Miniatur Wunderland ~ behind the scenes
My Euro trip to Hamburg in December was planned as a planespotting trip for my Members. As it was, the weather (for once) caught me out, but when I arrived, I managed to get 25 minutes in from the observation deck and even got a clean shot of that amazing Lufthansa Retro 321, which, ironically enough, was one of the first jets I saw at Knuffinghen Airport - the name for Miniatur Wunderland’s Airport.
This is an incredible operation, run by a team of amazing creators and artists, as well as a well stocked shop, the staff are friendly, happy and helpful.
I managed to get a look behind the scenes at Knuffinghen international. I also managed to get some great footage for the Members before the school kids arrived, who were only a little more excited than me!
So here’s a compressed video of our two hour show with our Members. First off you’ll see these amazing artists at work in their workshops, the the incredible control station and then onto an exclusive look behind the scenes and how they make the planes move as well as the amazing lighting.
The day turns to night around every 10 minutes.

Cherries On A Blacklist, 21.10.2016 Hamburg
Cherries On A Blacklist is a rock band currently located in Hamburg, Germany formed by Andreas (Guitar/Vocals), George (Guitar Vocals), Malapert (Drums/Vocals), and Gonzo (Bass). Three of the band members originate from Rhodes/Greece and one from Monterrey/Mexico. Gonzo replaced former bassist and vocalist Sebastian Knop in 2009.

Indie elctro band Vök—comprised of Andri Mar on sax, Margret Ran on vocals, Olafur Alexander on bass—are one of my favorite new bands coming out of Iceland right now. Their dream pop tunes have been compared to everyone from The Knife and The xx to Poliça and Phantogram, but their music is distinctly their own.
Vök formed specifically to enter a battle of the bands competition in Iceland. The problem: They didn't actually have any songs to perform. Within a mater of weeks, Vök composed a series of tracks and performed them for the very first time during the battle of the bands. And you guessed it ... Vök won the competition.
Since then, Vök have rocked Iceland Airwaves, toured Europe and released their EP 'Tension' on iTunes, available for purchase here:
Fans (myself included) can't wait to hear what Vök come out with in the coming year. According to band members, their full-length release will be out in spring 2015.

We recently attended the VIP grand opening of the ZAL Tech Center in Hamburg – cameraman in tow – to give you a sneak-preview of this €100 million stronghold of technological aviation know-how, bright minds and progressive working methodology. 2013 ECLS G Scale Trains Show - Aikenback Live Steamers
Welcome to the East Coast Large Scale Train Show in York PA. This video edition features the Aickenback Live Steamers running live steam G Scale Trains. The video features a SP Cab Forward and SP Daylight which are both live steam in action. Then also featured is a DRGW C16 and a NYC Hudson also both live steam. Finally the Accucraft Prototype NYC Dreyfuss Live Steam Locomotive is captured in action.
On another note there is a wonderful girl who is in a wheel chair by the name of Brittany Grimm. She is a 20 year old college student and avid steamer who has been in the hobby since about age 14. She is an active member of the PA Live Steamers and runs 1.5 in/ft live steam at the club as well as gauge 1. She comes to the East Coast Large Scale Train Show and runs live steam locomotives and does a fine job.
