctive courtyard or square in front of it. A third translation is assembly of the dead, referring to public executions on the plaza around 1050 CE.

Destination Review & Vlog of Marrakesh - an imperial city in Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces and gardens and ideal for a cultural and romantic holiday. The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry. A symbol of the city, and visible for miles, is the Moorish minaret of 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.
Founded in 1070–72 by the Almoravids, Marrakesh remained a political, economic and cultural centre for a long period. Its influence was felt throughout the western Muslim world, from North Africa to Andalusia. It has several impressive monuments dating from that period: the Koutoubiya Mosque, the Kasbah, the battlements, monumental doors, gardens, etc. Later architectural jewels include the Bandiâ Palace, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Saadian Tombs, several great residences and Place Jamaâ El Fna, (Djema el-Fna) a veritable open-air theatre, square and central market place in Marrakesh's UNESCO World Heritage medina quarter (old city) and a cultural symbol of the city.

للمدينة آثار تاريخية لا تخفى على أحد، فهي مغناطيس جلب الزوار الذين تحتفظ بهم الحمراء، المشهورة بشموسها الصبوحات تارة، والحارقة تارة أخرى، فالمدينة المغربية أسرارها السحرية، صاخبة، مفاجئة، مضيافة، مثيرة، غريبة، وجميلة، بحرمتها المليئة بالألوان.
