MOSTAR in Bosnia & Herzegovina: Is It Worth Visiting?

x

FIRST IMPRESSIONS of MOSTAR | Why you NEED to visit BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA ????????

Hey, everyone! Welcome to our first #Bosnia #travelvlog!

After leaving Croatia, we drove to Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina. Mostar completely took us by surprise! It is a beautiful UNESCO town full of cobblestoned streets, old architecture, and home to the most picturesque bridge we have ever seen, Stari Most.

In this video we show you everything we were able to eat, see, and do with 48 hours in Mostar! On our first day we take a walking tour through the city, watch the locals dive off of the famous bridge, and enjoy a traditional Bosnian meal. The next day we visit the stunning Kravice waterfalls, a Dervish monastery, and hike up to an old abandoned fortress.

If you are planning a trip to the Balkans, be sure not miss out on Mostar!

If you enjoyed this video please leave us a like, comment, and SUBSCRIBE! Thank you :)

Is Mostar Worth Visiting?! | Bosnia Travel Vlog

Welcome Adventurers to a new travel video!

In this new travel vlog, in this second Bosnian Adventure i head to the Herzegovina capital - Mostar!

Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country situated in the western Balkan Peninsula of Europe. The larger region of Bosnia occupies the northern and central parts of the country, and Herzegovina occupies the south and southwest. The land has often felt the influences of stronger regional powers that have vied for control over it, and these influences have helped to create Bosnia and Herzegovina’s characteristically rich ethnic and religious mix. Islam, Orthodox Christianity, and Roman Catholicism are all present, with the three faiths generally corresponding to three major ethnic groups: Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats, respectively. This multiethnic population, as well as the country’s historical and geographic position between Serbia and Croatia, has long made Bosnia and Herzegovina vulnerable to nationalist territorial aspirations.

This is Why You Need to Visit Mostar | Bosnia & Herzegovina

The family holiday has come to an end as we finish our road trip in Bosnia & Herzegovina and honestly you guys need to visit Mostar - this bucket list spot is a must!

After leaving Montenegro to make the drive across to Mostar we saw absolutely incredible views on the drive in as we crossed the mountains and made our way down.

Upon arrival we just HAD to see the Mostar bridge before catching one of the famous divers jumping off the bridge. Afterwards we went to find some Bosnian food at a local Mostar restuarant.

We tried Bosnian Food:
- Bosnian Coffee
- Imam Baildi
- Veggie Platter
- Hurmasica

The next day we headed out to see the Dervish house at Blagaj which was a major spot for us to finally see :)

Hope you enjoyed this series :) next stop...

You NEED to Visit MOSTAR. Here's Why | Bosnia & Herzegovina | Ryan Pelle

Let me show you why Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina is more than just a day-trip destination. I stayed for 2 days in Mostar and it was so worth it.

Mostar is a historic city on the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's most famous for its incredibly beautiful bridge. But Mostar is more than just its bridge. It's countryside is also unbelievably beautiful.

During the Bosnian War in the 90's, Mostar is the hardest hit and most bombarded city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The war has left indelible marks on the city and its inhabitants. You can still see them when you walk around the city today.

Today, Mostar is a buzzling city full of cafes and restaurants. It's doing its hardest to heal from the effects of Bosnian war.

Here are the places I've visited during my 2-day stay in Mostar:
0:00 Intro
1:04 Fortica Skywalk
2:09 Blagaj (source of River Buna)

10 Things to do in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina Travel Guide Video Transcript: (Мостар)

Welcome to Mostar! In today’s video we’re showing you around one of the great gems of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mostar was one of the many stops of our travels through the Balkans, but it ranked right at the very top! This city is as postcard-perfect as they come, complete with Ottoman constructions, soaring minarets, and colourful buildings that overlook the emerald waters of the Neretva River. Our time here was spent wandering through the markets, sampling local dishes, and visiting a few mosques and museums along the way, so come and join us in this travel guide as we show you around Mostar (Мостар) and give you a few ideas for your own trip!

This street is lined with restaurants, cafes, and hotels, but as you approach the famed Old Bridge, it turns into a bit of a bazaar with small shops that are bursting at the seams with souvenirs.

Stari Most, also known as the Old Bridge, which is the city’s main landmark. This 16th-century Ottoman bridge joins the two parts of the city across the River Neretva.

And that’s a wrap for Mostar! This was one of our favourite destinations of 2017.

With its Ottoman architectural wonders, delicious dishes served in heaping platters, and warm locals who take hospitality to a whole new level, there’s a lot to love about the city! Mostar is strikingly beautiful, but it’s the people who give the place its soul.

Yes, the city’s been through a lot, and it still bears the scars of a horrible war fought in the 90s, but Mostar has picked itself up and is showing visitors all it has to offer.

We hope you enjoyed getting to experience this city through our eyes on this travel guide, and as always, if you have any other suggestions of things to do in Mostar, feel free to share your tips with travellers in the comments below.
