???????? #DJIAIR2S Windy Hill Wind Farm, Ravenshoe | Queensland | 4K [2021]

Location: 17°35'26.11S 145°31'50.26E

Windy Hill Wind Farm is Queensland's largest wind farm with 20 windmills producing enough power for 3500 homes. Windy Hill Wind Farm is located about three kilometres from Ravenshoe, which is situated 920 metres above sea level (highest town in Queensland,) on privately owned Atherton Tableland dairy farmland. It is capable of a generating capacity of 12 megawatts, and the number of wind turbines is 20. The rotar diameter is a massive 45 meters. The location was picked as it is an excellent wind resource. Wind measurements show particularly high night-time wind speeds which would complement Queensland's overall energy mix. Epuron is using the wind data and preliminary investigations to design a wind farm project of up to 95 wind turbines.

Kaban Wind Farm Lunacy

We will look back at the lunacy of our folly in years to come. There is already so much cleared and degraded land in Australia and here we are destroying some of the best high biodiverse remnant bits left.

Clearing and fragmenting some of the best habitat left in Australia for wind farm industrial estates is a delusional act that won't save the climate. Real climate action is placing renewable energy projects in a planned and proper manner in appropriate locations that will lead to a net loss of carbon emissions and a net gain in increased biodiversity The environmental offsets given to these wind farm projects in high biodiverse locations are a scam.

There are more of these inappropriately placed projects in the pipeline including the Chalumbin Wind Farm, Upper Burdekin Wind Farm and the completely ridiculous Mount Fox Energy Park which is almost entirely contained in some of the best remnant wet sclerophyll forests outside of the protected estate.

DJI Mini 2 | Port Augusta Wind Farm | South Australia | tonesdrone

The Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park is a combined wind and solar farm south of Port Augusta in South Australia.
The wind turbines were originally approved to have a maximum height (to the tip of the blades) of 150 metres (490 ft) but in June 2019, this approval was increased to 185 metres (607 ft).
The revised plan raises the hub height to 107.5 metres (353 ft), bringing a Nominal generating capacity of each turbine to 4.5MW and reduces the number of turbines from 59 to 50.

ACCIONA supports Waubra Community | #RenewableEnergy

The Waubra Wind Farm has been operating in Australia for 10 years. During the time of this project, we are extremely proud of the relationships we have built with the extended Waubra Community. Since 2009, the Waubra Wind Farm has contributed more than AUD$220 million to Australia’s GDP. ACCIONA has contributed over AUD$620,000 to local initiatives to give back to the community. Some of these include sponsorship for local community groups and schools, community benefit funds and education scholarships. We look forward to continuing to build our relationships and produce more clean energy for years to come.

China Wind Power, Aerial view of China's first wind farm,Aerial China

China is the world leader in wind power generation, with the largest installed capacity of any nation and continued rapid growth in new wind facilities. With its large land mass and long coastline, China has exceptional wind power resources: it is estimated China has about 2,380 gigawatts (GW) of exploitable capacity on land and 200 GW on the sea.

In 2016, China added 19.3 GW of wind power generation capacity[5] to reach a total capacity of 149 GW,and generated 241 TWh of electricity, representing 4% of total national electricity consumption. Both China's installed capacity and new capacity in 2015 are the largest in the world by a wide margin, with the next largest market, the United States, adding 8.6 GW in 2015 and having an installed capacity of 74.4 GW. Wind power in the United States has however a much higher capacity factor.

Other than cropping the size to fit the wide screen, I don't edit the images. Let all be natural and real as I have seen.

A flyover of an Isaan farm, Thailand

It was such a perfect morning that I thought the drone might enjoy an outing. The resulting video shows the incredible lushness of Isaan landscapes this time of the year. One for the homesick farmers out there. Lots more farming stories from the northeast of Thailand here:

Waterwell - a giant sequoia destroyed by the Castle Fire

Before and after aerial footage of Waterwell, a giant sequoia destroyed by the SQF Complex / Castle Fire. The SQF Complex / Castle Fire was the worst fire in sequoia history. Two hundred giant sequoias were destroyed in the Alder Creek Grove.Thousands of sequoias were lost in several other groves including Freeman Creek Grove, McIntyre Grove, Mountain Home Grove, Dillonwood (section of Garfield Grove), Board Camp Grove, and Homers Nose Grove.

This happened because of climate change. Cutting and burning our forests further only brings more heat, aridity, and wind, and therefore, the risk of more severe fire. Everything we are doing is speeding up their demise.

CHESTERTON WINDMILL WARWICKSHIRE UNITED KINGDOM

The windmill is one of Warwickshire's most famous landmarks. It stands on a hilltop overlooking the village of Chesterton, near the Roman Fosse Way and about five miles (8 km) south-east of Warwick. It was built around 1632–1633, probably by Sir Edward Peyto, who was Lord of the Chesterton Manor House.
