Kathgola Palace is wrapped in full mysterious history. There are several things to visit inside the Palace boundary such as zoo, museum, rose garden, Pareshnath's Jain Temple, Fish pond, beautiful stone sculptures and much more. You will need a guide and 2/3hrs to visit the whole historical place. There is a mysterious tunnel which has been submerged under water. There is lot more which will give you goose-bumps. Kathgola often refers to the Kathgola Palace. Kathgola Gardens, also known as the Kathgola Temple, was built by Lakshmipat Singh Dugar. It is said that black roses were cultivated here but now only mango trees can be seen here. The gardens cover 30 acres.
Kathgola Palace is a four-storeyed palatial palace in the Kathgola Gardens. It has an ornamented facade with valuable paintings, mirrors and priceless furniture. Beside the palace is a small pond and a baoli. Here William Watts and Walsh met Mir Jafar, three days after the Battle of Plassey in 1757 and conferred concerning payment of the amounts stipulated by them before the battle was fought.

Kathgola Palace Location:
Kathgola Palace is a historical building belonging to the Dugar family at Kathgola in the Murshidabad-Jiaganj CD block of Murshidabad district. It now houses a museum.
A popular attraction on a customary tour of Murshidabad is the Kathgola Palace and Garden, built by Dhanpat Singh Dugar and Lakshmipat Singh Dugar in 1873. The Dugars hired a French architect to renovate a part of their palace. A Bengali architect was also involved. This palace is a perfect blend of art and architecture and connoisseurs of true art will get a taste of both. Victorian lions and Michael Angelo statues have changed the place. The Adinath temple is famous and there are several Jain and Hindu temples. There are 17 images of Jain tirthankaras. There was a zoo inside. The palace has been converted to a museum and showcases magnificent chandeliers, mirrors, furniture, etc.

কাঠগোলা বাগান-
কাঠগোলা বাগানবাড়ী তৈরি করেছিলেন চার ভাই মিলে লক্ষ্মীপৎ সিং, জনপৎ, মহীপৎ ও ধনপৎ, সেই সময় ১২০০ টাকার বিনিময়ে নবাবের থেকে ৩২ বিঘা বাগান কিনে এই বাড়ী তৈরি সুরু করেন। পরবর্তীতে এই বাড়ীর জমির পরিমাণ হয় ২৫০ বিঘা।
এই বাড়ীতে একটা সুরঙ্গ পথ ছিল যেটা জগত শেঠ এর বাড়ীর সাথে ও গঙ্গার সাথে যুক্ত ছিল।

Adinath Temple also known as Paresh Nath Temple or Kathgola Temple is situated in the Kathgola Gardens. It is a temple dedicated to Bhagawan Adishvar. Moolnayak of this temple is a 90 cm. white colored idol of Bhagawan Adishvar padmasana posture. The idol of Bhagwan Adinatha is very ancient and considered to be around 900 years old. There are 17 other images of Jain Tithankaras and other deities. This temple was built in 1933 by Lakshmipat Singh Dugar due to inspiration from his mother. The architecture of the temple is unique of its kind. A dadabari dedicated to jain saint Jinadutta Suriji Maharaj is present near the Adinath Temple. The dadabari contains a pair of Charans of Guru Jinadutta Suriji Maharaj, and was built at the same time as the main temple.

Kathgola Palace in Mursidabad is one of the best tourist spot for its historical places.
Leaving the Rajbari we went to the Katgola which was once a capital of Bengal. Katgola palace, Katgola garden and kathgola temple was built by lakshmipat Singh Dugar. Here you can see a underground pathway which was used for business at that time. Jagathseth who was the richest business and money lander of mursidabad made the kathgola for business. He always impresses King NawabSirajUdDulla By showing him cantatrices dance for his business’s help. Here you will see AdinathTemple(PareshNath Temple) which is dedicated to VagwanAdisvar situated in Adihnath Temple. Here you can see the ornamented wall of the kathgola palace, a demolished part of the palace, a statue of Michelangelo in the garden, Statue of another brother who built kathgola, the lion gate and a kathgolajain temple.

The last capital city of independent Bengal before British rule was named after Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, the Dewan of Bengal, Bihar and Odisha.Situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi, it is a city of splendour and is famous for its silk.It was made the capital of Bengal in 1717. The British shifted the capital to Kolkata in 1773. Plassey (Palashi), where the historic battle was fought in 1757 between Nawab Siraj-ud-Doula and Lord Clive of the East India Company, is only 40 km south of Murshidabad.
