Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. Oistins is an active fishing town on the south coast of Barbados and is a hub of activity on weekend nights and perfect place to catch some sun on the beach during the day.
Whenever you see a photo or postcard of Barbados, it’s likely to have an incredible shot of a white sand, azure water beach on, right? Well, this is THAT beach. One of the best beaches in Barbados, Miami (or Enterprise) Beach is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The powdery soft white sand beach stretches for a good distance into the sea, making it the perfect spot for a bit of swimming in the warm water. The beach is divided into two sections by a rock breakwater. The west side is one of the premier swimming spots on the island, with deep, calm and crystal-clear waters, while the east side has a wide recreation area featuring picnic tables under shady evergreen pines and almond trees. There hasn't always been a beach here. The sea used to bash up against the road, but when the coast guard moved into the area it constructed a breakwater that resulted in masses of soft white sand washing up on both sides of the structure. The coast guard has since moved on, leaving the beach blissfully free of development.

We arrive in Barbados, check into our Airbnb, then go exploring! After relaxing on the beaches of Barbados’s south coast, we take the minibus taxi’s and buses to pass through the beautiful countryside to Bathsheba, then across to some more beautiful beaches to the south of Speightstown.
