Living Off-Grid on a Tiny House Homestead for 6 Years

x

We Built An Off Grid Tiny House (from start to finish)

When Lou pitched me the idea of living in a wall tent for the summer, I have to admit I was a little skeptical. We have experienced a lot of different off grid living situations (van life, boat life, and a cottage in the jungle), but a tent seemed a little crazy. But this wall tent is so much more than I could have dreamed of! It really is more like a tiny house than a tent, and all of the details make it feel like a real home. I can't wait to make memories together as a family here.

Living off-grid does provide a bunch of challenges, but with the solar system that Lou installed and the fact that this property came with a well, I think we'll be in pretty good shape as we begin our homesteading journey. We have so much to learn and so much to build, but this wall tent feels like the perfect tiny house for us to start this new adventure.

This video literally would not be here if it weren't for Lou. He put in countless hours on this build while I was pregnant and also the first month postpartum with our son Max. We're so used to building things as a team, but for this project, he got creative and figured out a way to make due mostly on his own, not only building this dreamy wall tent but also filming and editing the entire thing by himself. I am so grateful and proud of all his hard work and feel so lucky to have this man in my life. And also so thankful for all of you and your support as we grew our family and took the time we needed to bond and figure out this whole parenthood thing. It feels really special to be making content again, and we are both so excited to get settled into tent life!

Big hugs,
Dana

Treehouses, fale's, and the answer to the question, “what happens when you sail to a place you love so much you don’t want to leave.”

WHO ARE WE?

We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for 10 years.
Our first six years of #travel were an epic road trip around North America.
Now we’re on a #sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not!
Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild #adventure and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible.
We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life.
And this is why we publish our lives on the world wide web. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure.

Norway's most remote Cabin - Off-grid tiny house Lyngstuva in the Lyngen Alps - North & Beyond Ep. 6

I made a winter hike to one of the most unique and remote cabin in Northern Norway. The old lighthouse keeper cabin Lyngstuva is located at the far end of the Lyngen Alps. This place is far away from any roads or houses, you will be all by your own. The cabin has no electricity or water connection.
It was build in 1922 to store the lamp oil for the lighthouse. In 1993 two guys from Berlin came and started to refurbish the almost broken-down cabin. You can stay in this cabin so long as you want without any costs.

Going Off Grid! Our Cabin Design and Inspiration for a Tiny House Build.

#GoingOffGrid is hard work, but it will be so worth it! We could not do this without the help of our family and friends! We drove down for the weekend to finish up some mudding of the drywall this weekend! In this Vlog, we will show you our design inspiration for the inside of our cabin. In the last episode, we tore apart the inside of our one-room cabin and replaced the insulation and drywall! Because this is somewhat of a tiny house at only 20x20 feet we built a loft to use as a bedroom! This was just the first step of many cabin renovations and we are so excited to share this journey with you all!

Growin up together as high school sweethearts, we got married at 19 years old in August of 2016. We have always dreamed of a life of adventure! We started traveling the US any free weekend we had, finding free campgrounds wherever we could, and converting our truckbed into a home for three weeks to make the trip across the country. After 4 years of college and 2 corporate jobs, we decided this typical lifestyle is not for us. Because of RONA, our jobs let us work remotely full time and so we decided to take the leap. We started this #goingoffgridvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but hope to share helpful tips along the way! We have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to be able to jump into this lifestyle. :)

Life Alone in the Forest, Off grid Cabin Far North, Tiny House in the Woods. The Full film.

Off-Grid Forest Garden, Living off the Land in the Log Cabin, Planting Fruit Trees | Homestead

Living off the land in the wild forest is hard, but in this issue I tried to make the most fertile land in the forest where I could grow vegetables and fruits. I found good fertile black soil near the river. Growing food means creating fertile soil with whatever rotting material is available in the season(For fertilizer, I sprinkled the soil with ashes). I also made a flower bed near my log cabin where I planted flowers and a small tree. I am very interested if I can grow something on this land, if you are also interested, subscribe to the channel so as not to miss.

Off Grid Living in a OLD Log Cabin | Building My NEW Homestead, Cooking

Hi everyone!
This week I decided to visit my old log cabin. I cooked meat with mushrooms, vegetables and potatoes in a cauldron. I am glad that my Cabin, which I built a year ago, is still standing and everything is in order. After a good breakfast, I went to continue building a new Homestead on my site. I had to make some wood scaffolding for the log cabin so I can safely work on the walls as they get taller.
I also have a lot of beautiful wildlife shots that I took last week, you can see it at the end of the video. I hope you will enjoy

I am continuing to build my own log cabin (on my 2 hectares), which will later serve as a sauna, shower room and a small room where I can relax, while building my real big house and my farm for me and my family. In addition, my goal is to learn to live a more self-reliant life.
All my construction and my life in the forest will be documented on this channel Bjorn Brenton
