The TRUTH about the 3 Day Tour from MARRAKECH to the SAHARA DESERT (Merzouga) - IS IT WORTH IT?

Are you thinking of taking the 3 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the Sahara Desert? If so, you've found the right video!

In this video I'll take you along and show you in detail what the tour is like. I'll show the truth, the good and the bad. The driving, the sights along the way, the food, the accommodation, the timings, the costs. Everything.

It’s a popular tour for anyone visiting Morocco, and it’s the real thing right to the edge of the Sahara proper, rather than the one day tours. Before I went I couldn’t find that much information online prior to going. There was no real detail about exactly what you see, where you stay and what you eat. Also, what you get for paying a little extra for the luxury option.
This is the video I wish I had been able to watch before going.

We’ll go from Marrakech and up into the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass - The highest pass through the mountains. From there we come out the other side of the mountains and visit and amazing ancient town of Ait Ben Hadou, where many movies have been filmed. We’ll stop at the Rose valley and the Dadès Gorges before going to the hotel for the night.

On day 2, we’ll visit Tinghir and the Todgha Gorge before getting to Merzouga and riding a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes to the camp for the night.

The final day is the long journey back to Marrakech. On this day I’ll give you my full summary of the tour - the good, the bad, advice and tips.

Here's a full breakdown of what the tour involved, allowing you to go straight to any part you're interested in. Be sure to watch to the end so that you can hear my summary and useful tips!

MERZOUGA, MOROCCO (2023) | Magical Merzouga Desert Trip Overview + Honest Review

Merzouga is a small town located in the Sahara Desert in the south of Morocco. It’s known as the gateway to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes at the edge of town, consisting of soaring peaks of sand that change color with the shifting light of dawn and dusk. The most authentic way to experience the desert is on camelback, including an overnight stay at a desert camp. Many companies offer such trips, but they vary greatly in cost, comfort, and experience. In this video, we will show you our 3-day safari experience so you know what to expect from a camel trek. We will also give an honest review and different desert activity options at the end of the video.

Real Talk:
Despite our attempt at keeping our Morocco Travel Documentary as authentic as possible, you are still watching a highlight reel. When editing, we naturally tend to choose the most exciting videos. What you don’t see are the hours spent driving through less spectacular landscapes or some of the unpleasant challenges we faced.

Did we like everything about Morocco?
Far from it. As mentioned in the video, the huge amount of trash definitely dampened our experience. Additionally, we were surprised by the sheer number of begging children. During our trip, we counted a minimum of 500 children asking us for money or sweets. While Morocco undoubtedly has to combat poverty, this behavior often seemed less dictated by need and more by opportunity. Stopping and giving is an individual choice, of course, but when we didn’t we were regularly flipped off, kicked after, or hurled insults at.
In general, though, we perceived most Moroccans as extremely friendly and helpful. The best example is the three local men who selflessly helped us to change our ruptured tire. We cannot thank them enough.

Full Disclosure:
This trip was entirely self-funded. However, we did enjoy a two-night complimentary stay at La Sultana Oualidia and a two-night complimentary stay at La Sultana Marrakech.

I guarantee each time you visit the city you will find a new corner to discover, or a café to sit, and that’s the charm of Marrakech. This guide works if you travel solo as well as with family or a group of friends. My apology if I didn't pronounce any of the places correctly!

SAHARA DESERT TOUR MOROCCO | LUXURY CAMP VLOG | Dunes, Sandboarding, Camels, Moroccan Food | Part 2

This is part 2 of our 4 day desert tour to the Sahara Desert from Marrakesh to Merzouga to Fes across the beautiful country of Morocco with We trek across the Merzouga dunes by camel to our luxury desert camp for the night. Mint tea, chicken tagine, Berber music, fresh fruit, drum circles, and a quick tour of our luxury tent with double bed, bathroom and shower!! This luxury camp upgrade actually shocked us. The next day included watching the sunrise, exploring the dunes, sand-boarding, Moroccan breakfast, all before heading back on across the desert by camel again. Once we got to our hotel we chilled and swam in the most refreshing pool ever. Next was a 4x4 tour of Merzouga to see Berber music performers, panoramic views, and much more. The next day was an 8 hour drive to Fes where we stopped pretty much everywhere we could! Simply put, this trip was an experience of a lifetime.

Stay tuned for more upcoming videos, we post twice a week, every Sunday and Wednesday.

THE ULTIMATE MOROCCO TRAVEL GUIDE - Rabat, Fez, Marrakech, Casablanca & MORE ????????

Morocco, located in North Africa, combines ancient traditions with modern elements. Fez showcases its rich history through its intricate streets, while Rabat serves as the polished capital, merging historical sites with contemporary living. In Casablanca, the Hassan II Mosque is a prominent symbol of Morocco's blend of tradition and advancement. Heading south, the Sahara Desert unfolds with its expansive dunes and nomadic customs. Marrakech, known for its lively markets and atmosphere, stands out as a cultural center where Morocco's essence thrives amid the city's bustling charm. After spending three weeks in this fascinating country, we're excited to share what we believe to be a pretty great itinerary.

Everyone says that Morocco is a budget-friendly country for travelers, but have you ever wondered how affordable it actually is?
Tetouan is a hidden gem nestled away in the northern part of Morocco.
I recorded the prices of the items that I bought in a day in this beautiful city, so I’m going to share how much everything cost me in Morocco.

How I started my Channel;????????‍????
When the Pandemic hit Nashville TN, most of the businesses closed down to implement Social Distancing. And a lot of people got affected by that. I am one of them.
But I am alive and my family is healthy, so I decided not to dwell on it too much. Instead, I decided to continue cooking at Home (only this time, record myself doing it). ????

Despite of my anxiety on speaking in public specially not in my native language, I have to keep doing what I love to do. ????????‍????
Tho I couldn’t share my food to my family and friends for now, At least I get to inspire them to keep moving, keep smiling and keep living. ????????

With the help of my husband, I started making some cooking videos from my own Kitchen first. I do the editing myself. Eventually, I started recording my everyday Life. Right now, it’s not a state of the art videos but we will keep trying to do what we can to produce a great show for y’all. ????
Because despite of all what’s happening around, we always have a choice. And we choose to stand and do something good. We fall sometimes, then we come back up even stronger. ????????

I hope my videos somehow make your day a little bit better. And if you have suggestions or recipe request that you want me to do, let me know and i will try my best to make it for you.
Thank you very much for your support. ????????
