Tonga Expedition Part 1. How to get to TONGA

Hello Everyone!

Finally, we are in Tonga!!
We are on the Expedition to swim with Humpback Whales in Vava'u, Tonga!
We've been waiting for this day forever!!
Swimming with Humpback was one of our long long bucket list, and we are finally doing it!

Getting to Tonga was not easy, we were very sleep deprived with early morning flight from Sydney, and a short over-night layover in Fiji.
We were also informed that the airline is very strict on their weight restriction, and there is good chance your luggage may not make it due to the weight/fuel limits. (they cannot refuel in Tonga)
So it was rather nervous and stressful journey getting there, but we arrived just fine with our luggage together ????????

We can't wait to share our adventures out in the ocean with whales!!

Hope you guys enjoyed our travel day video.

TONGA SWIMMING WITH WHALES

Swimming with humpback whales in Tonga was on the top of our bucket list when we started traveling the world.

To make our dreams coming true, we traveled together with Kirsten's father to the small and remote island of 'Eua in Tonga.

Enjoy our travel documentary about our once-in-a-lifetime-trip to the end of the world (yes it's the end of the world for us Dutchies ;).

In this documentary, you'll see our adventure starting in Australia (Sydney) all the way to the remote island of 'Eua in the Kingdom of Tonga. We spend a week with the local family and guides, and next to us there are only a few other travelers from Australia.

We interview the captain of the boat, Litani Taufa. Unfortunately a few months later Litani unexpectedly passed away. We're still sorry for his loss. Grateful for him and his family that we experienced this adventure with them.

Also, you'll see an adventure with Alex Grabham, a marine biologist who is researching the behavior of the Humpback Whales.

Is Swimming with Humpback Whales also on your bucket list? Enjoy this documentary and let us know below in the comments! And don't forget to switch ON the English Subtitles.

Message in a Bottle: FOUND!

Just a quick story about Michael's message in a bottle he released on his birthday at a remote volcano in the Ha'apai Island group, Tonga.

Pretty crazy that it only took 3 months for it to wash up on a beach in a neighbouring country.

Slims Adventures Volume 1. Episode 1. Freediving The Kingdom Of Tonga

This is a short movie from some of the caves in Tonga. I have been dreaming of swimming in tropical waters with caves and coral all around and admiring the humpback whales all whilst doing it and this is exactly what I got to do in Tonga! After waking up to work everyday and dreaming of diving the arch and seeing the whales i finally saved up all my pennies and booked my trip to Tonga! What I didnt know is that it was going to be an untouched paradise full of life. From the amazing people and dive crew i stayed on the islands with to the incredible locals we came across. Each local was so humble and loved every day of their life like it was their last. Incredible food and company for the 2 weeks diving in Tonga. Really want to thank Erez, Ally, Paddy and Sammy for showing us around and introducing our group to this pristine paradise. Words cannot describe this place. It goes to show though if you respect something it does give back. Not just mother nature but your everyday life. Love your neighbour and he/she will love you back to. Appreciate every day you have living on this amazing planet because who knows what tomorrow will bring. Dont hold back on doing what you love because it doesnt fit into your plan at the moment. Their is no right time to fit it into your plan by the time there will be its already to late. Stay tuned for the next Episode. Safe diving.
