Hello beautiful people! Although I was in this amazing country for 3 weeks, but whatever we explored during this time can be easily covered in 10 days as well :)
Kazakhstan felt like a surprise gift to me! We went without any expectations to Almaty, the areas close by and were absolutely blown away by both modernization and its landscapes.

What Kazakhstan is REALLY Like | Almaty Travel Vlog
After heading out to see the barren deserts, sand dunes, Mosques and more - our travels through the Almaty region in Kazakhstan continues.
And like that a day later we leave flat lands to go and explore beautiful mountains and lakes covered in pine trees - this country is honestly so diverse.
First stop we headed out to Moon Canyon which is known as the Grand Canyon of Central Asia. After lunch at a locals house in Saty we started our journey out to see the lakes...but not using any car - an old Soviet style jeep.
We were blown away at the beauty of Kaindy Lake and its interesting story of having petrified dead trees in it's turquoise waters.
Our final stop for the day was Kolsai lakes to make camp for a couple of nights.

The ancient Silk Road was a trail and melting pot for different cultures, religion and trade centuries ago.
The Silk Road at first served for the export of Chinese silk to Europe. Later it was followed by myrrh and incense, jasmine water and amber, cardamom and nutmeg, ginseng and python bile, carpets and linens, dyes and mineral raw materials, diamonds and jasper, amber and corals, ivory and fish tusks, ingots of silver and gold, furs and coins, bows and arrows, swords and spears and many others.
Many do not know that Kazakhstan played an important role in the Silk Road. The main route of the Great Silk Road ran through the south of the country, from the Chinese border, trade caravans moved through the cities of Sayram, Yassy, Otyrar, Taraz further to Central Asia, Persia, the Caucasus and from there to Europe.
Cities as old as several thousand years in the South of Kazakhstan that once were major points of the Silk Road are still existing today.
