All stalls and sellers are on the purposely built platform and there are no boat vendors like what we see the floating market in Inle Lake. Therefore the market should be called a riverside market rather than a floating market.

Best Biryani at Shwe Family Restaurant in Pathein ရွှေမိသားစု ဒန်ပေါက် ပုသိမ်
Biryani or spicy rice is a mixed rice dish with its origins among the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent.
It is made with spices, rice and meat (chicken, mutton, beef, prawn, or fish) and vegetables.
Before I left Myanmar, biryani rice with chicken curry was only available on Sunday. The recipe varies from shop to shop and regions by regions. I have tried a variety of biryani rice in the UK but they are not similar to what we eat in Myanmar.
This Shwe Family Restaurant is very popular in Pathein, Myanmar. Therefore I went there with a friend and had chicken biryani rice. It was amazing, nice and very delicious.
It is worth to try when you are in Pathein

Eating tree worms in Yangon, Myanmar
In this video I am eating tree worms in Yangon, Myanmar. I walked along Strand Road where there is a Yangon Street Food Night Market. One of the stands had just one plate with worms moving in a thin layer of water. The seller told me there is normally only 1 worm per tree. I always like to try new culinary things at least once, but for this one I had serious doubts. After looking at them for a couple of minutes which made me even more wary I decided to try anyway. I travelled to Yangon, Myanmar for new experiences and this would be one of them. I paid 2500 kyat per worm. The seller selected the 2 fattest ones and fried them in oil. I have to say the taste was very delicious. They taste to me like large shrimp, they were only more soft on the inside. You eat it all.

Mont lin ma yar or mont oke galay မုန့်လင်မယား or မုန့်အုပ်ကလေး (husband and wife snacks) - Dollops of rice flour batter are added to a large sizzling cast iron pan that resembles a muffin tin. Toppings such as quail eggs, scallions, or roasted chickpeas are added to half of the dollops, and then, like a husband and wife, the two halves are joined to make a little round cake.

Myanmar Street Food 2019 at Pathein Riverside Market in 4K

Myanmar has a variety of snacks depending on the region. Most famous mouth-watering snacks are available in traditional restaurants or on the street. Most snacks are more delicious from the street as the vendors usually specialised in one or a few kinds of snacks.
In Pathein, the capital city of Ayeyarwady Division, there are many street vendors at the Riverside Market and along the Merchant Street starting from 4 pm and along Min Gyi Road from about 1 pm.
The most popular in Pathein as afternoon snacks are pork offal skewer/pig on the stick, various Myanmar traditional and noodle salads, various deep-fried fritters especially buthi kyaw, battered and deep-fried chunks of a gourd.
