First Thoughts on Russia | We Spent 48 Hours in St Petersburg, Russia
After our insane Russian visa nightmare we are so glad to arrive here in St Petersburg...these are our first thoughts on the country.
Tour we are on in Russia with On the Go Tours:
We have 48 hours in St Petersburg so we are going to show you as much as possible to do in this incredible city which started off by working out the Metro systems...going to the deepest one in Russia - Admiralteyskaya station. It's so cost effective to use the Metro system, less than a $1 and there's no zones - jump on and just jump off when you are done.
Our first stop was obviously coffee, so we went to Pyshechnaya which is a cafe set up like an old soviet style restaurant where all they sell is cheap coffee and one style of donut.
Next up we headed to the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood which is a breathtaking church best described as a gingerbread house - and if you think outside looks stunning - wait till you go inside and see the 1000's of mosaics lining the walls.
To find the best views in St Petersburg we recommend you head to St Isaac's Cathedral.
If you are looking for some of the best museums in the world - head to the Hermitage Museum (the Winter Palace) and also head to Catherines Summer Palace - both very grand and opulent.
If you want to try some Russian food - we recommend Советское кафе Квартирка - which is an old soviet style restaurant set up like an old soviet home. Amazing food - we recommend you try

It was a very spontaneous little trip to the cultural capital of Russia.
This is a second-most populous city with a population nearly 7 million people. Just compare in Moscow there are around 16 million.
I have never been in this city though my friends were there several times.
I like St. Petersburg, in Russian it’s called Санкт –Петербург, Петербург or we just say Питер.
The first place we decided to visit was Saint Isaac’s Cathedral Исаакиевский собор.
It is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city and one of the highest cathedrals in the world.
The most highest is Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, I mentioned about this one in my previous video. Check it out!
We went by The State Hermitage Museum (in Russian we say ЭРМИТАЖ)
The second place was The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood (Russian: Церковь Спаса на Крови) is one of the main sights of St. Petersburg.
This church looks like St Basil’s cathedral on Red Square( Собор Василия Блаженного на Красной площади). The video about this one is here . Watch it!
The third place was the main and the biggest church in Petersburg Kazan Cathedral (Казанский собор).
TO sum up, Peter is a unique city which I recommend to visit!

Today I visit two main structures of the city with my new friend’s Ornnicha and Vlad. Vlad is guiding us today, he lives in Saint Petersburg from past 6 years and he also become my best Russian friend . First We visited the 300 Park which is constructed on the 300th Anniversary of the city Saint Petersburg and then we visited the tallest building of Saint Petersburg and 2nd tallest building of Russia ???????? known as Lakhta-Center .

I was visiting the beautiful city of St. Petersburg, Russia when a girl asked me if I wanted to join her on an exploration. Of course I said yes, and off we went to the Kazan Cathedral.
We arrived at the entrance to Kazan Cathedral and look in the breathtakingly beautiful view from outside
There we made friends with a couple of other tourists who were visiting from nearby countries. We all agreed to explore the cathedral together.
We were all amazed by the intricate details and beauty of the Isaac Cathedral, but none of us could take our eyes off of the stunning city view from above
We decided to climb up the bell tower for an even better view of the city.
Atop the bell tower, we had a spectacular view of St Petersburg's skyline. From here we could see all of its major landmarks including renowned buildings such as The Winter Palace, The Church of Our Savior on Spilt Blood, and St Isaac's Cathedral itself!
