Pero kaka-Boracay lang ulit namin recently and ise-share namin sa inyo ang latest as of this recording. Dedetalyehin din naman ‘yung pabalik ng airport from Boracay toward the end of this video.

Traveling to Boracay, Philippines - DIY Transfers, Fees, and Entry Requirements

Traveling to Boracay, Philippines through Manila airport (starting in Puerto Princesa) was quite a journey! We opted to do it all ourselves instead of organizing a transfer with a hotel or company in Boracay, and it was a little confusing at times. The travel day to Boracay was a long one, starting in Puerto Princesa airport (where we had planned to do a tour but it was canceled due to bad weather 2 days in a row), stopped for a layover in Manila International Airport, and then landed in Caticlan Airport. That's when things got really interesting.

Catching the flights was the easy part. Once we arrived at Caticlan airport we had to figure out how to get to Boracay Island (which is just off the coast) independently. We figured it wouldn't be too difficult as Boracay Island is the #1 vacation destination for local Filipinos, so the route had to be well marked as many people make this journey every day for their holidays. Sure enough, everyone working in the area knew what to do, the only trouble is we didn't know what we were doing so we just kept handing over cash and being herded through like cattle ;)

After two tricycle rides, a boat ride, and getting very close to puking in front of a boatful of vacationers, we arrived in our hotel in Boracay! For anyone who is wondering how to get from Manila Airport or Caticlan Airport to Boracay Island, we show all the steps and costs as of 2023 in this video and hope you find it helpful! As travelers on a budget, we always opt for the least expensive option to get to a new place, and when visiting Boracay Island, that means organizing the transfers ourselves. The DIY method to get to Boracay ended up being quite affordable and we're happy we went with this option!

Boracay is known for having one of the best beaches in all of the Philippines, and is a very popular place to visit for locals and foreigners visiting Philippines. The only trouble is that traveling to Boracay Island can be a little confusing when you look it up online. The most common route to get to Boracay is from Manila airport, so we've focused on this part of our travel day to help anyone who is planning to make the same journey during their visit to the Philippines!

Manila to Boracay (Not Quite As Planned)

On Day 5 in the Philippines, along with Anton and his family, we flew to the island of Boracay to spend 2 days. Things didn’t go quite as planned, as our first flight was canceled, but we did end up making it to Boracay at the end of the day, and then got checked into Discovery Shores Hotel.

Anton’s YouTube channel:

00:30 Going to the Airport - We took a taxi in the morning to the airport, and arrived and checked in. The line and security was pretty tight, but didn’t take too long.

2:08 Flight Canceled and Rebooked - Cebu Pacific is notorious in the Philippines for delayed and canceled flights, and today was no different. We were supposed to fly from Manila to Caticlan, but our flight was canceled, and we had to re-route on another flight to Kalibo airport, about 2 hours from Boracay.

2:36 Lunch at Airport - Lunch at the airport wasn’t anything too impressive, nor was the food supplied by Cebu Pacific.

4:55 Flight to Kalibo, Boracay - Finally, even our re-routed flight was late by 1.5 hours, but we finally took off the Kalibo Airport, towards Boracay island.

6:19 Where is Boracay? - Boracay is a small island off the coast of Aklan. The closest airport is Caticlan, and about 2 hours away is another airport called Kalibo.

7:19 Boat ride to Boracay - After taking a van for about 2 hours to get to the pier, we then took a quick boat ride to Boracay island and we headed to Discovery Shores Hotel where we stayed for 2 nights.

10:00 Dinner at Discovery Shores Boracay - Dinner was served on the beach, along with Anton and his family, and everything was pretty good.

Disclosure: We were invited to stay at Discovery Shores Boracay, so we didn’t pay for our stay. But everything in this video, and all thoughts are my own.

BORACAY was NOT what we EXPECTED! ????

How to get to Boracay from Manila | The easiest and fastest way!

How get to Boracay in the Philippines? Look no further, we'll tell you all about our own experience in this video. We chose an easy, fast and convenient way to get to the island.

We started our journey in Manilla and flew to Caticlan airport, the nearest airport to Boracay. You have many ways to get to Boracay Island, either by pre-booking or doing it yourself in the moment. Since we did not book it yet and knew you could also do it at the place, we decided to wait.

When arriving at the Caticlan airport, you pick up your baggage and leave the terminal. When entering the next building you have the options to just book a transfer to the harbour and arrange everything yourself or to book a whole package. This whole package is fast, easy and it costs 1050 pesos per person. This includes all transfers bringing you to your hotel and also port fee plus environmental fee. We chose Southwest Travel & Tours as we heard good things about them, and they were the first ones we noticed in the arrivals hall.

A door to door service is super easy and gets you to the island pretty fast. So more time for your holiday and less haggling with van and tricycle drivers. Overall we totally recommend booking this whole package, Yes you do spend a little more, but all the mandatory fees are included! So in the end the extra costs are negligible and it makes for an easy and efficient transfer.

Manila To Boracay | Everything You Need To Know

This is everything you need to know about going from Manila to Boracay. I take a domestic Philippines flight on Air Asia from Manila (Ninoy Aquino Airport) to #caticlan Airport to go to Boracay beach. I show the intense journey to go there. After landing we must take a shuttle to the ferry port. From there we get on a small ferry boat which takes us to the island of Boracay. Because it was raining the boat ride was crazy, the boat was rocking back and forth and I was a bit scared. After getting to the island, we must take another bus which takes us to the actual beach area where my hotel is. I was exhausted after this long journey.
