IS IT WORTH VISITING SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA? Best things to see & do ????????

Everyone warned us not to come to San Jose because it’s not safe, there’s not much to see, but we decided to give it a shot and see for ourselves what is there to do in Costa Rica’s capital. We are so glad we came because of many reasons, but ESPECIALLY because of the LOCALS (the ticos). You will understand after watching this video why people in Costa Rica are so special…

La Fortuna, Costa Rica Budget Travel Vlog | Arenal Volcano, Rio Celeste, Hot Springs

La Fortuna offers so much variety when it comes to things to do and see in Costa Rica! We spent four days in La Fortuna and enjoyed every minute of it, especially because everything was so affordable! The local food was so flavorful and being immersed in such lush nature was absolutely breath-taking. If you're lucky, you might catch a view of the Arenal Volcano when it's not hiding behind the clouds. We were able to see the sunset over the volcano and it was a sight like no other! La Fortuna is amazing overall. Don't get us started on the waterfalls and the sky blue waters - watch for yourself! If you enjoy this video, please be sure to SUBSCRIBE for future content; we greatly appreciate it!

The Hertz/Firefly Car Rental in San Jose Costa Rica provided the WORST customer service we have ever experienced from a car rental place (They gave away the automatic car we reserved, only gave us an option to drive a manual car which we were unable to do, and even if we were able to drive manual they increased the daily rental price 10-fold).

We recommend you look elsewhere for a car rental ( or check out our truly AMAZING Uber driver and friend named ALEJANDRO who drove us all over Costa Rica.

Watch this video to see how we spent 4 days in Costa Rica for $439/pp. Prices can of course vary depending on dates, and the number of people you travel with. This is just to give you an idea!

【Costa Rica????????】Fist Solo Trip after Covid | Volcano and Waterfall Hike in La Fortuna

I have been wanting to visit Costa Rica since a few years ago but the pandemic pull everyone's travel schedule to a halt. This year, I can finally dive into this Central American country full of national parks, beaches, and biodiversity. After landing in San José, I took a 4-hour local bus ride to La Fortuna, a small town northwest of the capital, where I marveled at the imposing Arenal Volcano and took a dip in the beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall.

ABOUT ME ????????‍♀️
Hello, I am Mackenzie Nelson (22 years old) from Southern California, United States. I am solo travel backpacker graduated online college in 2023. I LOVE vlogging and creating these videos for whoever wants to be inspired, learn new places, or binge travel videos.

FAQ’s ❓
-How do you afford to travel?
I have had 2 jobs since I was 15 years old and made sure to save at least 90% of that for travel and school. I always have a temporary job when I am home but hope to be able to travel full time to consistently make videos!
-Is traveling solo safe?
I want to say the answer to YES! With lots of caution to everything you do and following my ‘basic backpacker rules’ you should be able to remain safe!
See here for my backpacker rules:
-What has been your favorite countries?
I LOVED Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia and Ecuador. I know this is a lot but they are all amazing for backpacking throughout the country, meeting international friends, and keeping to a backpacker budget!

SOLO TRIP TO COSTA RICA

I took a leap and decided to book a trip to a surfing camp in another country. I was nervous to travel alone but it ended up being so worth it and I now feel like I have a renewed sense of confidence in myself and my abilities.

I hope you enjoy this vlog????????
