VILNIUS TOURS AND THINGS TO DO:
Vilnius (Lithuanian pronunciation: [ˈvʲɪlʲnʲʊs] ( listen); Polish: Wilno, see also other names) is the capital of Lithuania and its largest city, with a population of 542,664 as of 2015. Vilnius is located in the southeast part of Lithuania and is the second largest city in the Baltic states. Vilnius is the seat of the main government institutions of Lithuania as well as of the Vilnius District Municipality. Vilnius is classified as a Gamma global city according to GaWC studies, and is known for the architecture in its Old Town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Its Jewish influence until the 20th century has led to it being described as the Jerusalem of Lithuania and Napoleon named it the Jerusalem of the North as he was passing through in 1812. In 2009, Vilnius was the European Capital of Culture, together with the Austrian city of Linz.

A land of wood and water, proud, independent Lithuania (Lietuva) is fast being recognised as one of Europe's gems. Southernmost of the Baltic states, it's a pocket-sized republic that's a nature-lover's delight, yet lacks nothing in urban excitement.
Vilnius
The capital is a beguiling artists’ enclave, its timeworn courtyards, cobbled streets and baroque churches animated by the vibrant, optimistic culture of today.
Kaunas
A sprawling city 100km west of Vilnius at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris Rivers, has a compact Old Town, an abundance of artistic and educational museums, and a fascinating history. A sizeable student population provides plenty of energy, and some rough edges give it that extra bit of spice.
Trakai
With its red-brick, fairy-tale castle, Karaites culture, quaint wooden houses and pretty lakeside location, Trakai is a must-see just 28km from the capital. Most of the town stands on a 2km-long, north-pointing tongue of land between Lake Luka (east) and Lake Totoriškių (west). Lake Galvė opens out from the northern end of the peninsula and boasts 21 islands. Gediminas probably made Trakai his capital in the 1320s and Kęstutis certainly based his 14th-century court here. Protected by the 82-sq-km Trakai Historical National Park, Trakai today is a quiet town, outside summer weekends.

This summer, I was touring in Lithuania and Latvia for the first time! Never thought that I’d actually end up going to these countries if I hadn’t met Dominykas!
We spent most of the time in Siauliai and Vilnius. They were amazing and the weather was warm and just nice! We spent one day in Riga for water skiing and to tour around the city.
The trips were fun filled and places were not too touristy. I enjoyed it very much!
