Vancouver International Airport (IATA: YVR, ICAO: CYVR) is located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, about 12 km (7.5 mi) from Downtown Vancouver. In 2012 it was the second busiest airport in Canada by aircraft movements (296,394[3]) and passengers (17.6 million[4]), behind Toronto Pearson International Airport, with non-stop flights daily to Asia, Europe, Oceania, the United States, and Mexico, and other airports within Canada. The airport has won several notable international best airport awards; it won the Skytrax Best North American Airport award in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 the second, third, fourth and fifth time respectively it has received the honour (the first was in 2007). It is the only North American Airport included in the top 10 for 2013.[5][6][7][8] YVR also retains the distinction of Best Canadian Airport in the regional results.[9] It is a hub for Air Canada as well as a focus city for WestJet. It is also an operating base for Air Transat. Vancouver International Airport is one of eight Canadian airports that have US Border Preclearance facilities. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has been named, The Best Airport in North America.[10] The airport also made the list of top 10 airports in the world, rated at 9th overall, for the first time in 2012. In 2013 it is rated 8th overall worldwide.[5] It is also one of the few big international airports to have a terminal for scheduled floatplanes.

Full Flight: WestJet B737-700 Vancouver to Calgary (YVR-YYC)
Hey guys! Welcome to another WestJet full flight video! After a pretty disastrous ending to my last few flights onboard WS, I decided to give them another try and I was very pleased with this experience. This was my first time onboard their B737-700s and it wasn't much different from their B737-800 product. The service was great as usual, but on top of that, the plane had excellent legroom, free snacks/drinks, WiFi, free entertainment, universal power outlets & USB ports, an early departure/arrival, and excellent scenery outside. I can never get enough of flying over North America's western mountain range from Canada down to Mexico. Was a very enjoyable quick flight and I'd definitely like to fly WestJet (hopefully their 787) again! Hope you guys enjoy!

WestJet 737-700 Takeoff from Calgary (YYC), Landing and Taxi at Vancouver (YVR)
The ending of the family trip to Alberta in 2013 consisted of two WestJet flights from Calgary to San Francisco via Vancouver. Despite WestJet seasonally operating Calgary to San Francisco nonstop.
Originally we were booked on flight 551 which would have departed Calgary for Vancouver two hours after this one, but the check-in agent informed us that it was delayed to the point that we'd miss the Vancouver connection, and added us to this flight instead.

Last flight of the family's trip to Alberta in summer 2013. By this time, the wreckage of the Asiana flight two weeks prior at SFO had been cleared, but landings were still limited to 28R. Despite that, it was too dark to see anything anyway.
