Chinese Street Food Islam - Muslim Chinese Street Food - Street Food China
I made my way to Lanzhou, in search of the best Chinese street food and halal Chinese muslim food. I found a ton of street food and specialty halal snacks. Lanzhou is in the northwest of China, close to the far west Xinjiang province, and is home of the Hui people, and the food is fantastic! There was a lot of Chinese street food and Islam muslim Chinese cuisine. Just like you, I love street food around the world, and I travel for food. I came here to eat!

Street food in China is something I'm always looking to find more of! So I flew to Lanzhou, China and have been trying Chinese Muslim Hui Halal Street food non stop. Best Street Food in China I've tasted! The Chinese food is so good in Lanzhou! I've eaten street food in Bejing, street food in Shanghai, street food in Chengdu, and street food in Hong Kong, all of which has been amazing, but I have to say that the chinese street food in Lanzhou has been some of the best!
When you think of China, you probably don't think of Islam and Halal food, but that's exactly what you'll find in the Northwest. I made my way for a food trip to the dusty and bustling classic Silk Road city of Lanzhou specifically to try the unique halal food of the Hui people. This is the side of China not many people see, and I came here to have an authentic travel experience through food. I found a lot of food reminiscent of countries further west, with insane amounts of lamb and beef leaving me absolutely speechless.

Chinese Street Food on the Ancient Silk Road - Muslim Chinese Street Food - Street Food China
We made our way to Xining, on the Ancient Silk road, to try the best Chinese street food and halal Chinese Muslim food. We began our journey in Chengdu, and took a 24 hour slow train to Xining. We came to try a ton of street food and specialty halal street snacks. Xining is located in the northwest of China, in Qinghai province, which isclose to the far west Xinjiang province, our ultimate destination of Kashgar. Xining is home to the Hui people along with a sizable population of Tibetans, and the food was fantastic! There were a lot of Chinese street food and Islam muslim Chinese cuisine. Just like you, I love street food around the world, and I travel for food. I came here to eat!

Street Food in China and Street Food around the world is worth traveling for! You won’t believe the street food you can try in western China, it is unbelievably delicious! The BEST street food for sure! We made our way deep past Kashgar to the animal market every Sunday to try out the local uighur street food specialties, and had an amazing travel experience eating as much as we could! Everything from Pilaf, Hand Pulled Noodles, Kebabs, and so much more!
This is definitely one of the most unique places I’ve been for a street food tour before. The people are so friendly too!

Islam came to Xi'An, China from the Muslim traders who did business along the silk road thousand of years ago. Their descendants are called the Hui people.
And today, there is a big Hui Muslim community in Xi'An.
We went to Muslim Street in Xi'an, China, lined with delicious Halal street food.
We also visited one of the oldest Mosque in China, the Xi'An Grand Mosque.
How are the Muslims treated in China? Are the Chinese Muslims happy?
Are the Chinese Muslims allowed to practice their religion freely?
Is Islam banned in China? Is religion banned in China?
What we saw was different than the stories we heard on western media.

In this Chinese Street Food Tour of Tianjin, China, we're taking you for a FULL ON Chinese Breakfast Tour of Tianjin, China! This is the ULTIMATE Chinese food BREAKFAST city in China! There are hundreds of street food stalls all throughout Tianjin, and also many muslim halal Chinese street foods to try as well!

Get ready to EAT! China has some of the best street food around the world, and in Tianjin, there are hundreds of varieties of street food in China to try!
In Tianjin, there is both Muslim Chinese street food (Halal or Islamic street food) and also the standard Chinese street food. Both are delicious. The muslim Chinese street food is cooked by Hui Chinese, an ethnic minority in China that also has a wonderful cuisine. In this video, we sample some Muslim Chinese street food cooked by the hui people and also some standard Chinese street food. This is why I think food in China is the best, there is so many foods to try!
First, we're going DEEP into a little alleyway to try the most famous Chinese street food breakfast in Tianjin, the Guobacai! The guobacai is a famous Tianjin snack, and we found a very delicious stall to try it at! The one we had was served halal street food style (made by Hui Chinese muslims) and was very delicious! It has green bean curd tofu, peppery spices, 5 spice blend, and lots of chili oil and cilantro!

Next up, we're going to try the FAMOUS Tianjin Jianbing Guozi! The Jianbing guozi is now famous all over the world, but it's home is from tianjin, and it doesn't get any better here! We found it at a local little Chinese street food stall right on the side of the street in Tianjin!
The location was around the Tianjin Nandasi mosque.
After this, we're going even DEEPER into the local alleyways of Tianjin and finding a few more muslim Chinese breakfasts. The first is the Tianjin Chunjuan, a spring roll made with bean sprouts, fermented tofu, and sesame paste! It's truly a very unique flavour! It was in the same muslim Chinese neighbourhood.
The next is the famous Chinese street food MIANCHA found at a stall right next door. The miancha is a millet and rice porridge covered with sesame paste and cracked sesame seeds. It is one of the best street food in China to try! You will love it! I gave it a solid 10 out of 10!
And after this, we're going to the FAMOUS Baozi FACTORY restaurant in Tianjin, the ergu baozi restaurant! Tianjin has some of the BEST Baozi in the world! And here at ergu baozi, the baozi is packed with juice, just like from a xiaolongbao!
And to finish our Chinese street food tour of Tianjin, China, we're going for a FAMOUS Tianjin noodle dish, the laomian! This is a buckwheat noodle topped with a ton of different toppings of your choice!

This is our first time in Xi'an and already the street food here is INCREDIBLE! Xi'an street food is predominately muslim Chinese food! We taste spicy and mouth-numbing Chinese food such as beef pancakes, thick beef soup and more halal street food!
Besides eating in Xi'an there is lots of attractions including the Old City Wall of Xi'an, China which we visit in this video! The food here in Northern China is a lot different than what we are used to trying in Taiwan, we love all the bread and spices used in this unique and UNUSUAL Chinese food!

Everything was really cheap, ad the locals, who are Uighurs, are really friendly. I can't speak uighur language, so I got by with mandarin, but it would have been better to study a little uighur beforehand. Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience to visit turpan in Xinjiang, China, to taste the delicious and unique street food!

Today’s episode in Kyrgyzstan is very special. We are exploring the cultures, traditions and cuisine of the Muslim Chinese communities in Kyrgyzstan. The two ethnic communities are the Uyghurs and the Dungans. Both groups have their own unique history and come from very different places in China, but many Uyghurs and Dungans have resettled throughout Central Asia, bringing their culture with them.
We are starting the day by visiting a local market in Karakol. Here, there is an alleyway that is lined with stalls serving Ashlan fu. Ashlan fu is a cold noodle & starch dish, with tomato, eggs, herbs, chilies, and vinegar drizzled over top. It is a Dungan specialty.
Nearby, we visited the Dungan Mosque. Although this building has many characteristics of a Chinese temple on the outside, it resembled a mosque on the inside. The mosque was originally constructed in 1910 without the use of nails.
We then went to a local Uyghur family’s home for lunch. The family welcomed us with tea and started preparing Uyghur food. The first dish was Suyuk ash, which is a Uyghur handmade noodle soup. The next dish was a hot salad, fried eggs with peppers and ju cai (Chinese chives).
Next up, the family prepared 3 different types of manti - beef, ju cai, and pumpkin. These were all prepared by hand and steamed in baskets. And for dessert, the family kindly prepared Sangza, which is Uyghur fried dough twists.
It was truly a wonderful opportunity to spend time with this Uyghur family, and sharing a meal with them. We would like to give a massive thank you to Farhat and his family for hosting us and making such delicious Uyghur dishes.

Halal Street Food in China is some of the best Islamic Chinese Street Food I've tasted, ( like delicious noodles and kebabs) , and this is just the beginning of our Journey n the Chinese Silk road!

We made our way to Turpan, in China's Xinjiang province, for the beginning of our Silk Road tour, all the way from Chengdu, and found a whole new world awaiting us. You can feast for days on new street food specialties all from the Uighur people and Hui People in China's northwest. In the past month, we flew from Guangzhou, where we filmed amazing Cantonese street food specialties near Hong Kong, all the way to Chengdu. Then, we spent a week exploring and eating delicious Sichuan cuisine and made a video about Szechuan sauce in a local farmers market. We then took the train to Xining, a city with a large Hui Chinese population, and enjoyed some delicious Hui Halal Street food. Unfortunately, the street food videos from Xining may not be retreived, we will have to wait and see.
After Xining, we took the high speed train to Turpan, which is where we currently are enjoying Uighur street food. We are going to continue the silk road journey through the southern Taklamakan desert route all the way to Kashgar! Please stay tuned because there are a lot of delicious street food videos coming your way!

In this episode, I visited a muslim town near Jianshui in Yunnan Province.
Shadian is only 1 hour away from Jianshui, and it inhabits 100 percent Hui minorities.
Shadian mosque is said to be the biggest mosque in south-eastern China, and it is quite impressive. Coming back from Shadian, I visited the halal night market in Jianshui.

This is our 2nd episode from our Taiwan Street Food series. In today’s episode, we are focusing on Muslim-friendly, Halal Certified restaurants and food in Taipei. It can be difficult for travellers to find good quality Taiwanese food, or any food that is halal in Taiwan. We include an authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup, an Indonesian meal in little Indonesia and an awesome fried chicken stall, all HALAL certified!
We start our day with delicious halal Taiwanese beef noodle - tender beef chunks and hand cut noodles in a rich broth, and beef dumplings, which are uncommon in Taiwan. We ordered their braised beef noodle with a red, oily broth and the beef dumplings were rich and juicy (130 NTD / USD $4.32 for beef noodles — 60 NTD / USD $1.99 for plate of dumplings). This restaurant is Halal Certified and there is also another halal restaurant next door.
Our next Muslim-friendly meal brought us close to Taipei Main Station, where you’ll find a neighbourhood called Little Indonesia. This is a network of small alleys full of Indonesian warungs serving up halal food with a Taiwanese twist. We went into the local restaurant which looked more like a home kitchen. We ordered one of our favorite dishes - Soto ayam, which is an Indonesian aromatic soup with chicken, vegetables and rice (150 NTD / USD $4.99). Although this shop (and likely many of the restaurants in the area) does not hold a Halal certification, we ensured with the chef that the food is indeed halal.
While digesting, we visited a sight which may be important to Muslim travellers coming to Taipei: Taipei Grand Mosque. This beautiful structure in the heart of Da’an neighbourhood was the first official mosque in the whole country. It features bronze domes and supposedly holds a market on Fridays.
Our final meal brought us to Shida District where we found a street food stall that serves Taiwanese fried chicken that is popular among locals, and is Halal Certified as well. We ordered a typical ji-pie (chicken steak) that is seasoned in typical Taiwanese spices. The chicken was juicy, flavourful and fried to perfection! The massive piece of chicken was 69 NTD (USD $2.29), and is enough for 2 people to share!
