Ksamil is a village and a former municipality in the riviera of Southern Albania, and part of Butrint National Park. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Sarandë. The population at the 2011 census was 2,994. The municipal unit consists of the villages Ksamil and Manastir. During the communist era the proper coastal village was built in 1966 and is located south of the city of Sarandë off the road to Butrint.
Ksamil is one of the most frequented coastal resorts by both domestic and foreign tourists. Ksamil Beach and Albania's Ionian Coast further north was included in the Guardian's 20 of the best bargain beach holidays for 2013.

Sarandë (2024) is a coastal town in the south of Albania (Shqipëria). The city is very close to the Greek border and even closer to the island of Corfu. Sarandë is also known as Άγιοι Σαράντα (=the holy 40) and has a significant Greek population. Sarandë is one of the smaller harbors of Albania and the population is around 20,000. The city is close to the ancient city of Butrint and Ksamil (Εξαμίλι).

Saranda, is a coastal town in Albania. Geographically, it is situated on an open sea gulf of the Ionian Sea in the central Mediterranean, about 14 km (8.7 mi) east of the northern end of the island of Corfu. Stretching along the Albanian Ionian Sea Coast, Saranda typically has over 300 sunny days a year.
The city is known for its blue deep waters of the Mediterranean. Near Sarandë are the remains of the ancient city of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In recent years, Saranda has seen a steady increase in tourists, many of them coming by cruise ship. Visitors are attracted by the natural environment of Saranda and its archaeological sites. Sarandë has a large Greek population and is considered one of the two centers of the Greek minority in Albania.

KSAMIL, SARANDA ALBANIA NEW DRONE FOOTAGE 2021 With Walk About
Take a drone voyage to the lovely and quaint village of Ksamil. A suburb of nearby Saranda (Sarande) Albania ,about 25-30 min drive away down the coast to the south. There are some fascinating Islands, the Ksamil Islands that were contested between Greece and Albania and at one time, nobody could visit them, except for government employees of the state. Now the times are relaxed and anybody can enjoy the beautiful serene beauty covered in white sand and teal waters off the Mediterranean, Ionian and Adriatic seas.
This area is coveted as being the playground for the entire Balkans and a must visit area. Now the area is under a construction boom with building and shops being erected daily. It really is a beautiful place. Check it out!

The Albanian Riviera is a coastline along the Northeastern Ionian Sea in the Mediterranean Sea encompassing the districts of Sarandë and Vlorë in Southwestern Albania. It forms an important section of the Albanian Ionian Sea Coast dotted with the villages of Palasë, Dhërmi, Vuno, Himara, Qeparo, Borsh, Piqeras, Lukovë and Sarandë.
The riviera should not be confused with the entire coastline of the country, which includes the Ionian Sea Coast, and the mostly flat Adriatic Sea Coast in the north. The Ceraunian Mountains separates the coast from the hinterland. The area is a major nightlife, ecotourist, and elite retreat destination in Albania. It features traditional Mediterranean villages, ancient castles, churches, monasteries, secluded turquoise beaches, bays, mountain passes, seaside canyons, coves, rivers, underwater fauna, caves, and orange, lemon, and olive groves. During the classical times, 48 BC during his pursuit of Pompey, Julius Caesar set foot and rested his legion at Palasë. He continued onto Llogara Pass in a place later named Caesar's Pass.

The main attractions are the nearby Ksamil Islands. The mainland beach is small but clean.
During communism, the area became well known for the production of olive oil, lemons, and tangerines. In 2010, national authorities demolished over 200 illegal structures that violated the town's master plan and the integrity of Butrint National Park. Some remains from the demolished buildings have yet to be removed by authorities
