Curaçao is one of the 3 Dutch Caribbean islands located 40 miles north of Venezuelan coast.
Together with Aruba and Bonaire it forms the ABC islands as a colonial territory of the Kingdom of Netherlands. The country is just 40 miles long and 5 miles wide with Willemstad as the capital and the downtown too.It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
A good news for the travelers is that you dont need a Schengen Visa to visit and for Indian passport, a Valid US visa on the passport is enough to enter.
The country is very colorful with its iconic buildings and architecture resembling Netherlands in Caribbean setup.
One of the engineering marvels you will see in downtown is the Queen Emma Bridge.
It is a pontoon bridge built in 1888 serving as a customs entry and exit point for the ocean going ships.Its fun watching it work and the people in bridge stuck for atleast 30 minutes while it closes again for operation.It happens for every ship entering and leaving
Its pretty laid back there and its so refreshing walking around with the colorful buildings and loud caribbean music all over...
The best way to see the country is by taking a day trip and I took a whole day scuba and snorkel trip with a bunch of fellow divers in a scuba bus with the gears and refreshments loaded
The official outfit for the day was swim suit or shorts with t shirts on and off between dives and snorkelling...
The beaches are so beautiful with the blues and greens and can spend the whole day just watching it... Every street leads to a beach or a bay ...The weather was perfect and the ocean was warm...
We spent a lot of time in the water diving or snorkeling with the beautiful and colorful fishes big and small...And also on the shore relaxing during the break under the shade with the breeze drying us while refreshing.The water was so clear that we could see the floor of the ocean from the cliff
The light blue or green parts are the shallows and the dark blue the depths
It was so beautiful and enticing to jump off the cliff and take a dip...I did not know swimming so was just watching others jump !
Next day I took off to Klein Curaçao which means little Curacao.It was a 2.5hr journey in a small cruise ship experiencing every wave and was a bumpy ride with heavy rains...Once you reach you can just see a lighthouse and a couple of huts to serve food and nothing else...After docking you have the whole day to spend the way you want...It is a small island just 0.6 sq miles and I decided to walk around and climb up the lighthouse to have a panoramic view of the ocean and then to the other side to check out the ship wrecks...
I wish I could freeze the time and just stay here ...
I just loved the time alone and away from the worlds pace , noise , internet and especially phones...
Then I got into the water snorkeling with turtles and colorful fishes...
The turtles were so curious and they wanted to swim and play with me...
In the mainland Curaçao I tried underwater scooter ride to interact with the sea creatures like sea urchins and sea horses.
As other countries Curaçao also has the lock tradition and they call it love lock and shaped like a heart.
Once you break the walls thats been holding you captive ...your journey to explore the world can finally begin....

The best time to explore the downtown is the evening after the day trips to take a stroll through the decorated and colorful streets and all the way to the Curacao sign enjoying the breeze along the shore
The best way to retire for the day is to go to the pier ...sit and watch the lighted city and the bridge and later dining with some live music and dance ????
Very interesting activity of every trip is food and as usual I tried the local dishes and fishes to conclude my trip and this video as well

Instructor Adriaan & Divemaster Corné were hunting Lion Fish on Klein Curacao together with Tessa, Samantha & Anouk. During this hunt they passed the Shark cave. Beautiful nurse sharks is what the found.:)

Drone flight over Klein Curacao Dutch Antilles - TrafficCaptain Boat trip on Miss Ann Yacht
I was many times with the Miss Ann Yacht on Klein Curacao, next to the main Island of Curacao in the ABC islands of the Dutch Antilles.
The beautiful beach, super nice snorkeling and scuba diving with turtles and healthy coral reefs. The old Lighthouse remind me always the noth of Germany and the Netherlands.
I shot the video with a DJI mavic mini.
There was no electric polution so the highest point was 450 meters high.

Let me take you to Klein Curaçao...
Klein Curaçao is a 1.7-square-kilometer uninhabited island, lying 10 km southeast of Curaçao, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Dutch Caribbean.
I took the #BlueFinn Catamaran there, which took 2 hours. The crew was great, and it comes with an open bar and a fantastic lunch - best Catamaran tour boat lunch I have had :)
You will see the bluest water ever here and touch the softest sand on a pristine long continuous stretch of beach.
Located on this island is also the Klein Lighthouse, and if you want to walk further, you can find the Guidesmann Shipwreck.
Turtles are also supposed to be here frequently, but unfortunately, they did not stop by and say Hi to me.
Is this the best beach I have ever been to? If measured by softest sand, clearest water and overall beauty, YES!

Klein Curaçao is a 1.7 square kilometres uninhabited island south-east of Curaçao in the Caribbean Sea, and is part of the Dutch country of Curaçao. The only structures on the island are an old lighthouse, a beach house, and several huts. Klein Curaçao is well known as a beautiful diving-spot because of its coral and underwater caves. It's fairly easy to spot colorful fish and sea turtles when snorkeling.

Klein Curaçao is een klein onbewoond eiland voor de kust van Curaçao.
Het eiland is drie vierkante kilometer groot, gelegen op ongeveer tien kilometer afstand ten zuidoosten van Curaçao. Het is een kaal rotseilandje, dat als vogelbroedplaats fungeert. De wateren rond Klein Curaçao bieden goede duik- en snorkelmogelijkheden. Er zijn veel bedrijven die dagtochten naar Klein Curaçao organiseren. Klein Curaçao is niet altijd zo kaal geweest. Het was ooit met veel gras begroeid en werd onder andere gebruikt om paarden op te laten grazen. Uit die tijd stamt de vuurtoren van het eiland. Door fosfaatwinning werd het eiland afgegraven, waardoor het veel van zijn vegetatie verloor. Op het strand ligt een oud scheepswrak dat er jaren geleden gestrand is. Momenteel heeft het eiland geen permanente bewoners meer maar in het nabije verleden was dat wel het geval.

Met de Mermaid maken we een boottocht naar Klein Curacao. We genieten van het witte strand, de zon en snorkelen in het heldere water. Na een heerlijke barbecue maken we nog een wandeling naar de gestrande wrakken.

Klein Curacao is een klein, onbewoond, tropisch bounty eilandje met een parelwit strand, een azuurblauwe zee, een spectaculair rif en prachtige onderwaterwereld. Dit heerlijke eiland vind je ongeveer 25 kilometer voor de kust van Curacao en is ongeveer 2 vierkante kilometer in omtrek. Het strand van dit mooie eiland staat bekend als een van de mooiste stranden ter wereld. Alhoewel er op Klein Curacao geen bergen en bomen zijn is er genoeg te doen en te zien. Een excursie naar Klein Curacao doe je vooral om natuurlijk lekker te zwemmen, zonnen en chillen. Het is dan ook vooral ontspannend maar er zijn ook een aantal bezienswaardigheden zoals de iconische roze vuurtoren en de verschillende scheepswrakken.
Er zijn diverse aanbieders en boten die dagtrips aanbieden om naar Klein Curacao te varen. De meeste boten vertrekken rond 8:00 uur in de morgen en zijn rond 17:00 uur weer terug op Curacao. Het is gemiddeld zo'n 1.5 uur varen. Je kunt met Luxe jacht gaan, met verschillende catamarans of met een snelle Powerboat.

Spent a Day on a Deserted Island - Klein Curacao
Took a trip out to Klein Curaçao with Bounty Adventures. What a great way to spend the day - soaking up the sun on a deserted island in the Caribbean. There is an abandoned lighthouse on the small island as well as a shipwreck and plenty of other things to see and do. Thank you to the crew from the Jonalisa To for a wonderful day in paradise!
