TOP 10 Places to Visit in Antigua and Barbuda

One of the more beach-heavy destinations the Caribbean has to offer, the irresistible duo of Antigua and Barbuda is said to have one stretch of sand for every day of the year! And while no one’s quite sure if the count is accurate (we doubt anyone’s managed to check out all the beaches), there’s no question that some of the little coves and inlets are among the most beautiful in the world.

They run from the shimmering powder of 17-mile Beach on far-flung Barbuda to the secluded reaches of Rendezvous Bay, with oodles of palm-backed sunbathing spots and snorkeling opportunities along the way.

But these islands are about more than just sea and sand; there’s history and adventure too.

Visitors can check out everything from stingray-packed coral beds to crumbling English fortresses, see where naval frigates would have docked in the 1700s and wonder at colossal cliff faces carved from the rocks.

Antigua Most Affluent Community

#Hodges Bay,#Royal Gardens, #Crosbies, #Cedar Grove, #Longford, #Weatherills,#Mount Pleasant, #Soldier Bay, #Blue Waters, #Dickenson Bay, #Paradise View, #Mc Kinnons. #Antigua most affluent community. #Drone footage.

This is a thought that has been plaguing my mind and haunting my sole for a very long time, to view my surrounding from above in my own space and time. I can now put greater value and appreciation in my philosophical and natural way of seeing things in different ways.

Thank you DJI Mavic Pro.

Wallings Nature Reserve Loop - Antigua and Barbuda ????️

????️ Wallings Nature Reserve is a non-profit organization that maintains and manages at least 1680 acres or 680 of rainforest in the Sherkley Mountain Protected Area. The area consists of 4 trails leading to different destinations and beaches on the south of the island.

The main trail through Wallings Nature Reserve leads to the most peaceful and monumental area of the reserve: The Wallings Dam. From the very start of the trail, you can feel the peaceful atmosphere reaching out to you. Tall, majestic trees tower overhead, providing optimum shade all throughout the trails. One of the main trees that can be admired include statuesque Goertner Silk Cotton Trees which grow up to 25 meters tall and produce silk cotton. Other plants include Bamboo and Sugar Apple trees.

???? About 5 minutes into this hike, you should reach the reservoir through which water from the dam flows. Known as “Antigua’s only waterfall” the structure resembles giant stairs and are quite the attraction when the dam is full. You can walk across the reservoir, following the green railings until the dam comes into sight. The dam was initially constructed in the 1800s to hold up to 13 million gallons of water, supplying up to 15 villages on the island. On the top left of hill overlooking the dam is an old structure that was used to control the flow of the water to the reservoir.

The Loop Trail leads around the Wallings Dam, offering several viewpoints and more lush vegetation to explore, but if you prefer to rest here, you can do it on a comfortable picnic bench under the large shady trees. This area of the reserve is the perfect spot for unwinding and just enjoying the quiet serenity of the rainforest.

???????????? What an INCREDIBLE Resort in Antigua Looks Like

➡️ Today I'm in Antigua in the Caribbean, with a bunch of other bloggers for a conference. We're also doing many activities, so let's get out the evidence kit and see what we can find!

FEATURED BLOGGERS
Sandy @sandymakessense
Kerwin @loyaltytravels
Emily @em_luxton

TRANSCRIPT:
From London, our flight with Virgin Atlantic was about 8,5 hours and I must say that while the leg space in economy classic was a bit minimal, the complimentary food and drinks were really quite good, there was great in-flight entertainment and the staff was super friendly as well, so my flight experience was overall very pleasant.

On arrival in Antigua, we were welcomed by live music, how great is that
▷ We really couldn't have asked for more!

During this week, our group will be staying at the family friendly all-inclusive verandah resort & spa, which is part of the elite island resorts group and features multiple beaches, swimming pools, restaurants, bars, a gym and even a mini-golf course.

So we just arrived from the airport, it's super warm, we're here at the Verandah resort and I'm gonna turn the camera around and show you my 'little' house. We've got the bathroom here and then... we have -my god- a massive bed... but the thing I'm most excited about...

THIS ladies and gentlemen is the view.
*** Oh my god!

- You make it look so effortless, Sandy
- Should I move
▷ (Kerwin) No! You are the shot!
- What kind of shit would you like me to do
▷ (Emily) Well... just be you! ... and pan out...
- I'm exploring with Kerwin! Hashtag #ExploringWithKerwin! And you can see my apartment up there on the corner (this one... this one... this one!) ... and the beach right there.

Coming soon Devil’s Bridge National Park Saint Philip, Antigua and Barbuda

Please like, comment, share, subscribe, and click the bell to be notified when a new video is uploaded to In4K International Tour.

Antigua and Barbuda is known for r its 365 amazing white sand beaches – one for every day of the year. While the beaches may be spectacular, they are only the beginning! An excursion that every visitor should take while on vacation in Antigua and Barbuda is a trip to Devil’s Bridge.
It is located outside the village of Willikies and offers a stunning glimpse into Antigua’s natural formation. Composed of limestone rock, the rugged terrain of Devil’s Bridge is the result of millions of years of ancient reef formation.
For hundreds of thousands of years, the Atlantic’s waves have crashed into the east coast of Antigua creating a natural arch, or bridge. Numerous geysers and blowholes surround the arch as waves continually break against the coastal rocks.
Devil’s Bridge is an official National Park and promises to be a unique and moving experience. Although it has a haunting history, it is absolutely breathtaking. It is also considered one of the best things to do – you can’t leave Antigua Island without seeing it!
You may be wondering if Devil’s Bridge is an actual bridge – and it is! It’s a natural bridge formed by thousands of years of ancient reef formation and erosion.
The Atlantic’s waves have constantly crashed into the limestone rocks, which has created a natural arch filled with geysers and blowholes over time. Waves continue to break against these same coastal limestone rocks, and it is a stunning natural phenomenon.
A prehistoric Amerindian site is located nearby, which suggests that the area may have been used for fishing and settlement at some point in the past.
The history of Devil’s Bridge is shrouded in tragedy. It’s said to be a place where enslaved Africans would go to commit suicide in a final effort to escape the horrors of slavery.
The arch got the name “Devil’s Bridge” because people at the time believed that the devil must live there. In this video, you will see that the Atlantic waters are rough and it was a known fact that anyone who fell off the bridge would never make it out alive.
Local scholars and historians have determined that another reason this area had so many suicides is that there is no land mass between the location of Devil’s Bridge and the West Coast of Africa.
It is believed that the enslaved Africans knew which direction they came from, and jumped from Devil’s Bridge in hopes that the raging current of the Atlantic would deliver their bodies back to the cherished Motherland.
