Did you know that 15 years ago the land just north of the pearl was nothing but desert? In the span of 15 years, it's become a completely new city filled with modern highrises and amenities. In this video, I take a tour of some of the newest attractions: Cresent Park, the Marina Food Park, Katara Towers, the Twin Towers and more. This city will play a big part in the 2022 World Cup and is just over 65% complete.

Lusail is a haven that is set to attract the world in the coming years. Lusail is home to a number of unique buildings that are famous amongst travelers. While the city prepares to host the world cup matches in Qatar, there are many new landmarks coming up here that are worth exploring. The first-place people lay eyes upon is Lusail Marina, one of the most stunning attractions in Lusail. Lusail marina is a place people can visit any time during the day or night and will enjoy the view of Doha’s skyline from the yachts.

MODERN QATAR: The Pearl and Lusail City????????
We take you with us for a quick tour in the Airbnb we are staying down in the Pearl Qatar. After the tour, @Mabelleofficial, and our friend Farhan go for a stroll around the pearl at sunset including a golf cart ride. After that, we head over to Food Street in Katara Cultural Village. Then we finish off the evening with another friend from Qatar who shows us some of Lusail.

Lusail is the second-largest city in Qatar, located on the coast, in the southern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail is located about 23 kilometres north of the city centre of Doha, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over 38 square kilometres and will eventually have the infrastructure to accommodate 450,000 people.Of these 450,000 people, it is estimated that 250,000 or fewer will be residents, 190,000 will be office workers and 60,000 will be retail workers.It is planned to have marinas, residential areas, island resorts, commercial districts, luxury shopping and leisure facilities, and a golf course community, man made islands and several entertainment districts. Construction is still ongoing. Development is being carried out by the state-controlled developer Qatari Diar along with Parsons Corporation and Dorsch-Gruppe.
The Lusail Stadium was one of the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and was the venue of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final. It is also the site of a Formula One race track where the first Qatar Grand Prix was held in 2021.

Qatar is building a $45 billion megacity just north of Doha. Lusail is nearing completion and expected to be ready just in time for World Cup 2022. Qatar is spending $220 billion to host World Cup 2022, so it’s no surprise that the country managed to build a megacity practically overnight. Lusail has some very expensive and unique-looking skyscrapers. The Marina Twin towers skyscraper is a bizarre-looking office building that’s reminiscent of colorful LEGO blocks stacked on top of each other. The $605 million Katara Towers skyscraper project is made up of two curved towers that join together at the base to form a horseshoe shape. When it’s finished in 2022, the skyscraper will have two hotels and hundreds of high-end apartments. The Lusail Plaza Towers project isn’t as far along as the Katara Towers project will consist of two sets of twin towers built on four symmetrical linear podiums. The Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company was just awarded a $526 million contract to build two of the development's four skyscrapers. World Cup 2022 will be held in eight different venues and five different host cities, but Lusail will be the site of both the opening ceremonies and the final match. Both events will be held at the $4 billion Lusail Iconic Stadium which is currently under construction. The 80,000 capacity stadium will be finished just in time for the World Cup, but after the tournament ends there will be further modifications.
