The story of Detroit is a story of mistakes in social and economic policies. Once the center of America’s automotive industry, today the city looks more like a ghost town. When the majority of the population left Detroit, their houses were burnt down, leaving nothing but wastelands behind. Will new buildings save the city from complete extinction or will all the efforts to recover this ghost town go in vain? Let’s find out!

WP-1 No. 7200 - Steam Loco Shahenshah

Shahenshah, the WP-1 # 7200 bullet-nose steam engine arrives at Delhi Safdarjang Station for the parade of steam engines in Delhi, India, on 02-Feb-2007.

==== About the WP-7200 ====

The bullet nosed WP locomotives were the mainstay of the broad gauge passenger train operations on Indian Railways for a very long time until the last steam engine retired in 1995.

The exhibit identified by the number WP-7200, is one of the 16 prototypes that were received from USA before their production was started at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works. This engine was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia, USA in 1947 and was owned by the GIP Railway which later became Central Railway.

It weighs 102.4 tonnes, has a gauge of 5' 6 and has a wheel arrangement of 4-6-2. It was retired from service in May 1987.
The locomotive is maintained in running condition by the Rewari Steam Loco shed.

????????Disney MONORAIL: RIDE UP FRONT with Pilot on the Epcot Beam

Hi. I'm a Gay Travel YouTuber located in Orlando, Florida. Let's take a ride in the nose of a Disney Monorail along with a Monorail Pilot on the Epcot beam. This is a view no longer available as a regular visitor to the theme parks. It's amazing to see the panoramic views from being in the front of the Monorail! There is also some bonus footage of a hyperlapse from the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Contemporary Resort. Let's Go!

Disneyland Mark VII Monorail - June 9, 2015 - Downtown Disney to Tomorrowland

During our family trip to Disneyland in June 2015 we did not ride the monorail as much as we did in previous trips. I also didn’t record a lot of monorail footage like I did in the past. In 2009 the Share a Dream kids got to ride in the back cab and in 2005 I rode in the front and the back several times, and taped it with my camcorder. All those videos are under my “Disneyland” playlist. During our 2015 trip, monorail footage wasn’t my top priority. After an affordable lunch of Wetzel’s Pretzels at Downtown Disney we decided to ride the monorail back into the park, instead of walking to the front entrance.

I have written lots of descriptions of the Disneyland Monorail so this description is copied from a Mark VII posted already. This description was copied from:

On July 3, 2008, Monorail Red was the first Mark VII monorail to begin transporting guests at Disneyland. One by one the old Mark V monorails were converted into the new Mark VIIs. WDW got the Mark VI monorails. Monorail Blue began service on September 16, 2008 and Monorail Orange on April 7, 2009. A few months later I rode the new Orange. For the opening of Cars Land in 2012 the monorails got a temporary themed wrap. Each train got its own personality and spiel, like it was a character in Cars. Monorail Blue became Mandy Monorail, Red became Manny Monorail, and Orange was Mona Monorail. On January 25, 2023 the Disneyland Monorail got a new 100th Anniversary wrap, celebrating 100 years of the Disney company. It sparkled in rainbow colors when the sun shined on it and it displayed Chip & Dale, Mickey & Minnie, Donald & Daisy, and Pluto & Goofy. It read “Disney 100”.

The design of the Mark VII monorails are similar to the Mark III, notably the nose cone and full color. The seats inside the five cars were redesigned to face outward, so guests get to look out the newly tinted windows as they ride. The front and back of the cars have seats facing in toward the train. A total of 22 riders can be seated inside each car. The windows have a new tilt-out feature instead of the old slide down windows of the Mark V. For safety, the tilt-out windows cannot open too far making the monorail cars too hot to operate in the summer. Some vents were added in the roof hatches, but that did not help. If the temperature is too hot the front cab cannot accept guests with the pilot and the monorail probably won’t run altogether.

After the redesign in 2009 the Tomorrowland Monorail Station was changed to accept guests on the right side instead of the old speed ramp on the left. Travelers enter the station from the front near the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and head right. The old area on the left where the speed ramp was is now the queue line for Finding Nemo.

Inside the cab, the monorail pilots have a rear-view monitor next to them, so they can see behind the train and to the sides.

The lead designer of the Mark VII Monorail project was imagineer Scott Drake. Beneath the seats are gorgeous blue lights as well as a light up “Mark VII Monorail” sign inside. This is one of my favorite touches. The Mark VIIs were built on the old chassis of the Mark V (& Mark III). Imagineering hired TPI Composites in Warren, Rhode Island, to build the nose and tail sections. Dynamic Structures in Vancouver, Canada, manufactured the Mark VII trains. The cars were transported to Disneyland and placed by crane onto the beam.

Behind It’s a Small World you can see the Monorail Shop, which is where the monorails are housed for the night and serviced. From the monorail and Disneyland Railroad you can briefly see the Shop in the back corner of Disneyland. The railroad roundhouse is in this building on the ground floor, with the monorails above it. Monorails heading home for the night will stop at the switchbeam and wait for it to align with the spur line. Once the monorail is on the spur it will go through the appropriate switch to take it to its parking spot for the night.

Inside the Shop lives the all mighty monorail work tractor. This diesel powered machine is powerful enough to tow a fully loaded monorail back to its station, in case of break downs. The work tractor could also be used for beam inspections, tree trimming, cleaning, painting, and electrical repair. It does not run on the 600 volts of power from the beam.

Nostalgia Alert! Remembering Disney’s Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure | MGM Studios 1991

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: Movie Set Adventure was a playground at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. It was located in the Streets of America area and was based on Disney's 1989 film, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. The playground, which opened a year and a half after the film, featured 30-foot-tall (9.1 m) blades of grass, and was themed as a movie set for the giant backyard scenes from the film. Kids could roam through the playground, exploring giant ants and a huge dog's nose.

On January 15, 2016, Disney's Hollywood Studios announced that the Streets of America section, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: Movie Set Adventure and Lights, Motors, Action!: Extreme Stunt Show would be permanently closed. They operated for the final time on April 2, 2016 and were demolished to make room for the construction of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge on the same site.
