New Zealand: The Ultimate Travel Guide by TourRadar 5/5

New Zealand: The Ultimate Travel Guide by TourRadar gives you all the info you need to explore this nation of Kiwis. Learn some basics about the country, including what you have to do & see once you arrive, when it's best to travel and which food & drinks you definitely need to enjoy throughout your journey.
-----------------------------------------------
New Zealand has a lot to offer even the most particular traveller. From the lively neighbourhoods of Wellington to the breathtaking Fiordland of the South Island, there's an adventure tucked away in every corner of this impressive country. Consider living out your own Lord of the Rings adventure in Hobbiton, or hike past Mt. Doom in Tongariro National Park. Not thrilling enough? Then skydive over Auckland, go white water rafting down Kaituna River or take a leap of faith and bungee jump in Queenstown! When you're in New Zealand, nearly ever adventure is only a stone's throw away.

Make the most out of your visit to this remote island nation by assembling your bucket list with our travel guide. Booking a tour will ensure your trip is fun, flawless and stress-free:

New Zealand boasts a temperate climate with plenty of sunshine and moderate rainfall. Because of the long coast line, you can expect mild temperatures for the most part. The average temperature decreases as you travel south; January and February are the warmest months with July being the coldest month of the year. Remember to pack your waterproof hiking boots, waterproof rain jacket, swimsuit, flip flops, thin gloves, hiking socks, sunglasses, and a camera with extra batteries.

New Zealand's currency is the New Zealand Dollar (NZ$). You should expect to be able to switch between cash and cards quite seamlessly, as all major credit cards can be used in New Zealand. Alcohol and restaurant meals can range from moderate to quite expensive so prepare yourself accordingly.

We'd like to thank New Zealand's incredible tourism board for allowing use of their travel footage:

---About New Zealand---

New Zealand, exists on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean and is home to over 4.6 million people, and nearly 30 million sheep.

The country is divided into two portions: the North and South Islands separated by the Cook Strait. The North Island is home to many hot springs and geysers while the South Island is mountainous, forested and covered in glaciers. Over 75% of New Zealanders call the North Island home, and more than 15% of New Zealand's energy comes from renewable resources.

Rotorua Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

Rotorua, New Zealand is positioned amid some of the most stunning and volatile landscapes on earth, and has become a prime spot for adventurous souls. Its volcanic activity makes it a prime spot for hot springs and geysers, and previous geothermal movement has carved impressive landscapes out of the earth.

To truly experience the region’s history, your Rotorua tour should include a stop at Te Wairoa, also called the Buried Village. It was engulfed in soot and ash in 1886 when Mt. Tarawea erupted, and many of the artifacts and buildings that were buried have since been extracted and are on permanent display.

Test your nerves in the grade 5 rapids of the Kaituna River, or hop into a boat for a high-speed cruise through the winding gorges. Looking for an easier adventure? Mount Ngongotaha offers a spectacular view of Lake Rotorua, and you can take a gondola ride up to the top to get a 360-degree view of the area. It’s the perfect place to cap off your day of Rotorua sightseeing.

Round out your day with a soak in one of the many hot springs and plan out your next daring New Zealand adventure.

What will you do in Rotorua?

Visit our Rotorua travel guide page for more information or to plan your next vacation!

Christchurch, New Zealand Travel Guide

If you love scenic mountain ranges, a city with beautiful gardens and great food then Christchurch in New Zealand's South Island should be added to your bucket list.

One of Peter's dreams is to visit Antarctica one day but for now the International Antarctic Centre is as close as we'll get. The International Antartica Center often features on lists for the top things to do in Christchurch New Zealand so come join us as we visit this very unique and cool experience.
Address: 38 Orchard Rd, Christchurch Airport, Christchurch 8052
Hours: Monday - Sunday 9am–5:30pm

Next up it's time for some breakfast. We head over to C1 Espresso in Christchurch Central.
Address: Old Post & Telegraph, Office building 185 High St, Christchurch
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–10pm

With our bodies refueled we find out why Christchurch is also known as the garden city by visiting the famous Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Not only is it free to visit the gardens it is also one of the best places to go for free in Christchurch. Located in Christchurch Central, the Christchurch Botanic Gardens should be added to your things to do in Christchurch list when visiting New Zealand especially if you love plants and nature.
Address: City Centre Rolleston Ave, Christchurch Central, Christchurch 8013
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–9pm

Yen and I have never tried Cambodian food before so we were very excited to discover authentic Khmer cuisine from a family-run operation during our Christchurch visit.
Khmer Cambodian Cuisine
Address: 23A Langdons Rd, Papanui, Christchurch 8053

Finally for an incredible view of the Christchurch skyline as well as Lyttelton Port we headed up to Christchurch Gondola. We've never gone up before but this was one of the most epic views we have ever laid our eyes on to date. It was just breathtaking. We highly recommend this as a must-do activity in Christchurch.
