I got to try out the LAX Private Suite (PS) which includes a BMW Limo pick up directly from the plane to take me to the Private Suite. The PS is for total privacy as you do not share the suite with anyone else. I enjoyed a massage, some food and beverage in privacy before my next flight on British Airways B747-400 to London. I was picked up by Limo which dropped me off directly at the plane.

I chose seat 14K on the lower deck of BA B747-400. It is a reverse facing Club World Business Class seat, looking straight into the Rolls Royce RB211 engines and the B747 wing. During the flight, the best entertainment was looking out the window. I had a tour of the entire BA B747-400 looking in on every seating class. I also review the seat and food served on BA B747. This BA 747 has 86 Club World seats and was given the name “Super 747” within BA.

After landing at Heathrow T5, I visited the British Airways Arrival Galleries Lounge. This arrival lounge provides shower rooms, breakfast and the Elemis Spa.

Finally check out the BA B747 painted in retro BOAC, Negus and Landor livery. Although my flight was not operated by one of these BA retro 747s, I was lucky enough to film them during my stay in Heathrow.

British Airways Club Suite Business Class Boeing 777-300ER | Los Angeles to London

Airline: British Airways
Flight Number: BA268
Route: LAX-LHR
Class: Club Suite (Business Class)
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER
Registration: G-STBH
Delivered: OCTOBER 2013
Flight Duration: 9 Hours 50 Minutes
Distance: 5,456 Miles

Blogpost:

I usually don't look forward to flying British Airways (BA)' Club World Business Class, as I find the Club World seats very uncomfortable and tight, so it was a nice treat when I found out that this flight was being operated with the new Club Suite reverse herringbone configuration, which I find much more bearable for the almost 10 hour flight across the pond. I find the service and catering in business class usually pretty good on British Airways, however it appears BA is still on COVID service mode. The entire meal is served on on tray instead of in courses. As a consolation, the DO&CO catered meal was very tasty and fresh. Other than that, the typical business class amenities were offered, which made the flight rather comfortable.

What I liked:

The seats – British Airways' new Club Suite Product is lightyears better than the existing Club World Product. The seat is very comfortable and turn into a full flat bed. All seats also feature direct aisle access with plenty of personal and storage space to keep you comfortable for the long haul flight. Each seat also features a sliding door for additional privacy.

The Friendly Crew– The in-flight service from this mixed fleet crew was warm and the flight attendants were eager to please. The crew were also polished and delivered professional service during the flight. We were offered a pre-departure beverage service, which was great.

The Catering – The catering by Do&Co was actually very good on this flight. The food tasted fresh and delicious. The chicken Supreme dish that I ordered during dinner service was delicious, and tasted fresh. The pre-arrival traditional British Breakfast dish that I had was generously portioned and equally very good.

What I didn’t like:

Abbreviated Meal Service - How I wish BA brings back its pre-pandemic meal service in courses. The entire meal on this flight was plopped on a single tray (just like in economy), unlike other carriers where they typically do their meal service in courses.

No personal air nozzles - Sadly BA did not fit their 777s with personal air nozzles, which is very unfortunate. It was hard to keep cool during the flight, as BA usually keeps their cabins rather warm in-flight.

It’s OK, I guess…

The Amenities – BA does not offer business class passengers pajamas or slippers in business class, but I liked the black mini leather pouch by The White Company London. The bedding was also very good and included a mattress pad for when you make your bed. The lavatories were also clean and nicely stocked with toiletries.

Bottom Line:

The new BA Club Suite seats are great are on par, if not slightly better than American's reverse herringbone seats on their widebody fleet due the sliding door. The DO&CO catering from LAX was surprisingly very good and the food tasted fresh. The mixed fleet crew working this flight were friendly, charming, and efficient in delivering service throughout the flight, though I wish the meal service would be in courses. The in-flight amenities were also adequate. Now only if they had those air nozzles... :/

British Airways Club Suite Business Class Boeing 777-300ER | London to Los Angeles

Blogpost:

British Airways (BA) changed business class travel back in 2006 when it introduced the Club World seats that turn into fully flat beds. Nowadays business class products have become more competitive and airlines have been coming up with more ways to make business class travel more comfortable for passengers, and British Airways was in need to update their tired Club World Seats. In 2019 BA introduced the Club Suite Business Class product. The seats are make by Collins Aerospace and they are basically an updated version of the Super Diamond Reverse Herringbone seats, which operators like Qatar Airways and American use on some of their planes, but now with sliding doors. For those who know me, you'll know that I am a big fan of the reverse herringbone configuration. They are among the most private and comfortable business class seats in the sky, and BA's new club suite product really delivers. Pair that with a decent food, and good service and you have a winning combination. So how does this new product compare?

What I liked:

The plane - This flight was operated by one of BA's newest Boeing 777-300ERs. All the fixtures were basically brand new and the plane was very clean. It still had the new plane smell too...

The Catering – The catering by Do&Co was actually very good on this flight. The food tasted fresh and delicious. The chicken pot pie that I ordered during dinner service was delicious, while the beef short ribs dish that my companion ordered was was also delectable. The pre-arrival chicken and pasta dish was generously portioned and equally very good.

The BA Galleries First Lounge at LHR – Since the pandemic, BA has eliminated the self-serve buffets at the lounges, and opted for a la carte table service. This is way better in my opinion. You just scan the QR Code with your phone to order from the menu, and a server will bring your order to your table. There were also plenty of seating through out the lounge.

Lufthansa's €2 Billion New Cabin - First Class Double Suite

I flew on Lufthansa B747-8 from Los Angeles to Germany to see their new Allegris cabin product launch. The current Lufthansa Business Class seats have some shortcomings and lack privacy. I flew on the upper deck of the legendary B747.

Lufthansa unveiled its €2.5 Billion cabin upgrade program Allegris. The most impressive product is on Lufthansa First Class which features a floor-to-ceiling double suite in the middle. The suite can convert into a double bed with a 43 TV screen.

Lufthansa's new Business Class also features a 2m long bed and suite. There are up to 7 different seat configurations in Business Class. Watch the video for the details.

Less impressive are the Premium Economy and Economy, those are fairly standard and without much improvement in my opinion. In the video, I gave my impression, pros and cons after trying out these seats.

British Airways All Business Class Jet to New York

British Airways operate an all Club World Business Class service on their sole A318 between London City and New York JFK. This is possibly the World's Smallest Commercial plane flying Trans-Atlantic. BA1 flight has the BEST service on any British Airways flight, most passengers are high net worth individual and treated like flying private jet.

The outbound route from London City requires a tech stop at Shannon, where passengers are pre-cleared for US immigration and customs, before arriving at New York JFK. Perhaps saving the best till last, it took me just 5 minutes from walking outside the plane to the street at New York JFK!

Flying Business Class on British Airways Boeing 777

This is what it is like flying Business class on a British Airways Boeing 777 from London Heathrow Airport to Boston, Massachusetts in the United States.

#BritishAirways #BusinessClass #London

INSIDE Lufthansa First Class on the Boeing 747

Join me inside Lufthansa's First Class onboard their Boeing 747. Starting at the airport, in a private luxury terminal. Next i'm driven over to the Queen of the Skies in a high performance Porsche. Whilst onboard I'll enjoy caviar, a medium rare steak and a special German desert of Gingerbread. After putting my PJs on (complete with a scarf!) i'll settle into the 5* bed arriving refreshed into the United States.

As with all my trip reports, you can expect a fully comprehensive review of all elements of the First Class experience. I'll showcase what it's really like to fly this exclusive product from Frankfurt, Germany over to Chicago in the USA.

The $20,000 Residence on Etihad A380

There's nothing like The Residence in commercial air travel.

The Residence is above First Class; with a living room, separate bedroom and en-suite shower room, it is the only three-room suite on a commercial airline in the world. It is indeed the World's Premiere Flying Experience.

I hadn't flown The Residence in 2 years and I was very keen to re-live this fantastic experience, so I decided to dress up for the occasion. This flight was Etihad's inaugural A380 service from Abu Dhabi to Seoul Incheon.

On the return flight from Incheon to Abu Dhabi (next episode), I will be back in Economy to see the differences in travel experience on the same plane.

-------

Join me for my third, spectacular experience in Etihad Airway’s The Residence! The Residence is completely out of this world within the field of luxury, commercial passenger aviation, far surpassing any first class service that you might care to mention. It is unique in so many ways from providing the only, true double bed in a public, commercial aviation setting within your cabin to the provision of your own personal butler whilst in The Residence lounge and also whilst up in the air, trained in the prestigious Savoy Hotel in London.

I take the inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi international airport to Incheon Airport in Seoul, South Korea at the invitation of Etihad Airways, celebrating the launch of this new route in The Residence. I will be making the return journey in economy class in my next video guys, so watch out for that one!

If you’d like to see my first and second Residence experiences, you can see these in my videos here:

The Residence flying experience provides a home from home on the ground and then in the sky where any need or desire you could think of is expertly and carefully taken of. The Residence experience starts with being chauffeur driven in a luxury car (typically Audi, BMW or Mercedes) to the first class, VIP terminal of the airport where you are met by your personal luggage carrier, butler and chef.

Whilst waiting for your flight, you are housed in your own little palace with access to a spa (I opt to have an extremely relaxing and very nice and pleasant foot massage) and even a smoking room, lavishly decorated and stocked with the finest cigars, including Cuban, from around the world. Your own personal chef is on hand to deliver a Michelin Star level of dining experience, with each dish being hand crafted to your requirements and set in front of you with an explanation of each of the components of the dish before you begin eating. There are a wide variety of premium wines, spirits, beers and champagne to choose from.

Within your Residence lounge, there is a large, wall-mounted television and library. The Residence on the ground experience is absolutely sublime and a true masterpiece of comfort and service for the passenger.

At the gate to the aeroplane, I am met by the person who is to be my butler in the air. He introduces himself and up in the air, it’s clear that he cares – that’s what’s so great about Etihad Airway’s The Residence – the personal touch. They have researched my background before the day and present me with a number of aviation magazines to read and enjoy on the flight, as well as a framed photo of myself and a certificate to commemorate my travelling on this inaugural flight with Etihad in The Residence.

I am extremely impressed with the food I receive on the flight, with a delicious steak and chips being put before me as the main course and delicious little Asian sandwiches with succulent meat as a starter. I am also treated to Bellini Cipriani wine and a wonderful post-dinner digestif of Cellar 28 Remy Martin – greater opulence you couldn’t imagine, honestly!

After dinner, I can sprawl out on my double bed and watch TV in private, after taking a very relaxing and refreshing shower in my private bathroom on board. After sleeping, I rub my eyes to see my personal butler bringing a luxurious and mouth-watering breakfast of waffles and raspberries, served with champagne to get me in the mood to face a new day before we land.

Overall, I am once again bowled over by Etihad’s provision for me within The Residence class on board and I hold Etihad Airway’s The Residence in the highest regard. Would did you think of the whole fantastic experience? Let me know in the comments – as always, I am very pleased to share these gems of an aviation experience with you, my audience, and I thank you for watching.

Flying $200 Million Boeing 747-SP Private Jet ALONE

I flew on a private Boeing 747-SP VIP Jet from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Marana, AZ, USA. I was the only passenger traveling inside this $200 million flying palace private 747 jet.

Check out the luxurious interior of this ex head of state airplane in the video. Sit inside the cockpit and watch how the pilots fly the B747 classic. It was just an exhilarating and unbelievable experience flying on a B747-SP VIP plane in 2019.

My FIRST, FIRST CLASS! British Airways to Silicon Valley: 787-9

Welcome to a VERY special flight for me as today I will be flying in my very first FIRST CLASS experience! The British Airways 787-9 has 8 TRUE FIRST CLASS seats. The experience is night and day from even the Business Class cabin/experience! I was especially excited because of the service to San Jose, CA considering it's a local airport of mine as an alternative to San Francisco, and I always enjoy long haul flights to small airports.

San Jose has had plenty of International traffic. Prior to the pandemic, having ANA to Tokyo, Hainan to Beijing, British to Heathrow, Lufthansa to Frankfurt, Air China to Shanghai, and a number of flights to Canada and Mexico. Now, in the post-pandemic age, we are seeing British Airways back, as well as Zipair starting up service as well to Tokyo. Silicon Valley is intriguing to airlines to hoping to reduce fees and pulling out of SFO for cheaper alternatives.

I booked this flight with 85,000 American Airlines AAdvantage Miles plus about $600 in taxes and fees which is normal for flights in and out of London. Ugh!

After 5 months in the US I was finally able to fly home, with Lufthansa B747-8 in First Class! This is the first of A 2 part episode that focuses on my Lufthansa First Class flight from LA to Frankfurt. Lufthansa fortunately retained most of their service standards and are still operating the Boeing 747.

Check out what's changed in the current situation with international long-haul travel. I discuss whether current air travel is safe inside the video. Is First Class still the same and the best way to travel?

You have to wear a mask at all times during the flight, with the exception of when you are eating and drinking.
