The town is built into a hilltop and is a compact, colorful, delight to stroll through, with narrow alleys, excellent shopping, cafes and restaurants.
Malcesine is most famous for its medieval castle and fortified walls, as well as its cable car to the top of Monte Baldo - which sits high above Malcesine. It's also known for its many water sports and hiking opportunities.

Malcesine, Lake Garda, Italy - 4K Walking Tour 2022 (Ultra HD, 60fps)
Welcome to Malcesine, Lake Garda, Italy. A beautiful little village on the shore of Garda lake, in the province of Verona, Veneto region, Italy.
It's a very popular and picturesque tourist resort with narrow cobbled streets and a beautiful castle, crammed between the blue, crustal clear lake waters and the imposing mountain ridge behind called Monte Baldo, that watches over the town.
Also called the olive grove shore” thanks to the myriad of olives that can be seen everywhere in that region, Malcesine is a true gem of Lago di Garda. A must-visit when you travel to Italy since it's the perfect location for a good Italy road trip and for those seeking a more local experience on Lake Garda.
In our walking tour of Malcesine we visit the old town and walk through the cobbled lanes, full of shops and restaurants, and just take in and enjoy the ambiance and the peaceful vibes of this Italian town. We visit the new port as well as the old port. We check out the most beautiful squares where you can have a nice lunch or dinner. We can't miss paying a visit to the historic castle, called Castello Scaligero, where we can see some amazing views of the lake Garda and the whole town of Malcesine, and its surroundings. This is also where we end our city tour.

Limone sul Garda is charming and if you are spending a few days at Lake Garda a visit here should be among your priorities.
The historic centre is a labyrinth of narrow paths and stairs.
From the center of Limone you can ride a few kilometers of the scenic Garda cycle path, a path suspended over the lake, that will become the longest cycle path in Europe in 2026!
Valle di Ledro path runs through the entire Ledro valley to Lake Ampola.
It is recommended this path for those who want to discover the beauties of the higher altitude area around the lake.
You can have a nice breakfast in Rifugio al Faggio, at the end of Val Concei.
From Torbole you can reach Toblino lake!
The path Valle dei Laghi allows you to start from Riva del Garda area – down there you can see Garda lake, to reach the splendid lake of Toblino, along the Sarca river.
With a small deviation you can reach the center of Arco, where on Wednesday the is the local market, and also the castle of Arco.

This is the first in a series of videos from our holiday to Lake Garda in Italy from 14th-28th June 2023.

In this video we explore the town of Malcesine, which was our base for the two weeks.
Malcesine is located on the North East shore of Lake Garda.
We take a short walk beside Lake Garda before exploring the castle in Malcesine. The castle sits on the shore of the Lake and offers superb views in all directions. We climb to the top of the tower of the castle at 70m above the lake giving stunning views.
We then explore the streets of Malcesine which are lined with shops, restaurants, cafes & bars before heading to the picturesque harbour of Malcesine. A town with a lot of character and a stunning backdrop of the Monte Baldo Moutain range.

Welcome to ????????????????????????????????????, a historic destination bordering Lake Garda, considered among the most beautiful villages in Italy. On this walking tour, we traverse around the city’s charming neighborhoods, its ancient castle, and witness breathtaking views of the surroundings.
Once a fishing village, Malcesine (or Malsésen in Garda dialect) is a lively destination, backed by the imposing Monte Baldo and facing the blue waters of Lake Garda. Thousands of tourists come here daily during the summers to soak in the city’s vintage charm while discovering Malcesine’s many attractions like the 800-year-old Scaliger Castle, the old harbor, pretty cafe and its narrow medieval streets, which we’ll visit during our walk.
