Liechtenstein (Europe) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Liechtenstein in Europe.
In the middle of the triangular border of Germany, Austria and Switzerland lies a treasure of the European Alps, the Principality of Liechtenstein. Hardly anywhere else in Central Europe has experienced such a rapid transformation from a dreamy agrarian state into one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Bendern, part of the village of Gamprin, is one of eleven municipalities and lies to the south-west side of the Eschner Mountain. The view glides across the foothills of the romantic Rhine Valley and up to the massive Swiss Schwäg-Alp. The Schaedler ceramics workshop in Nendeln is one of the oldest commercial enterprises in Liechtenstein and features handmade works of art. Since 1836, they have specialised in earthenware, exclusive ceramic art and tilted stoves. Schaan forms the border to the Oberland, a charming municipality with an attractive town centre. A parish hall and provision of good restaurants reflect the success of the global companies that are located there. Liechtenstein Castle looms majestically above Vaduz, the capital. Saint Florin is located on the edge of the old town it was built in 1868 in Neo-Gothic style and in 1997 officially dedicated as a cathedral. From the Sareiser Joch there are several trails along the ridge such as the Princess Gina Route that traverses various mountains of the border triangle. More than four hundred well marked hiking trails are offered throughout Liechtenstein, plus a hundred and sixty kilometres in the Alps. The Principality is a treasure trove of both landscape and culture with mountains, pastures, castles, fortresses and museums. But Liechtenstein has also become a small, modern state with a vital and indelible focus on finance and industry, a tiny paradise that is also an important economic power.

Liechtenstein Travel Guide

Liechtenstein is the sixth smallest country in the world (roughly the size of Washington, D.C.). It has a historic castle, bustling downtown, vineyard, and some of the most memorable hiking in the Alps. Vaduz is the nation’s capital and where you will most likely start your Liechtenstein adventure. It’s the starting point for the Via Alpina ( and where you can get your passport stamped (at the Tourism Office). For the best hiking, you’ll head to the charming resort town of Malbun. Don’t forget to try the national dish of Käsknöpfle!

Liechtenstein Travel Video Guide

Liechtenstein Travel Video Guide: The Principality of Liechtenstein (German: Fürstentum Liechtenstein) is a small, alpine German-speaking country doubly landlocked by Switzerland and Austria. It is the last remnant of the Holy Roman Empire and an independent nation with very close ties to Switzerland. It enjoys a very high standard of living and is home to some incredibly beautiful mountain scenery. The principality's capital, Vaduz, is mainly a modern city and a major centre of commerce and international banking.

The Principality of Liechtenstein was established within the Holy Roman Empire in 1719 and became a sovereign state in 1806. Until the end of World War I, it was closely tied to Austria, but the economic devastation caused by that conflict forced Liechtenstein to conclude a customs and monetary union with Switzerland. Since World War II (in which Liechtenstein remained neutral), the country's low taxes have spurred outstanding economic growth.

Shortcomings in banking regulatory oversight have resulted in concerns about the use of the financial institutions for money laundering and tax evasion. However, the days of bringing suitcases of money into banks for deposit without questions asked is over. Liechtensteiners are also very proud of the fact that their nation has never been physically involved in a battle or military confrontation with an enemy state and see their flag as a banner of peace.

Germany (Europe) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Germany.
Germany is situated in the middle of Europe and is a land of diverse culture and tradition, from Bavarian homeliness in the south, and mediaeval splendour within its centre, to its flourishing lifestyle in the east and large commercial cities in the north, it is a country which extends from the Alps to the North Sea. The episcopal city of Passau nestles between hills at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz. High above the rivers and strategically perched on a rock is the castle complex of Veste Oberhaus, imposing and impregnable. The salt trade enriched the town and Italian baroque masters were allowed to create the cityscape of the historic old town. Beginning in Würzburg On The Main, the Romantic Road leads to various well known historic cities, castles and palaces. Between 1642 and the middle of the eighteenth century, three prince-bishops gave the city its Baroque architecture and also the castle known as The Residence. Nuremberg is the ‘secret capital’ of German Franconia and ‘treasure trove of the German Reich’, the epitome of German romanticism and tradition with a long history and also bitter memories of quite recent times. An Imperial City which indeed became the City Of Party Rallies but which has never lost its benevolent spirit. Dresden is the capital of the German free state of Saxony, a major centre of culture with a remarkable history. Although almost completely destroyed at the end of the Second World War and for many years hidden behind the Iron Curtain, today the city shines out in all of its former splendour. Hamburg is a lively metropolis in the north of Germany and for many centuries was a gateway to the world and a work of art with many different faces. Each year on the seventh of May, Harbour Birthday is celebrated when people from all over the world gather within the various galleries of the landing stages to celebrate a huge festival. With its culture and many diverse and beautiful landscapes, Germany is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.

Switzerland (part 1) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Vacation travel video guide about destination Switzerland, part 1.
The Alpine Republic of Switzerland occupies the midpoint of the centre of Central Europe. A country with a diverse culture of different traditions. Here reside a united people of brothers, who in August 1291 united an established protective alliance into a Swiss Confederation.

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland. Its origins stem back to the Roman base of Turicum and has been a member of the Swiss Confederation since 1351.
Near Schaffhausen a world-famous wonder of nature was created, the Rhine Falls.
Romanshorn on Lake Constance is our first stop. In Rheineck, sense of the medieval is omnipresent. Gothic town houses with gables, bay windows and facade paintings.
St. Gallen is alluring with its crooked alleys with Late-Gothic half-timbered houses.
Nearby is the enclave Appenzell.
Küssnacht at the Lake Lucerne recollects Swiss history and Schiller's Wilhelm Tell can really be felt all around. Lucerne and its lake are one of the most important destinations for tourists.
St. Moritz is surrounded by mountains that invite skiers in winter and hikers and mountaineers in summer.
The town of Chur is located in East Switzerland, at the upper end of the Rhine-Valley. Since the Roman times, the St. Gotthard-Pass has led the way south to Ticino. Bellinzona, the capital of the Swiss canton of Ticino is situated at the foot of the mighty St. Gotthard massif.
Locarno stretches elegantly along the west bank of the Lake Maggiore. Brissago is located near the border to Italy. Ascona, the noble holiday resort at Lake Maggiore with its pleasantly mild climate is a picturesque old town.
In the wide semi-circular bay of Lake Lugano lies the city of Lugano. A boat trip sets sail for Gandria in the north. We take the boat to the other side of the lake to Morcote.
Ticino is the paradise in the south of Switzerland.

Liechtenstein (/ˈlɪktənstaɪn/ (About this soundlisten) LIK-tən-styne; German: [ˈlɪçtn̩ʃtaɪn]), officially the Principality of Liechtenstein (German: Fürstentum Liechtenstein),[8] is a German-speaking microstate situated in the Alps and in the southwest of Central Europe.[9] The principality is a semi-constitutional monarchy headed by the Prince of Liechtenstein; the Prince's extensive powers are equivalent to those of a President in a semi-presidential system.

Liechtenstein is bordered by Switzerland to the west and south and Austria to the east and north. It is Europe's fourth-smallest country, with an area of just over 160 square kilometres (62 square miles) and a population of 38,557.[10] Divided into 11 municipalities, its capital is Vaduz, and its largest municipality is Schaan. It is also the smallest country to border two countries.[11] Liechtenstein is one of only two doubly landlocked countries in the world, along with Uzbekistan.

Economically, Liechtenstein has one of the highest gross domestic products per person in the world when adjusted for purchasing power parity.[12] It was once known as a billionaire tax haven, but is no longer on any blacklists of uncooperative tax haven countries.

An Alpine country, Liechtenstein is mountainous, making it a winter sport destination. The country has a strong financial sector centered in Vaduz. Liechtenstein is a member of the United Nations, the European Free Trade Association, and the Council of Europe, and although not a member of the European Union, it participates in both the Schengen Area and the European Economic Area. It also has a customs union and a monetary union with Switzerland.

How to spend 1 day in Liechtenstein | Europe Travel Vlog

Subscribe to my channel:

I didn't have any expectations coming to Liechtenstein.. it was just to tempting no to, so had to do it:)
I was only here 24 hours, but was able to get a good sense of this little principality.
What I saw was beautiful, I walked the most of any of the days on this hole trip and that's saying a lot:) Went through the Prince's vineyard which was so stunning and idylic.
The vadudz castle, the the actual prince lives has a stunning view. I made sure to take my time and really open my senses and take it all in.

This is something I love to do, and when I travel alone it's a lot easier. Traveling with other people is fun of course, but traveling alone has some serious purks as well:)

On the walk down I actually got a bit emotional, realizing that I finally made it to the alp.. I have always wanted to come here, but this time I prioritized, spend the money and the happines I felt from taking my self serious and achieving my dream was overwhelming:)
Liechtenstein is a great little country:)

Liechtenstein Adventure Travel

Liechtenstein Adventure Travel: It's true, Liechtenstein makes a fabulous wine-and-cheese-hour trivia subject -- Did you know it was the sixth smallest country?... It's still governed by an iron-willed monarch who lives in a Gothic castle on a hill... Yes, it really is the world's largest producer of dentures... But if you're visiting this pocket-sized principality solely for the cocktail-party bragging rights, keep the operation covert. This theme-park micronation takes its independence seriously and would shudder at the thought of being considered for novelty value alone. Liechtenstein would rather be remembered for its stunning natural beauty.

Despite its small size and limited natural resources, Liechtenstein has developed into a prosperous, highly industrialized, free-enterprise economy with a vital financial service sector and living standards on a par with the urban areas of its large European neighbors. The Liechtenstein economy is widely diversified with a large number of small businesses. Low business taxes--the maximum tax rate is 20%--and easy incorporation rules have induced a large number of holding or so-called letter box companies to establish nominal offices in Liechtenstein, providing 30% of state revenues.

Enjoy Your Liechtenstein Adventure Travel!
