Epic 500 drones display at Marina Bay Singapore
Watch the epic hypnotic 500 drones performance for Singapore’s New Year’s Eve countdown featuring Singapore icons such as the Merlion !! This performance was part of the second annual Star Island Singapore Countdown Edition, which also featured fireworks, music and live performances that lasted 90 minutes.
Scale, tech and sheer joy is the way to best describe incredible new year celebrations at the Marina Bay Sands, here in Singapore. The drones are flying in tandem over Singapore’s The Float @ Marina Bay on New Year’s Eve and performed in unison, forming a clock, a planet, a diamond and a mythical Merlion, Singapore’s official mascot that has a lion’s head and a fish’s body.
The intricate drone performance is the brainchild of Star Island’s technical director Yoshida Takumi, The Straits Times reported.
He was backed by a 30-strong drone team, which includes 10 specialist pilots and engineers.
Takumi previously organised a 500-drone display at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Drone is size of palm :
Each drone is about the size of an outstretched palm.
They were flying pre-programmed formations and manoeuvred within a metre from each other.
They are operated via a GPS flight system.
It took about a year to prepare for the performance, from conceptualising ideas to settling on the final execution. Some drones got within 3 feet of one another, took a year to create, choreograph and produce, the Straits Times reported.

We are not going for Singapore ???????? New Year Fireworks Countdown and 500 Drones Show 2020. The location is at Marina Bay and we shoot this video from Esplanade Theater.
this year will feature Singapore’s largest synchronized drone show, with “2019: A Space Odyssey” as the theme with the Star Island from Japan as the organizer. ????
Besides very long fireworks, it also going to feature 500 drones show that will paint Singapore Night Sky at New Year. The price is from SGD$88 to SGD$468
But since i want to prefer to experience New Year with the crowd and i want to save my money ????, i prefer to go to the usual place people watch the fireworks for free that is Esplanade Theater. Actually, there are other places like Marina Bay Sands, Helix Bridge, Marina Bay Financial Centre and Merlion. But i choose Esplanade since it is nearer to the Stage and easier to reach.
After editing, i realize that it is quite long, so i decided to make it into 2 part.

This video is all about how Singapore welcomes New Year.
Location:
Like event is performed at Marina Bay Area. Best place to watch this firework is from Merlion which is directly opposite to MBS hotel.
Tips:
You need to come early (around 7 PM) to get a proper place to stand and enjoy the show. As the time come close to the final countdown, whole place become super crowded.

This time there was a special performance by 500 drones making different patterns like Jelly fish, planet Saturn with rings, Walking man, Flying bird, Diamond etc.
This was followed by continuous fireworks from 10 pm till final countdown to keep the public engaged and entertained.
And finally the countdown began with around 7 mins of fireworks with a superb ending.
