LEOPARD 46 PC Catamaran - Boat Review Teaser - Multihulls World

Full test in Multihulls World #183:

Robertson & Caine, with 30 years of experience in the powercat business, are launching a catamaran that’s larger and more comfortable than the 43PC – which is being dropped from the catalog. The new 46 borrows the design of her bigger sistership, the 53 PC. The hulls have been designed from the outset start as motorboat hulls. These feature very large lateral windows, while the forward windows of the coachroof are vertical in order to integrate the forward door more easily - all these windows are made in tempered glass for maximum clarity and to give good longevity. Inside, the new matt beige finish replaces the former gloss white. The 46 will be available in a 3 or 4-cabin version with special attention having been paid to comfort: wide, comfortable berths accessible from the side, increased floor space and improved interior lighting. The two engines – either 250, 320 or 370 HP - are completely isolated from the living area. With the boat in lightship condition, with the most powerful engine configuration, the maximum speed is 25 knots - 20 knots when fully loaded. The range varies from 250 miles to 1,500 miles depending on the speed.

► Full test in Multihulls World 189:

► A third powercat in the Leopard range.
► Following the launch of two large models - the 53 and 46PC - and the retirement of the very successful 43PC, it came as no surprise to discover a new compact model from Robertson & Caine, the 40PC. It features an imposing panoramic coachroof with a beautiful L-shaped galley and, despite being shorter in length, manages to house great cabins all equipped with island beds and bathrooms. But the real plus compared to the 43PC? Aboard this model, there’s a proper interior helm station.

Leopard 51 PowerCat Catamaran - Boat Review teaser - Multihulls World - Multihulls World

Full test in Multiworlds World #140:

Their own qualities notwithstanding, power multihulls represent an opportune niche in a market which is yet to be fully explored. This potential market is generating specific interest in the way it is evolving (albeit slowly) within the sector. The Power Cat is offering a pertinent response to several types of potential buyers: ageing yachtsmen, newcomers or defectors from monohull powerboats and enthusiasts from countries which might not have a strong yachting tradition such as parts of Asia or South America. The downside of this is that these countries are often out of the running when the demand from the wealthy (sure, a small minority) keeps on growing, and the price of oil is attractive.

LEOPARD 53 PC Power Catamaran - Boat Review Teaser - Multihull Of The Year 2020

Leopard 53 PC Catamaran video. Discover this powercat full test in Multihulls World #172

This boat features real motoryacht lines, with a solid foredeck, pronounced topsides and an impressively sized flybridge. A very clear effort has been made in terms of design: the coachroof is visually lighter than on previous models. Inside, moving around is easy: a wide central passage connects the aft cockpit to the foredeck saloon - accessible thanks to the famous front door, dear to Leopard. Outside, there’s no shortage of space for relaxation, and access to the sea and the dinghy has been given priority. Our test demonstrated the good handling of the 53 PC and her speed possibilities – up to 22 knots.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Builder: Robertson & Caine
Overall length: 53’1” (16.19 m)

AVENTURA 50 MY Powercat Catamaran - Boat Review Teaser - Multihulls World

► Full test in Mutihulls World #184:
► Here is a 14 (meter) that really deserves to be a 15, not least because the length of the hulls is in fact very close to 50 feet, but also for the volume offered - it is impressive. For the shipyard launched by Eric Roger over 20 years ago with pocket catamarans such as the Aventura 23 and the 28 (whose molds were already those of other previous models) presenting a multihull as ambitious as this A14 (from now on A520 MY) is quite a challenge… On our first visit aboard, at the Cannes boat show, we were struck by the large foredeck and the cleverly designed flybridge with sunroof, the large fitted-kitchen style galley on the port side, the interior helm station and the forward door.
Six months later, the Aventura 14 was declared Winner of the Multihulls Of The Year in its category.

► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Builder: Aventura Catamarans
Overall length: 48’11” (14.90 m)
Beam: 24’7” (7.50 m)
Draft: 3’3” (1.00 m)

ILLIAD 53SPORT Powercat - Boat Review Teaser - Multihulls World

► Full test in Multihulls World N°191:

► Even though Iliad Catamarans was only founded in 2019, the new brand has already launched three powercat models from 50 to 74 feet. The Iliad 50 that we tested in MW169 has already seen 7 examples sold in Australia... Building on its success, the yard is announcing the Iliad 53S: this new model is innovative in terms of design, as it does not have a flybridge, thus presents a sporty silhouette, or sedan appearance - hence the “S”. With its significantly lowered superstructure, the 53S can venture onto inland waterways, opening up new cruising possibilities. Like her predecessors, this powercat is a beachable cruising boat, solidly built in a foam/vinylester sandwich. This catamaran is also very comfortable and particularly well equipped as standard - air conditioning, generator, complete electronics, bow thruster, electrical appliances, lithium batteries, a 5,000-W inverter, solar panels, video/sound system etc. Powered by two 440 HP engines, the Iliad 53S is expected to reach 24 knots and be capable of covering more than 3,000 miles in long-distance cruising mode.

► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Builder: Iliad Catamarans
Length: 53’8” (16.35 m)
Beam: 25’ (7.6 m)
Draft: 3’11” (1.2 m)
Displacement: 52,900 lbs (24 t)
Recommended drivetrain: 2 x 440 HP Volvo or Yanmar
Maximum speed: 24 knots
Maximum range: 3,000 miles
Fuel: 925 US gal (3,500 l)
Water: 210 US gal (800 l)
Certification: CE A-12. B-12. C-20. D-30
