CRHnews - Hoegh Osaka grounded on Bramble Bank off Isle of Wight
The owners of a 52,000 ton cargo ship stricken off the Isle of Wight say it was deliberately grounded to prevent it from capsizing after it began listing as it left port.
The Hoegh Osaka, carrying 1,400 cars, some of which are thought to include Rolls Royces and Bentleys, became grounded on Bramble Bank in the Solent at 9.20pm on Saturday night, forcing emergency services to rescue all 25 crew members on board.
The incident prompted a major rescue operation with the crew members and a pilot having to be taken to safety by Coastguard helicopter and RNLI lifeboats with two people suffering non-life threatening.

DRAMATIC FOOTAGE SHIP IN STORM. (The Unseen Key Workers)
ERRV (Emergency Response & Rescue Vessel) is a support vessel for Oil & Gas Platforms.
They stay at sea for a month at a time (2 months during COVID-19) in all kinds of weather.
Here we see the Vos Explorer in 12-15 meter seas as she heads into Lerwick for stores. The maximum recorded seas in this part of the world are over twice this size.

Cosco tanker hit by floating crane in Iraq| Merchant Navy| Sailing Knowledge
China Cosco Shipping’s product tanker Tian E Zuo was involved in a collision with a floating crane at Khor al Zubayr port, Iraq on Friday.
A video showed that the tanker was anchored while it was hit by the floating crane. Following the collision, the tanker suffered a hull breach and ballast water was seen leaking from the vessel.
The tanker has headed to Dubai for repairs and according to latest AIS tracking information is now anchored near Dubai.
The 2012-built Tian E Zuo is currently on a one-year time charter contract with Russian energy firm Lukoil.
