Korean Seafood Breakfast - BIG OCTOPUS + Extreme SQUIRTING Seafood in Seoul, South Korea!

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA - One of the best Korean food experiences in Seoul is to go to the fish market, buy a bunch of fresh live seafood, and have them cook it all up immediately at one of the restaurants upstairs. It doesn’t get more fresh and fun for eating Korean seafood in Seoul. We were a bit short on time, so we decided to do it for breakfast, and one of the best things is, the seafood market is open 24 hours a day! #KoreanFood #Seafood #Seoul

Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market - If you love seafood, this is the place you have to come when you’re in Seoul. Much of the seafood is even kept live and in tanks for water before it’s sold. The hardest part is knowing which stall at the market to buy your seafood from as there’s such a diversity and so many stalls.

Stall #17 - We walked around for a while until finding a very friendly lady who was at Stall #17 - I would highly recommend her, she’s fair and she’s really nice, and has great seafood. We shopped for a while, choosing a mix of seafood, and squirting sea squirts. All seafood - 113,000 KRW ($95.19)

Sashimi plate - 70,000 KRW ($58.97) - Just across from Stall #17 we also bought an impulse plate of sashimi.

Next, someone appeared and carried our seafood upstairs for us. After making a round, we chose a restaurant upstairs with traditional Korean food low tables and the ladies running the restaurant were very friendly. They made a variety of different dishes, cooked a few, and sliced and diced most raw onto plates. The benefit of sitting at a restaurant is that you get all the Korean food side dishes. The seafood was unbelievably fresh, from the live octopus (one of the delicacies of Korean food) to the multiple variations of sea squirts, spoon worms, and sea cucumbers. It was a meal of unique flavors and textures, and some seriously exotic seafood. Cooking and side dishes at restaurant for 6 people - 99,000 KRW ($83.40)

Trying EXOTIC KOREAN SEAFOOD in Busan | Eating Squirming RAW OCTOPUS in Korea

Come join us in Busan, South Korea for the first time trying exotic Korean seafood (hoe - 회 - 膾/鱠) including eating squirming raw octopus in Taejongdae (태종대). Nearby the beach you can find many tented restaurants selling all kinds of Korean seafood where you have the option of having both raw and cooked meals. We found a place that lured us into the restaurant with friendly service and complimentary Korean fried rice.

David's channel:

In terms of the Korean seafood we sampled the following Hoe (회 - 膾/鱠) items:

1) Mussels
2) Urechis unicinctus (Gaebul - 개불)
3) Sea urchin
4) Sea cucumber (Haesam-hoe - 해삼회)
5) Korean octopus Nakji-hoe - 낙지회)

Other Korean food items included:

1) Cass Korean beer
2) Soju Korean drink
3) Korean fried rice with seaweed
4) Raw vegetables and Korean dipping sauces

Aside from eating Korean seafood we also explored Taejongdae (태종대) visiting temples, lighthouses, observatory, park and lookout points by following the walking path.

Have you tried strange or weird Korean seafood before or other types of exotic Korean food? Let us know in the comments below.

Trying EXOTIC KOREAN SEAFOOD in Busan | Eating squirming RAW OCTOPUS in Korea:

Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a vlogging travel couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.

Our most recent trip was to South Korea where I embarked upon a two-week adventure without Audrey. Invited as part of a YouTube vlogging trip, organized by KTO, I spent the first week traveling with other YouTubers in Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju. My second week included independent exploration of Korea with my good friend and fellow YouTuber David of DavidsBeenHere.

Having lived and traveled in South Korea, the chance to return to one of my favorite countries was one of the biggest surprises of 2019. On this particular trip, I had an opportunity to do many things I had not previously covered including a visit to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone between South Korea and North Korea), a Buddhist Temple Stay and a Korean cooking class. It was almost as if the program designed by KTO knew exactly what I had missed out on before.

Obviously, a huge highlight from the two weeks I spent revisiting Korea was the food. I feasted on all of my favorite Korean dishes including Korean barbecue, dolsot bibimbap, haemul pajeon, tteokbokki, bulgogi, kimbap and many others. I can honestly say that Korean food is world-class and is one of my top 5 favorite cuisines in the world. Aside from trying familiar dishes, I had the opportunity to sample raw Korean seafood for the first time.

While visiting Seoul, highlights included going to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan Seoul Tower, Jogyesa Temple and Hongdae. As one of the biggest cities in the world, I barely scratched the surface of things to do in Seoul.

Spending extended time in Busan was my favorite part about the trip with top highlights including a Korean temple stay, fresh fish markets and a Korean baseball game. It was from Busan that we ended up taking a day-trip to Daegu where we enjoyed a traditional Korean market and tried Galbi-Jjim for the first time.

Korean Street Food - NETFLIX SEOUL - I Ate Everything From the Episode! | Gwangjang Market!

Special thank you to Dan Gray, who took us on this Korean street food tour. You can follow him at and #KoreanFood #KoreanStreetFood #Netflix

STREET FOOD NETFLIX - Seoul, South Korea

I did enjoy watching the Street Food Netflix show, especially the amazing cinematography and the amazing stories of the people behind the food. However, there wasn’t much emphasis, if any, on the eating part of the street food. So I happen to be in Seoul for a few days, and I happen to know Dan Gray ( who helped arrange the Seoul Street Food Netflix episode, and so he took us on the same tour, except this time, focused on eating everything.

Here are the places covered in the Street Food Netflix, Korean street food in Seoul episode:

Gwangjang Market - Most of the entire episode was filmed at the famous Gwangjang Market, a market I’ve been to many times, and is a must visit for Korean food lovers in Seoul.

Yoonsun Cho - Gohyang Kalguksu Stall - Most of the Netflix Seoul episode was based around Yoonsun Cho and her incredible kalguksu, hand made knife cut noodles. They were very home-style tasting, very comforting and delicious. She also serves a number of other dishes including nangmyeon, and seaweed noodles, all of which were very good. Her sauce is also amazing, and her kimchi. Price - 5,000 KRW ($4.21) per bowl

Honglim Banchan Stall - Probably the most delicious food on this entire Korean street food tour Netflix episode was the soy marinated crab from Honglim Banchan Stall. The crab was melt in your mouth and the marinade was perfect. Even better is when she scooped out some roe and mixed it with rice in the shell.

Bindae-tteok stall - There’s an entire section of Korean street food dedicated to bindae-tteok at Gwangjang Market. Along with these crispy mung bean pancakes, we also ordered Yukhoe, Korean raw beef with egg and pear. Price - 30,000 KRW ($25.27) total

Dongdaemun Food Street - Finally, the last thing in the Street Food Netflix episode of Seoul was the Baffle, a unique creation of rice made into a waffle, filled and topped with all sorts of interesting things. Price - 4,000 KRW ($3.37)

It was a fun Korean street food tour, and we all had a great time eating and meeting the friendly vendors from the show.

Japanese Street Food - DANCING SQUID SASHIMI Hakodate Japan Seafood

Seoul Street Food, Korea. Noryangjin Fish Market. Sashimi, Tuna, Seafood, Giant Crabs and Live Fish

instragram: settime2588

The Noryangjin Market opened for business in 1927, making it Seoul’s oldest fish market. Located in Seoul’s Dongjak District, the market sits slightly south of the Han River. It is the largest fish market in the country and is open 24 hours a day. If you are looking for an especially exciting experience, head to the market early in the morning to watch the bustling fish auctions. You can see everything here: shrimp, crab, squid, stingray, octopus, mackerel, tuna, lobster, clams, mussels, scollops, etc. Not only you can buy fish and crustaceans, you can also eat it on the spot ; various vendors prepare a fresh meal for you right there at the market. Visitors can also have their fresh purchases prepared at one of the restaurants located on the second floor.
Getting to Noryangjin Fish Market: Subway Line 1 exit 1 or Line 9 exit 2 to Noryangjin Station.

Korean Breakfast in Seoul, Korea + Visiting Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁)

Come join us for our final Korean breakfast in Seoul, Korea as we devour delicious Korean porridge, known locally as Juk, along with kimchi fried rice before heading over to visit Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁). For our final Korean meal together in Seoul, David and I wanted to grab something delicious and hearty.

David's channel:

This particular Korean restaurant in Seoul specialized in Korean porridge and Korean fried rice. WIth this, in mind, we ordered both Juk and Bokkeumbap. The meal was both tasty and inexpensive.

For our last activity together in Seoul we headed over to Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁) - one of the many former royal palaces in the city. What made this palace so impressive was just its sheer size and lack of crowds early in the morning. As time went by more people arrived but for a brief period of time we felt like we had it to ourselves.

Anyhow, aside from one more travel blog back to Canada that is the end of our Korea series! Thanks to David for all of his help with this and be sure to check out his channel for all the Korea videos he made as well.

KOREA'S LARGEST SEAFOOD MARKET!!!

What an experience. Crazily big seafood market in Korea!!!

Spent RM1600++ Dinner | Noryangjin Fish Market

Went to Noryangjin Fish Market in Seoul South Korea.
It was an interesting experience, visiting other country fish market.

We ate the RM1200 deep sea crab tht tasted amazing and other tasty seafood.
However,we were dissapointed with the lobster coz it was not fresh.
So, lesson learnt. DONT buy any dead animal there. The lobster was wrapped and sold at cheap price.

You can get cheaper and fresher lobster @ Sabah. We had many before.
