Village Life in Kashmir near LOC | Kashmir never seen before | The Young Monk |
LOC is the line of control in Kashmir between India and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. There are some breathtaking and beautiful valleys on both sides of the border. Gurez valley of India and Neelum valley of Pakistan occupied Kashmir are the two most popular and beautiful valleys. Neelum river runs through both these valleys. There’s another valley close to the LOC, which is called Tulail valley in Kashmir. Tulail valley is 20 kms from Gurez valley. There are some very beautiful and peaceful villages in Tulail valley. Village life in Kashmir, especially near LOC border is quite peaceful. Village folks live a simple and humble life in these Kashmiri villages near POK border. The best time to visit Gurez and Tulail valley in Kashmir is July-September. Tulail valley is hardly 200 kms away from Srinagar. You can reach Gurez and Tulail by road which is in a good condition most of the way except some bad patches after Razdan Pass.

EP 1 Exploring Srinagar | Shikara ride in Dal lake | Wazwan | Nishat Garden | Kashmir Tourism
Srinagar is the largest city of Jammu & Kashmir, Most of the sightseeing locations around kashmir can be accessed from Srinagar. Many tourists travel to different destinations which are at 50 to 80 km distance and come back to Srinagar by night.

In this video, how we explore Srinagar, We started our day from delhi, boarded flight for srinagar, after reaching srinagar, we spent the half our day in srinagar.
This video was shot on 17th April 2023, below are the activities we did throughout the day.
Heemal Hotel - We stayed at Heemal hotel Rs 4000 plus taxes for double occupancy, this hotel is located close to Dal lake.
Shikara Ride in Dal Lake - We took shikara for Rs 770 for an hour.
Kong Posh - JKTDC - We had wazwan - multi course meal of kashmiri cuisine. This restaurant is run by JKTDC, in a House boat structure, near Jhelum river. Food at this restaurant was average, i realised this later when i explored food at other restaurants of Srinagar.
Nishat Garden - It is terraced mughal garden, which has about 12 terrace, very well maintained garden with fountains, flowers, scenic view of Dal lake.

Ep 4 Srinagar to Pahalgam | Saffron Fields | Pampore”s Sheermal | Awantipur Ruins | Kashmir Tourism
This was our 4th day in Kashmir. The video was shot on 20th April, we started from Srinagar to travel to Pahalgam.
The distance from Srinagar to Pahalgam is 90 km, tourists take halt at multiple locations, enroute to Pahalgam, we also did the same.
Pahalgam is a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, known for its scenic beauty and proximity to the picturesque Lidder Valley. The journey takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions.
Saffron Fields - As you drive through Pampore, you'll come across vast fields of saffron flowers. Pampore is renowned for its saffron production, and during the blooming season (usually in October), the fields create a stunning sight with vibrant colors.
Saffron at Pampore - we bought saffron fromJannat-e-Kashmir - This is one of the Dry fruit shops in Pampore, There are about 80 to 100 sellers there, who have their own farm.
During my tour I noticed that sellers of Pampore generally push you to buy 5 gm minimum saffron, Many buyers may want a lesser quantity.
Price at which I bought saffron from Pampore is Rs 250 per gm.
Sheermal in Pampore - During our visit, we wanted to see the making process of sheermal, which we saw in Pampore, one of the bakery shop named Hemalini sheermal house, we saw the process & also tasted to.
Awantipora Ruins - Situated in Awantipora, these ruins are remnants of ancient Hindu temples built during the 9th century. The site showcases impressive stone carvings and intricate architecture, offering insights into Kashmir's rich cultural heritage.
Dezire inn near Awantipora Ruins - In lunch we had Nadru Palak along with kashmiri Pulao.
Hallamulla - There are many factory & shop of Bat, we visited Good luck sports industries, they had wide variety of Tennis Ball bat to Professional bat made of Willow tree, which is found only in Kashmir. Price Range from Rs 300 to Rs 3500, many tourist stop by when they visit to pahalgam.
Hallamulla Sangam - There we saw the confluence of Vishav river & Jhelum river. This is about 50 km from Srinagar.
Evergreen Resort - We stop by to had tea, famous restaurant enroute to Pahalgam.
Dana Pani - This is a pure vegetarian restaurant in pahalgam, we had Kadai Paneer & Rajma for dinner.

Ep 5 Pahalgam -Gem of Kashmir | Betaab Valley | Chandanwadi | Aru valley, Things to do in Pahalgam
After exploring so many tourist destinations of Kashmir, we found Pahalgam sightseeing to be the best.
We went to Pahalgam, Kashmir at the right time bcoz we got a chance to see a mix of clear day, greenery and snowfall.
If you have missed the earlier episodes of kashmir, it would be better if you see them from EP - 1, so you will not miss out of continuity.

Travel by your own vehicle - Yes you can travel to any place in Kashmir like these places - Aru valley, Chandanwadi etc if you have your personal vehicle, but if its taxi then you need to change at Pahalgam.

Usually taxi stand vehicles are sent to travellers according to their numbers in the que.
Below are the activities we did throughout the day.
JKTDC Pahalgam Resort - We stayed in the JKTDC Bunglow in Pahalgam. They also provide huts to stay.
Tariff - Rs 4000 for double occupancy.

Betaab Valley - It falls on the way to the famed Amarnath temple yatra and is one of the three stunning valleys of Pahalgam. It is about 7 km away from Pahalgam.
It is also a favourite campsite of traveler's as it also serves as a base camp for trekking and further exploration of the mountains.
Best time to visit Betaab Valley is May, June and July.
Ticket: Rs 100
In between we met a landslide while traveling to Chandanwadi. There we changed our vehicle and continued our journey.
Chandanwadi - It is about 15 km away from Pahalgam and 8 km away from Betaab Valley. Chandanwadi is the commencement point of the annual Amarnath Yatra. Shri Amarnath Gufa is about 32 km away from Chandanwadi.
Shri Amarnath Yatra is also done via Sonamarg (Beltal) which is about 14 km to 16 km.
Aru Valley - It is about 12 km away from Pahalgam and 27 km away from Chandanwadi. We reached Aru village in the evening. It is famous for its scenic meadows and its peaceful environment and scenic beauty. It is also a haven for trekkers and hikers. You can trek to Green Top and Base Camp if you have only a day.
After this we headed back to srinagar and in between we had paratha and suji halwa near Sakhi Zain ud Din Wali Dargah.
Evergreen Resort - We stopped by to have tea, this is a popular veg food restaurant on route to Pahalgam,usually its very crowded during peak hours, there are not many choices on good veg food on this route.

6 Best Places To Visit In Meghalaya | Dawki |Whistling Village And More
Today I'm taking you to Meghalaya which means abode of clouds

India is a land full of rivers.
1.Dawki river is actually one of the cleanest in the world.
The water is green and crystal clear.
The river seperates India and Bangladesh.
It has a 90 year old suspension bridge where I’m standing :))
Don't you feel the boats appear to be floating on an invisible glass surface?
A boat ride is a must when you visit Dawki!
Meghalaya is full of beautiful waterfalls. And this one for sure caught all my attention.
2.Phi Phi falls is located in the west Jantia hills.Isn't it gorgeous? Which ia the most beautiful waterfall you've seen?
Next we go to:
3. The living root bridges! These are suspension bridges made by shaping the roots of trees. Created by the people of the Khasi tribe, these roots grow from the ancient rubber trees, seen only in the northeast region. These roots are trained by the Khasis to grow in such a manner as be in the form of bridges on the top of a river. The most popular tourist attraction of Cherrapunjee, these double decker living root bridges are 2 bridges that are stacked one on the other, made because of the entanglement of roots. Climbing down 3200 steps was worth it!
Next is:
4. The Wei Sawdong Waterfall.The route to the bottom of the waterfalls is mostly bamboo bridges, stairs, and mud. It is extremely dangerous so be sure to wear proper trekking shoes. When wet, the bamboo is slippery so a hiking stick may help. I was super scared but the view was breathtaking. I'm in love with all the waterfalls here.
Next I'm taking you to the most unique village ever.
5. Kongthing village also called as the whistling village here the residents have three names: a regular name, a distinct melody and a shorter tune that is akin to a nickname. Each villager here has a distinct tune as his/her name that came stright out of their mothers heart a she held them in her arms. What melody would you name your best friend as?

6. The Sacred forestWhat is a sacred or holy or blessed place for you??
The people of Meghalaya hold their forests as sacred and holy. You cannot take or leave behind anything in the forest. Leave only footprints and take back only memories they say. They worship their trees and forests. What if we, like them worshipped all of nature?? Wouldn't the world be a more beautiful place?!!!
