Disney's Safari Ride - Kilimanjaro Safaris - Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
[4K] A full ride through of Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Set off in an open-air vehicle for a guided tour of an African savanna—and spot live animals roaming free. -
The safari tour is about 20 minutes long.

History in Pi Minutes is a series where I look at some popular topics in Disney or Theme Park History and cover them in a bite size format.
Today we are gonna look at the Animal Kingdom Safari and the how it has changed over the years!
It is the largest Disney attraction in the world! Bigger than the entire Magic Kingdom park. This allows for grand and expansive recreations of African landscapes for these Animal enclosures. Obviously, live animals aren’t as predictable as animatronic ones, so Disney uses clever tricks like hidden AC vents and feeding spots to encourage the animals to hang out where guests can see them. A LOT of effort has gone into crafting the safari’s environment both in terms of theming and in how they subtly care for the animals. But some say that the current version of the ride is missing something. Disney is known for their storytelling, and there isn’t really a story being told here anymore. The safari ride is now simply themed as a safari ride.
Before the park opened during cast member / passholder preview days, the story was way too dark! Poachers had broken into the reserve to attack and kidnap the new baby elephant, Little Red, and his mom, Big Red. The warden asks for our help to stop the poacher, but we were too late to save Big Red and saw the dead elephant on the side of the road! By the park's official opening day, Disney was already starting to lighten up the story by removing the death of Big Red. Although we were still chasing down Poachers to rescue Little Red in this original storyline.

Enjoy a complete ride experience vide on the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom in 4K UHD 60fps! I made sure to film just about every part of my experience for this, which includes waiting in line. The ride officially begins at 9:09 if you want to skip ahead. The animals were pretty active for this ride, so you will get a good look at many of them! The lions were not out though, because their area is currently being refurbished. The wait time for the attraction was 50 minutes when I entered, but I ended up only waiting about 30 minutes. This was filmed on August 2nd 2021 from around 1:30pm - 2:45pm
