SWEET MARTHA’S COOKIES: Mix together secret dry mix and shortening. Pour in water, then add chocolate chips and mix. Send mixture to the dolloping machine. Dollop the dough. Place on tray. Place in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Remove and allow to cool a bit. Serve in a bucket.

FRESH FRENCH FRIES: Load the hopper with raw potatoes, send them up the conveyor belt to go through the peeler. Fry the french fries and season with a bit of salt.

3. CORN ROAST
ROASTED SWEET CORN: Soak corn for 10-15 minutes. Place on the grill for 10 minutes then flip it and let it roast another 5 minutes at 700 degrees F. Add water to steam it then husk. Dip it in a vat of salted melted butter. Enjoy.

WHAT WE ATE AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR 2017 | DEEP FRIED EVERYTHING ON A STICK
A quick edit of our adventures this year at the 2017 Minnesota State Fair! This fair is one of the largest in the US and my husband and I go every year - in fact, I have not missed it in 17 years! They have everything deep fried on a stick and other yummy treats, and a whole day's worth of food ended up in over 11,000 steps taken, which means the food was well deserved!
We had corn on the cob, sweet corn corn dogs, clam fries, deep fried cookie dough, sausage biscuit and gravy, poutine tots, cookies and milk, and more!

The fair is always 12 days long, and ends on labor day. If you haven't made it out this year yet, I highly recommend it!
