Amanohashidate sandbar is an off the beaten path place you can visit when travelling to Kyoto.
Kyoto is one of the top destinations people travel to when coming to Japan, however with more and more tourists coming in each year and going to the same tourist spots, it's hard to enjoy Kyoto without having to be surrounded by crowds.
So, if you are like me and you want to enjoy travelling away from the big crowds then try going to Amanohashidate in the northern part of Kyoto.
There are trains and direct buses departing from Kyoto and Osaka and the best part is you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Japanese countryside.

I really love this town and think it is just absolutely beautiful! If you are a tea lover(especially macha) and love nature then this is the perfect place for you to travel to in Kyoto :)

Hidden Kyoto Tea Farms - This is why you need to look past the guide books and explore Wazuka, Kyoto
Exploring Hidden Tea Farms in the mountains of Kyoto and taking the perfect pics for Instagram - it's one of the best way to spend a day outside the bustling cities of Kyoto or Osaka!
My biggest piece of advice for travellers to Japan is to skip what the guidebooks say and go off the grid! Visiting Team Farms in Kyoto or Japan can set you back about $100, and although there are popular Team Farms in Uji Kyoto and others across Japan, you can save yourself the money and have the time of your life! If you're heading to Kyoto make sure you check out Wazuka!
Only an hour from Osaka, Wazuka is off the beaten path, and a quiet peaceful town in the mountains where you're unlikely to see any other tourists, or local people for that matter!
Without planning I jumped on a train and bus with my pal Kristina to explore this hidden tea region!

Wazuka Town tea plantation in Kyoto ???? | 和束町の茶畑 | 石寺の茶畑
An in-vehicle camera was used to capture the scenery of Wazuka Town, Kyoto's tea-growing region, which produces 40% of Uji tea. Please also enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Ishidera tea fields.
At dan-dan cafe adjacent to the Ishidera tea plantation, you can enjoy tea produced, tea sweets, and lunch. A rest with a spectacular view is very refreshing!

Kyoto, one of Japan's largest and most visited cities, is perfectly located in the middle of the island of Honshu and is a wonderful base from which to embark on fun day trips. From here, the country's excellent high-speed trains can whisk you pretty much anywhere you care to visit, relatively quickly and in comfort (Japan's highway network is excellent, too). Interesting places such as Nagoya, a little more than a two-hour drive east, can be reached by rail in 1.5 hours, dropping you off in the center of the city, where the majority of attractions can be easily accessed on foot. Another easy day trip includes the slightly longer trek to Hiroshima to visit the sobering museums and monuments marking the city's devastation when the first atom bomb was dropped in 1945.
