Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we rean out of money and went home to normal life. We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. ????????????

We feel like we've winter proofed this bus to withstand the -30 degree temperatures that we'll encounter on this trip - This IS the ultimate winterised van and we cannot wait to experience van life Norway after spending SO long on the van renovation! Fingers crossed this is Custard's final van build.

There are many problems with taking a renovated van into the winter - the arctic circle to be precise!
Living in a vehicle isn't always amazing, in this video we'll show you the realities of van life. The majority of the days we experience below freezing temperatures, extreme snow fall and lately extreme storm winds which have evidently broken our van literally into pieces.
Sub zero temperatures have got our water pipes frozen and have burst our heater heater pipe - so no shower or washing the dishes!
Temperatures have been as low as -22 and if it wasn't for our trusty diesel heater, we'd be snowmen.
Winter camping isn't for the faint hearted, there are many problems living off grid, we've watched everything break with a hope that tomorrow will be a better day!
Also did I mention, WE MADE IT TO NORWAY!!! The mountains are UNREAL!

We are finally leaving the UK and heading off for our van life adventures in Europe. This week we go to the channel tunnel in folkestone to cross the border, with our dog and cat, into France.
We are heading for some extreme winter van life in the mountains but before that we've got some serious miles to cover! On this road trip in our van we encounter our first taste of van life in the snow and sub zero temperatures. Find out how we get on wild camping in winter, as the weather will only get colder and more extreme as we go. Hopefully though, that means the scenery will only get more and more epic!

WINTER Van Life Renovation - everything you will need
This week we have been preparing our bus for a WINTER Van life adventure! This video will give you everything you need to add to your bus ready for the winter. We are so excited to be getting back out on the road living the full time van life for the next three months at least! In this week's video we announce where it is we'll be taking our bus and the renovations that are going into winterising it so we can survive winter van life and be ready for a cold winter somewhere in Europe!
