Fenua-ura in Fanning Island, Kiribati
Fenua-ura is a cape in Kiribati . It is located in the Tabua River and the Island of Lines , in the western part of the country, 3 100 km east of the capital Tarawa . Fenua-ura is located on the island of Tawata .
The terrain inland is very flat. The highest point nearby is 16 meters above sea level, 1.0 km north of Fenua-ura. The nearest larger community is Tenenebo Village , 2.9 km southeast of Fenua-ura. In the area around Fenua-ura there are unusually many named peninsulas.
Tropical monsoon climate prevails in the area. The annual average temperature in the area is 22 ° C. The hottest month is April, when the average temperature is 26 ° C, and the coldest is February, with 22 ° C. Average annual rainfall is 1,496 millimeters. The wettest month is June, with an average of 265 mm of precipitation , and the driest is January, with 55 mm of precipitation.

Kiribati, officially the Republic of Kiribati, is an island nation in the central Pacific Ocean. The country has a limited population and is facing critical issue regarding its existence due to climate change.
Mentawai Islands, Indonesia: A secluded Tropical Natural Island Paradise in the Indian Ocean
Whether you’re a surf-enthusiast, nature lover or just seeking seclusion in a remote natural island paradise surrounded by the vast ocean, you definitely have to put Mentawai in your bucket list! In this series, my father and I headed over to the beautiful Mentawai Islands off the west coast of Sumatra island of Indonesia in the Indian Ocean. Mentawai is an archipelago of about 70 islands with four main islands and is a world-renown surfing destination. We stayed on the main island of Sipora where the regency capital (Tuapejat) is also located.

00:15 Our journey started in Padang, the capital of West Sumatra province of Indonesia. We used a ferry service called “Mentawai Fast”. It was a grueling journey for me with plenty of vomiting throughout the 4 hour ride. It was only my second time ever traveling through rough open seas and I am very prone to seasickness. The ferry then reaches the port at Tuapejat, the capital of Mentawai Islands regency where we were picked up by our resort’s boat to take us on another 1.5 hour ride to the resort in the south of the same island (Sipora island).
00:55 Katiet village, South Sipora. A small remote village in the south of Sipora island of Mentawai islands where our resort is situated (Hollow Tree’s Resort). The resort is owned by two French gentlemen and it is an all-inclusive resort consisting of four bungalows along the beach with beautiful nature-inspired design.
01:49 We used the resort’s motorcycle to get to a spot on the other side of the tiny peninsula where our resort is located. This spot offers beginner friendly surf wave breaks and is directly facing toward the Indian ocean.
03:29 The next day we went to explore the coastal area toward the south of the resort that is facing east toward the main Indonesian island of Sumatra.
05:31 Copra making : We met a couple of locals who were harvesting the coconuts to be sold as copra in the town market. Copra is the dried-up kernel of the coconut from which coconut oil can be extracted. They start by removing the shell and husks, draining out the water and then finally smoke drying the kernels. The copra is sold at the local market to be further processed to create various value-added goods such as cooking oil, hygiene products and cosmetic products. Coconut fiber can also be extracted from the removed husks to be used as raw material to make household goods such as floormats, decorations, brushes and mattresses.
07:09 We ended the day relaxing at the resort and using the resort’s tandem kayak to kayak ourselves into dinner time ???? From our kayak we could better see the HT’s (Lance’s Right) Surf waves, claimed to be one of the best and most consistent right handed surf waves in the world. What a peaceful and relaxing day!

The clouds soon clear and we enjoy some beautiful weather to get out and about and explore. We borrow some bicycles from our new friends Nick and Lisa and head up through the villages to take a look at the very grand 'Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary' in the village of Koinawa.
Rob sadly discovers some unwanted guests in his chickpeas and we check out the local 'airport' for some Friday night fun! We also witness some of the most stunning sunsets we have ever seen ????

Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you.
In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve.
We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle.
So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles.
We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second.
We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel!
