Laos Reopens Borders to International Tourists
Laos fully reopened to tourism on May 9, 2022.
All foreign tourists can now visit Laos, but some COVID-19 requirements still remain in place.
This video explains who can travel to Laos from May 2022, and the COVID-19 entry requirements.
A vaccination certificate and COVID-19 test are still required to travel to Laos.
Visitors from countries that do not have a visa-waiver agreement with Laos must apply for an entry visa.
Travellers from Australia, Canada, and the United States, among other countries, can apply for a visa for Laos online.
They must meet the general visa requirements for Laos, as well as the COVID-19 requirements.
Entry rules for vaccinated tourists
Foreigners who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can enter Laos with fewer restrictions.
Travellers with valid proof of full vaccination do not need to have a COVID-19 test before traveling to Laos by air, land, or sea.
They will be required to show their vaccine certificate to enter.
All the required doses of an approved vaccine should have been administered at least 14 days before departure.....

Laos is a relatively safe country for tourists, although certain areas remain off-limits because of unexploded ordnance left over from decades of warfare.
Petty crime is more common in Vang Vieng than just about anywhere else in Laos, with drunk (or stoned) tourists often leaving themselves open to theft and robbery by petty criminals.
2. Why is Laos more expensive than Thailand?
There's a reason Laos is slightly more expensive when compared to the rest of Southeast Asia.
Few things here are locally produced and, because the country is landlocked, it has to import almost everything.
That raises prices for goods, services, and transportation.
3. Is Lao a good country to visit?

I came here in search of the most remote tribe in the country (which I discovered on the border of Myanmar), but along the way, I filmed this $10 video in some of the remote towns and villages.
