WADI ARBAEEN - THE HIDDEN WATERFALLS
Wadi Arabeen is only 1 hr and 45 minutes from Muscat, yet it's one of Oman's best wadis, it's secluded, raw, teeming with wildlife, and one of the country's most beautiful spots to visit. The hike to the waterfalls is a hidden gem that is extremely rewarding after the 3-4 hours trek (one way).
This was our second trip to Wadi Arbaeen, watch the video here
Here is some relevant information for this trip.
- Muscat to Wadi Arabeen parking spot: 1hr 45 minutes , turn right from the parking spot, follow the falaj on the right, and continue along the wadi
- After about 45 minutes to an hour into the trek you will start to get the bigger pools of water, enjoy this section as The walk becomes a little more difficult after around 4 or 5 larger pools, with fewer water and pools of water, as well as rougher and larger boulders to climb over. There are trekking stone signs that will point you in the right path to the waterfalls.
- Approx. time, 1 way trip to the waterfalls 2.5 - 3 hours ( for the fit and at a fast pace) or
Approx. 3.5 to 4 with a moderate pace. ( Round trip 5 - 8 hours)
- Take plenty of drinking water you will need loads of it. I did suffer with heat exhaustion as I did not drink water regularly.
- The trek to the waterfalls is not advisable for kids and the unexperienced ( the kids can enjoy the many pools upto around 1.5 to 2 hours into the trek, where you will get to enjoy the 4 to
5 bigger pools of water).
- In comparison to the other notable wadis, this wadi is quite lonely and remote, so travel with a larger group.
-Being more remote means you'll see a lot more wildlife; we saw at least three snakes ( Wadi Racers, these are harmless snakes).
- After the tiring 3-4 hour trek, the Waterfalls are the most satisfying experience.

Al Qurum beach is located in northern Oman, in the city of Muscat. It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Oman, and that’s why lots of famous hotels and cafes are built nearby. Being in the capital city, Al Qurum beach is one of the busiest beaches in Oman, which makes it close to shopping centers, restaurants and other attractions.
Al Mughsayl Beach :-
Al Mughsayl Beach is located in Dhofar, the southern region of Oman. Its golden beach is about 7 km long. Beside its crystal waters and glowing sand, the coconut and banana plantations along the coastline makes this a picturesque paradise.
Bandar Jissah :-
Bandar Jissah is located around 25 km from Muscat. What distinguishes this beach is the amazing rocky hills and formations rising out of the water, which glow a gorgeous orange hue in the right sunlight.
Musandam Beaches :-
Musandam is located in the north region of Oman. It is surrounded by two gulfs, the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Gulf. There are lots of beautiful beaches here that are filled with clear white sand. The most famous is Khassab beach.
Tiwi Beach :-
Tiwi is a small fishing village located on the eastern coast of Oman. Besides its white sands, it is bordered by Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Shab, with their green plantations, crystal waters and majestic mountains.

WOW this is the absolute must do thing to do when visiting Muscat! We never expected that this day trip would be one of Muscat top tourist attractions and sight-seeing places of Oman. Wadi Shab was one of the most fascinating natural wonders we've experienced on earth. We visited Bimmah Sinkhole and Wadi Ash Shab, where we found and swam in Wadi Shab hidden water caves.

Join the final part of our Oman travel vlog! On our last day we still managed to find an incredible adventure in Wadi Al Hoquain. Also known as Wadi Hoqain, Wadi Woquain, Wadi Hoqeen, etc., this lesser-known wadi is, for us, one of the best wadis of Oman. Join us as we explore the Hoqain River with some swimming in the Blue Pools of Hoqain and some wadi jumping.
This amazing wadi is right up there with Wadi Shab and Wadi Tiwi for us. And at only 100 minutes' drive from Muscat, it's an easy one to include on any itinerary of Oman tourist places to visit in the Sultanate of Oman. But along the way we had an unexpected face-off with a wadi snake as well as some terrifying insect life!
This episode starts on a more peaceful note with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat. Join us as we share an extensive tour of this grans mosque, which was built in honour of the late, great Sultan Qaboos.

Hawaiyat Najm (known to foreigners as the Sinkhole, the Bimmah Sink Hole or the Dabab Sinkhole...) is a large hole in the Earth crust filled with some fresh water.
It is and impressive location with:

Plus it is very easy to access and you can walk down to water level!

BEST HIKING PLACE | WADI HAWER ADVENTURE | Amazing Green and Blue pool of wadi Hawer
This is one of the most famous wadis Oman, and probably the first Wadi that comes to mind when thinking of a recreational wadi to visit in Oman.
That is because it is one of the first ‘wadis’ to be a tourist attractions, as it has been known for many years as an easily accessible wadi with plenty of water pools that is popular with both adventure seekers and families wanting to picnic.
is a popular wadi located in a wilayat (province) of the same name in Al Sharqiyah North Region of Oman,
There's another stream river connected to wadi bani khalid which is the gorgeous wadi ban Hawer with amazing view ,crystal clear blue pools and beautiful water falls in the wadi.
This is one of my best wadis It is really beautiful for hiking and adventures loves.It is a fantastic place, where you can feel the silence and the beauty of the nature.
From muscat to wadi ban Khalid takes around 2h30 -3hrs.
and highly recommend it for anyone wanting a bit of a hike and a swim. It is not an easy wadi to trek through, with many rocks and drops to navigate through, so its definitely not suitable for casual & quick visit or for kids,
Hiking and trekking there really need to be physically fit because it takes 5hrs and half (5h and 30 min )and I highly recommend to have a life jacket a lot of pools there and long for safety it is better to have a life jacket.
