???? The Strange Land of North Korea (DPRK) ????

⛄ NORTHEAST PASSAGE ON ICEBREAKER ???? -
This is a film about a traveller in the strange land called North Korea or officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Tours to the DPRK are tightly scheduled and normally include a visit to the demilitarised zone, museums and statues to Kim Il-Sung and Kim Jong-Il, Pyongyang’s amusements parks, chandelier-laden metro system and showcase entertainment facilities such as the Circus and the SchoolChildren's Palace. In addition to these, I took a flightseeing flight on a Mi-17 helicopter over the DPRK's capital city of Pyongyang. As well, as my tour was an extended one, it also went the northeast of the DPRK to the tri-country area around the Rason Special Economic Zone where the DPRK, China and Russia conjoin.

The cult of the Kims is perhaps the most extraordinary feature of the DPRK. Images or statues of Kim Il-Sung and Kim Jong-Il are found everywhere. These graven images are effectively worshipped. This film shows scenes of the veneration of the Kims (Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il) that were witnessed.

The government guides control both what you can see and also what you can take photographs of. If you take a photograph of the military, construction or something that they feel does not portray the DPRK in a positive light then they force you to delete the photograph. On exiting the country, the border guards also reviewed photographs to see if they conformed to the aforementioned standards. Despite these restrictions, this film contains images that accurately portray the state of the country as I saw it.

My LIFE in NORTH KOREA - a TRIP to PYONGYANG!

North Korea has been on my list for years and finally I made it. This short VLOG should give you a little impression of what it is like to travel to the DPRK or better known as North Korea.

I went on a 3-days tour starting in Dandong, China. I went with Young Pioneer Tours and it was an incredible experience.

I don't have an opinion on whether it was staged or not, whether they are bad or good, or how I feel about the whole trip. I went to the DPRK as a tourist and for a cultural exchange. From human to human, without a political agenda.

In today's video, I share my honest thoughts with you about North Korea after 4 years since my visit... I didn't mention in the video that I am one of the very last Americans to step foot in the country because a few months after I left, all Americans were banned from visiting (which is still in effect today).

I often think about North Korea and I wanted to take this time to re-tell my story, share my thoughts, and also get some feedback from you. What are your opinions about North Korea? Would you ever visit North Korea?

I had to fly out of the Pyongyang airport and needed two North Korean guides to take me there. Then when I arrived, the airport was completely empty and I was the only one inside. Bizarre experience with Air Koryo flying me back to Beijing.

Trip to NORTH KOREA / DPRK???????? [조선민주주의인민공화국] ‖ GoPro ????

No comments, no adventurous documentary, no political stuff, just a normal travel video like all my others!
I'm aware that there is another side of this country than this ;-) But have you ever seen this side of the country?

This one was particularly challenging to make since you are not allowed to just wander around on your own and take pictures wherever you want. So I hope you like the result! :-)

This was a tour group organized by Korea Konsult, we entered and exited through the Friendship Bridge from Dandong, China.
감사합니다 to everyone we met along this tour!

Stepping into a Forbidden Country: Our DMZ Tour Experience

What's it like to step inside the forbidden country of North Korea? We're taking you to the most intense border on the planet... the DMZ at the 38th parallel dividing North and South Korea. This is the very scene of defections and conflicts since the 1950s. We're going on a tour inside the famous blue buildings at Panmunjom, where we stare face to face with the enemy. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and we'll show you how to do it right in this episode of @windowseatworldtravel

My Visit To North Korea: A Tourist's Perspective

This is a short documentary about my time spent as a tourist in North Korea: what I did, what I saw and some thoughts along the way.

I am aware that all tours to North Korea are heavily organised and pre-planned, and it is likely that the things I saw were not representative of life in North Korea.

There is a lot of controversy around tourism to North Korea, and I completely understand why. However, I personally believe that tourism helps to keep the citizens connected to the outside world somewhat. I feel that progression could never occur if the country was to be completely segregated.

Please do leave a comment below as I would love to hear your feedback and thoughts on North Korea in general!

Foreigner Travels NORTH KOREA (Unbelievable 4 Days) ????????

Part 2 is here:

North Korea Travel Vlog! I spent 4 days in North Korea in 2019, this is what I experienced. Highlights include the Pyongyang metro, the monuments, seeing the country side, driving through the cities and watching the mass games. North Korea is a very closed country and not many western tourists go. This is my very first travel video and everything was shot and edited on an old Samsung galaxy 7, so please have realistic expectations. It’s more about capturing the journey as opposed to cinematic quality. Thanks all for watching my travel channel
