Hitting the streets of San José, Costa Rica ????????

Hitting the streets of San José, Costa Rica I explored the churches, markets, monuments, and neighborhoods of this city. I started off walking down the main boulevard and came across the central square. I walked the length of the 'high street' of San José taking in the hecticness of the city. The following day I made my way around the central market and then headed to Barrio Amón. Barrio Amón is a beautiful and green neighborhood where you can find the incredible architecture of the old houses that were owned by the coffee growers of the 19th century.

San Jose Costa Rica Vacation Travel Guide | 90+ Countries with 3 Kids

Welcome to San José, the vibrant capital and largest city of Costa Rica!

If you are looking for a combination of cosmopolitan urban center on the one hand, and traditional Central American city on the other, you will definitely love San José. Costa Rica’s capital is relatively young since it wasn’t established until 1738. That was the moment when Spanish authorities decided they should collect their indigenous people into one locale.

The city didn’t grow that quickly, in the early 1800s, San José was still just the size of an average village, but today it is home to more than a third of Costa Rica’s population. About 2.15 million people live here.

If you are planning on visiting Costa Rica and its colorful capital, you should have in mind that the temperatures here are tropical. 30 degrees C is something that could happen during any month of the year, but the daily mean is around 22-23 degrees C all-year-round. Rainy season starts in May and ends in October. The wettest month is September, the hottest one is April, while the coldest one is October, but those differences are barely noticeable.

Enjoy the video!!!
