HELLO FROM COUNTRY #172 - ERITREA!
I'm thrilled to be back in Africa where I will spend the remaining 3 months of the year! Many of you probably haven’t heard of Eritrea before and that’s because it’s a relatively new country and it’s notoriously difficult to enter (top 5 in the world). After 48 hours of roaming around the capital of Asmara and the ancient port city of Massawa, I’ve really enjoyed my time here.
I’m getting flashbacks to when I was in Ethiopia, yet also touches of Yemen Somaliland and Italy. Yes - ITALY! Eritrea is a former Italian colony and their influence is remarkably well-preserved in the form of giant cathedrals, pizza parlors, gelato shops, old Italian cars, appertivos and many people can still speak fluent Italiano.
The capital of Asmara is VERY safe, with kind-hearted people and surprisingly the weather is cold here (2,400 meters high). Unfortunately due to WiFi issues, I haven't been able to upload anything until now, but there’s no hurry because life is wonderful here! More to come soon ????????

Why Living Like A..?:
Living Like A Palauan was an idea I had prior to Palau had I immersed myself deeply and naturally into the culture. And because I did, that idea quickly took off with the video project underway Mid November until this week.
But Living Like A.. didnt begin in Palau, it actually began 5 years ago in the Kingdom Of Tonga????????, where I was so blessed to be able to stay in a village on the island group of Vava'u.
Little did I know, my curiosity of the ways Tongans live their lives allowed me to, in the short time that i stayed, LIVE LIKE A TONGAN.
Living Like A Tongan was my very first true culturally immersive experience in my travels and to this day is very special to me, as well as the thousands of Tongans that watch it. It opened the door to a whole new inner passion of mine and that was learning about world cultures. ????
Living Like a Tongan happened to be one of my biggest Youtube videos and has beautifully brought so many proud Tongans to my video and to my channel, thanking me for loving their culture and taking the time to show the Tongan way.
Living Like A Palaun is very much all of this with the same heart, love, and passion for culture. The only difference now, my camera gear is far better and my storytelling and post editing skills are through the roof.
Which means, the ability to extend the voices of Palau and represent a whole culture is far greater. ????????

Climate change never felt more real to my eyes until I arrived here in KIRIBATI - a small island nation in the Central Pacific Ocean.
The rising sea levels are quickly shrinking this country, which has a peak altitude of 3 meters. It's projected to be entirely underwater by the year 2100.
While many countries are feeling the impacts of climate change, nobody is more threatened right now than the 100,000+ residents of Kiribati.
The question now becomes, how do we prevent the people here from becoming climate refugees? The only 4 options I can think of are the following:
1. Build a higher sea wall (which will cost billions of USD)
2. Buy land overseas for them to relocate (will also cost a fortune)
3. Send more Kiribati citizens abroad (i.e. Australia and New Zealand) for jobs, and they can slowly adapt to a new life
4. Boost tourism in Kiribati so people can see firsthand the effects of climate change, which will also pump money back into the economy
Would love to get your thoughts on what we can do to help the wonderful people of Kiribati. I encourage you all to get creative and share your best solutions below. I will be reading and responding to as many comments as I can, and I encourage you to do the same. This is important.

Funafuti, Tuvalu, Pacific Ocean - the classrooms of a local school in the city of Funafuti, Tuvalu. Let's visit the beautiful (and very isolated) country of Tuvalu in the Pacific Ocean (a number of atolls, really, 3 hour north by plane from Fiji) and go inside the country's largest primary school in the city of Funafuti for a very rare view inside the classrooms. Never videotaped before, this is the Nauti Primary School, in Tuvalu, Pacific Ocean, and we will look at the books and get a feeling of the classrooms in this very rate video...
Tuvalu, in the South Pacific, is an independent island nation within the British Commonwealth. Its 9 islands comprise small, thinly populated atolls and reef islands with palm-fringed beaches and WWII sites. Off Funafuti, the capital, the Funafuti Conservation Area offers calm waters for diving and snorkelling among sea turtles and tropical fish, plus several uninhabited islets sheltering sea birds.
