Lebanon - A Tiny but Mind-blowing Middle Eastern Country

Why Lebanese People Want Me To Smile? | ????????

#shorts
►Pimsleur Language Course 7 day FREE trial:

Lebanon! a very misunderstood, beautiful, and tiny country in the middle east, with the most positive-minded people I’ve ever met. We, the rest of the world have so much to learn from them in terms of resilience, perseverance and positivity

This amazing place has been devastated by an unprecedented economic crisis which got even worse after a sad accidental explosion in the middle of the city a couple of years ago In my experience, a country going through difficult times like this is usually a sad place to visit, but it was absolutely the opposite.

I am leaving Lebanon full of motivation and truly inspired because I had the honor to encounter and interact with humans who have a clear vision of what actually matters in this world. They have a perspective on life that is contagious, in which bad times are temporary and the reasons to be happy are related to gratefulness and the capability to spend time with loved ones . And I think you will agree that this is a lesson for life.

Thank you to everyone in this video, especially to Ilda Nahas for approaching me to make my day expecting nothing in return, for, letting me film and for being such an inspiration to me and everyone around.

The First Impressions of Lebanon During Economic Crisis ???????? الانطباعات الأولى عن لبنان

After exploring Jordan in the Middle East it was time for a new country. Regardless of hearing so many times from other travelers and friends that it is not the right time for Lebanon, I still booked my flights and arrived in Beirut - the capital city.

The first thing first, the economical crisis is real and the situation of the country does not get any better. The value of the local currency drops day by day. As of mid-December, I changed 200 USD to around 5 million Lebanese Pounds. Which is a huge amount of cash to carry around.

There was an explosion in the port in 2020, and you still see so many abandoned buildings by the sea - broken windows, destroyed walls - some of them you can see in the video.

Overall I am enjoying my stay in this beautiful country and planning to stay longer. The most important people are so lovely! So you should expect more content from Lebanon. For now, enjoy the first impressions video from Beirut.

Beirut, Lebanon || Exploring the Past, Present, and Future

Beirut was my first stop on a 10 day tour of Lebanon. It’s the small countries largest city and is beautifully situated on the Mediterranean coast, surrounded by mountains. The city has a beautiful blend of cultures and perfectly merges it's legendary past with a modern, vibrant way of life. The city has been through a lot in recent history, but the cities resilience is a testament to how vital this middle eastern city is to the region. The city is rising from the ashes but there is still so many scars of a tumultuous past that are very interesting to see and explore. I had a few days here, and this is how it went….

Exploring Beirut, Lebanon in 2022: NOT what you think!

Lebanon – a country I never thought I’d visit so early.
I didn’t know anything about this small nation in the middle east. I only heard about Beirut in context of the explosion in 2020 and of course people told me it’s super dangerous there.
But surprise surprise: Beirut is an incredible city and I would love to visit again.
After watching the video myself though, I have to say that I didn’t talk enough about the gravity of the economic situation in the country. The local currency is super fragile and everyone that doesn’t get paid in USD has no chance to live a good life.
Also, the whole country has a big electricity shortage, which is also caused by the economic situation.
Unfortunately, I only learned about the gravity of this topic in the last evening in the country (after coming back from Syria) so it’s not part of the video. But still: Lebanon is a beautiful country with amazing people and incredible food! Can’t wait to go back!

Lebanon Travel Guide

Lebanon is a small country in the Middle East on the Mediterranean Sea with 3.7 million people, and its capital is the old city of Beirut. It has a long shoreline on the Mediterranean Sea's eastern shore.
Lebanon has a long and illustrious history.

The country is littered with Phoenician, Egyptian, Greek, Persian, Roman, Arab, Crusader, and Ottoman remains, the most important of which are easily accessible. Byblos, Beirut, Tyre, and Sidon are among the world's oldest continually inhabited cities. In Beirut, there are Roman baths, as well as the Cardio Maximus, to name a few. Byblos is also rich in Crusader ruins. Lebanon has many old mosques, synagogues, and churches.

Lebanon has a diverse natural landscape, ranging from gorgeous beaches to mountains and valleys. The country is one of the few nations where you can go skiing in the morning and then go to the beach in the afternoon.

Lebanon is an amazing and diverse Mediterranean Middle Eastern country with beautiful cosmopolitan cities, rich local cuisine, and fascinating history from the Phoenicians, to Rome, to Biblical stories- Lebanon is perfect for the history buff. Walk through an ancient ruin, party in one of Beirut’s trendy nighclubs, take a dip in the Mediterranean’s warm waters, and enjoy some of the best Middle Eastern food in this beautiful and friendly country. Though this country has gone through some turbulent times in recent decades, it is still a relatively safe country and should definitely be visited in your lifetime.

Journey from Beirut to Byblos, Lebanon (One of the Oldest Cities in the World) ????????
