Mongol Rally 2013 - The Motoring Monks

The Motoring Monks embark on a journey from the United Kingdom to Mongolia without a set route, no back up and a car not suited for the job.

This short documentary follows Carlos, Florian, Josh and Will on their 10000 mile adventure to Ulaanbaatar.

It took us 40 days, 17 countries 26 police stops, 9 breakdowns, 7 time zones, 283 driving hours, 34 hours spent at borders, 4 friends and 2 charities to complete our epic journey.

We would like to thank our sponsors, we wouldn't have made it without them and a big thank you to everyone who donated and helped us raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

**UPDATE - The video goes mute in some parts because I got a copyright claim from a song**

Destroying a 3-wheeler on the Mongol Rally

What happens when you take a 3-wheeled Reliant Rialto on a 10,000 mile road trip from the UK to Mongolia? The tiny plastic car takes a spectacular beating.

This is the story of Patrick and Devan on the Mongol Rally, the world's greatest road trip. They broke down almost every day. They snapped their suspension, lost a window, had massive electrical failure, their brakes failed and the head gasket went along with a massive list of other stuff that broke, snapped and went gloriously wrong.

Somehow, they managed to force their plastic disaster machine all the way to the finish line. We think they might have taken the record for most mechanical chaos while completing the rally...

The 2020 Mongol Rally is open for registration - find out more:

Team PZM: First Mongol Rally team through Pakistan & China

A Mongol Rally team has driven through Iran, Pakistan and China on their way to the finish line in Mongolia for the first time in the ten year history of the rally.

Team PZM from Switzerland captured stunning footage of their adventure including non stop Iranian hospitality, driving through an area of Pakistan known to be a Taliban hideout, the epic mountain scenery of the mighty Karakoram Highway and they even managed to make all the arrangements to drive through China before tackling the Mongolian steppe.

Massive thanks to the team for sharing this footage with us for MONGOL RALLY X - this is probably the best video ever shot of the Mongol Rally.
