Jungfrau Switzerland via Interlaken and Grindelwald

Train trip to the Jungfrau Mountain at the Top of Europe, near Interlaken and Grindelwald, Switzerland. Europe's highest railroad line will bring you up to a spectacular world of perpetual winter, dominated by massive, snow-covered peaks reaching over 13,000 feet high and surrounding the continent's longest glacier. Many consider the train ride up one of the finest, most picturesque in the world, where getting to the top is half the fun. The journey from Interlaken to Grindlewald can be easily made on the Bernese Overland railway, and it travels on a scenic route through the valley and along the river and passes several villages. There are magnificent mountain views all along the way.
The hundred-year-old rail line from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch is one of Europe's great engineering wonders, the world's highest subway climbing through four miles of tunnels inside the rock. The beginning of this 50-minute journey is not underground, and momentarily offers a great view; so sit on the right side of the train. The train makes two brief stops enroute to let everyone out for a walk through short tunnels to viewing stations, where you look through windows at the nearby mountain peaks and the landscapes far below.
Upon arrival at the end of the rail line, you walk through an ice tunnel decorated with ice carvings and then approach a sight too amazing for description or film. You really have to pay your dues and go there in person to experience the exhilaration of standing at the top of the world, surrounded by Alpine giants of snow. The observation deck and snowfield are at 11,350 feet, flanked by the jagged peaks of the Jungfrau (13,642 ft.) and the Mönch (13,449 ft.), which form a valley that cradles the Aletsch Galcier, an endless field of snow that stretches 13 miles to the horizon.
Plan on spending an hour or two at the top, playing in the snow and exploring the various levels and exhibits of the visitor center, then catch a convenient train back down the route you came. You return to Kleine Scheidegg, where you can change trains for a different return route that will take you through Wengen and down to Lauterbrunnen.

EIGER EXPRESS, Grindelwald, Switzerland - Jungfraujoch Series | 5K UHD Video

#Switzerland #EigerExpressCableCar #EigerExpress #Grindelwald #Interlaken #Lauterbrunnen

In this video, we present a spectacular panoramic journey experience of newly launched Eiger Express Cable Car, Grindelwald, Switzerland. It was launched in Dec. 2020.

Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe station in the Swiss Alps is a highly popular day-trip excursion for travellers/tourists in Switzerland. The new Eiger Express cable car from Grindelwald Terminal shortens the journey to Jungfraujoch by around 47 minutes, although the final stretch to the top of the mountain remains by Jungfrau mountain train. The traditional trains-only route from Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen is still available and may be combined with a cable car ride.

The Eiger Express cable car operates between Grindelwald Terminal (937 m asl) and Eigergletscher station (2328 m asl), in the Swiss Alps near Interlaken. It uses tricable technology to transport up to 26 passengers per gondola. The cable car ride is 6,483 m long but remarkably needs only seven support pillars en route. As the system can transport up to 2,200 travelers per hour, this new faster route is likely to become the more popular way to reach the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe mountain station.

Interlaken to Grindelwald - Beautiful train journey in Switzerland | 4K 60fps HDR video

#switzerland #interlaken #grindelwald #4kvideo #4k60p #lauterbrunnen
In this Switzerland summer train journey video, we present the scenic route between Interlaken and Grindelwald villages of Switzerland in true 4K 60fps HDR resolution. Route shown between Interlaken and Zweilütschinen remains same for people traveling to Lauterbrunnen from Interlaken station. As a rule, two trains are coupled together until Zweilütschinen, where they are separated. One train travels onwards to Grindelwald, and the other to Lauterbrunnen. Enjoy the journey through soothing hilly green landscape. Cheers!

Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Murren, and Gimmelwald are one of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland, situated in the Bernese Overland region. The latter is immensely surrounded by the mountains and glaciers. To reach these villages as well as for going to Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe, one needs to board Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) from Interlaken Ost station (if one is not traveling by car or walking/hiking). BOB Railway is a narrow-gauge mountain railway that runs only in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. This Railway, with its blue-yellow trains, opens up the Lütschinen valleys and connects Interlaken, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen villages.

GRINDELWALD JUNGFRAUJOCH SWITZERLAND | Top of Europe Full Guide

???????? Switzerland video
Grindelwald Jungfraujoch Top of Europe Switzerland - What to do in Switzerland in Summer
Berner Oberland Bahn Train ride from Interlaken to Europe's highest train station

This travel video is part of a series of Switzerland vlogs in 4K Ultra HD (which also are my Switzerland travel diary) will hopefully provide some answers to these and more questions you may have: What do you go see in Switzerland and what to do in the Jungfrau Region? What is the Switzerland travel experience and what to do in Switzerland in summer? What are the best places to stay in Switzerland and what to see in the Swiss Alps? What are the best places to visit in Switzerland? Where do I go in Switzerland and and what can I see in Switzerland?

If you were wondering what to go see in Switzerland and what to do in the Swiss Alps, this video may give you an idea. A trip to the Jungfraujoch is certainly one of the highlights of any travel to Switzerland. Stick around to the end of this video for many tips on this amazing trip, including price and savings, when to go and what to bring with you.

The Jungfrau mountain is one of the most famous mountain peaks in Europe. With an elevation of 4,158 meters, or 13,642 feet above sea level, it thrones high above the beautiful Lauterbrunnen valley. The whole Jungfrau region in this part of the Swiss Alps gets is name from this majestic mountain in the Bernese Oberland Switzerland.

The Jungfraujoch is a glacier saddle that connects the Jungfrau and the Mönch, which is another world famous 4000er in the Bernese Oberland. It lies at an elevation of 3,463 meters (11,362 ft) and is directly overlooked by the Sphinx mountain.

The Jungfrau line is the railway that connects Interlaken via the Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch. It runs partially underground in a tunnel through the Eiger and Mönch mountains. The Jungfraujoch railway station, at an elevation of 3,454 meters (11,332 ft) is the highest in Europe. It is world famous and also known as the “Top of Europe”. About 1 million tourists travel to the Jungfraujoch every year, which makes it one of the most important and most visited travel destinations and tourist destinations in Switzerland.

The train into the mountain leaves from Kleine Scheidegg, which can be reached by trains from Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen with the Berner Oberland Bahn. The train enters the tunnel running eastward through the Eiger shortly after leaving Kleine Scheidegg.

The terminus of the Jungfrau Railway connects directly to the Sphinx observatory via a short tunnel and Switzerland’s fastest elevator and to the Top of Europe building, which includes several panoramic restaurants, shops, exhibitions, and a post office.

What else can you do at Jungfraujoch? When you are at one of the highest train stations in the world, you should also check out the Jungfrau Panorama platform, and take walk to the glacier plateau. Back inside the Top of Europe building, the Lindt Swiss chocolate experience shop awaits you. Here you can put together your own mix of delicious Swiss chocolates. If you are a chocolate fan like me, you don’t want to miss this one!

HOW TO TRAVEL TO THE JUNGFRAUJOCH | How to Visit Jungfraujoch | Switzerland Travel Guide

If you are following my swiss travel series, we left Gstaad and headed towards Interlaken. We rented a property from Airbnb, it's a two-story wooden chalet, ground floor she gave for rentals, and top floor she is living by own. I will take through how these chalets are decorated by swiss culture. Here they have a place to keep their bicycles, also they have fixed some decorative items around the chalet, lots plants and flowers, let go up and I will show the flag for Bernese Oberland, here most of the house put the flag of there region at the entry. Let's go inside, for an upper house there satire, were are in the ground floor..the first room is the hall where you can relax, watch TV and eat at the dining table, and then we got to the kitchen, mostly everything required is provided by the owner, our breakfast is ready I believe, Pancakes..then this is the first bedroom and this one is 2nd bedroom and the bathroom. After heavy breakfast, we started walking towards Interlaken ost Train station which is about 700 meters from the chalet. We bought our tickets and started our journey to Jungfrau which is the top of Europe. Jungfraujoch is the location of the highest train station in Europe. Now we are heading towards Lauterbrunnen and from there we change train to Jungfrau. There is no direct connection from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch..Interlaken-Lauterbrunnen-Wengen-Kleine Scheidegg-Jungfraujoch. the whole train journey is about 2 hours to reach Jungfrau. If you choose to travel via Lauterbrunnen as we did, you can best sit on the right side of the train when departing from Interlaken. You'll have a slightly better view that way. We bought a travel pass from Interlaken train station. We reached Lauterbrunnen, from here we need to change train towards Wengen. After changing trains in Lauterbrunnen, we'll travel up to the scenic mountain village of Wengen and then onto Kleine Scheidegg. Again, the best views from the train are on the right: you'll look down on the stunning Lauterbrunnen valley with its Staubbach Fall and up to the Jungfrau and other snow-capped mountain tops, we reached Kleine Scheidegg, it is a Meeting point of two rack railways and the Starting point for the Jungfrau. The Kleine Scheidegg is the mountain pass that runs between the Eiger and the Lauberhorn. It is an altitude of 2061 m above sea level, Kleine Scheidegg is known for its stunning views of the Three Peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau as well as its mighty glaciers. from here we will take a cogwheel mountain train to Jungfrau and this is our last part of the journey. Switzerland is rated as the most expensive country in the world, the normal meal will cost you 25-30 CHF. People have to think twice to come to visit this country. I will show as an example how expensive this country is, a bottle of water that cost me 5.50 CHF, which is a lot. The Jungfrau train Travel Pass is also very expensive.. because the maintenance is extremely costly; it is the highest train station in Europe. Maintaining and securing the railway and the buildings is expensive and is getting even more expensive due to climate change. It took sixteen years to complete the railway, officially opening in 1912. Jungfraujoch was given the name Top of Europe, now that it was an alpine tourist destination easily accessible by train.

It takes 35 minutes to travel from Kleine Schecidegg to Jungfraujoch. Most of the ride is in a dark tunnel. It also gets chilly on the train, even in the summer as you gain elevation. Just before arriving in Jungfraujoch, the train stops for a five-minute break and your first view of the snowy Alps. You can get off the train and walk to a viewing area of the Aletsch Glacier. The view is just Ok and you will get a better view of the glacier once at Jungfraujoch. The Jungfraujoch train station is located inside the tunnel, from here it's just a short walk to the main building. Don't watch if you like beautiful scenery and cute cows! You'll fall in love.

Jungfrau Switzerland is a dreamy land filled with the most beautiful swiss alps, relaxing chalets, idilic dairy cows, and mountain side adventure. More famously known for the town of Interlaken Switzerland, Jungfrau is composed of Grindelwald, Wegen, Murren, Lauterbrunnen, and Unterseen. Named after the famous Jungfrau Mountain, it also has other notorious mountains like the Eiger and the Monch (pronounced like moonk)

Our time in Jungfrau was filled with beautiful hikes, swiss sausages, stunning mountains, trains (jungfrau railway), and not to mention some of the craziest activities on First Mountain. While dropping down First mountain, we threw ourselves down the mountain via the First Flyer (zipline), Mountain kart (adult Tricycle), and the trotti bike (mountain scooter).

Thanks for watching! You guys rock :)

Switzerland's Jungfrau Region: Best of the Alps

Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2002 | If Heidi is alive, she's in this sky-high corner of the Swiss Alps, with cowbells ringing on breathtaking ridges. After settling into a traditional village where locals scythe hay by hand, we hike, bike, blast an alphorn, get sprayed by waterfalls raging deep inside a mountain, and munch muesli for breakfast at 10,000 feet. For a finale, we ride Europe's highest railway up the mighty Jungfrau for hot cocoa, glacier sledding, and oh-wow views. #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #swissalps

4K Driver's View - Kleine Scheidegg to Grindelwald Switzerland | Jungfrau Railway | 4K HDR 60fps

What happens when cows come in front of Swiss trains..? One can see it in this video.
In this 4K 60fps HDR video, driver's view of the train journey to Grindelwald village from Kleine Scheidegg [asl 2,061 m or 6,762 ft], passing through beautiful chalets and landscapes of Grindelwald, is presented. This video offers stunning natural surroundings of Swiss Alps assimilated with the sound of cowbells, fresh mountain breeze, and majestical views from the driver's seat. Enjoy :)

The Kleine Scheidegg is located directly at the foot of Eiger North Face. It is the watershed between the two Lütschinen valleys. It is a popular starting point for the Jungfrau train to the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe station, the highest train station of Europe. This hiking paradise can be reached from Grindelwald, Wengen and Lauterbrunnen villages via Wengernalp railway trains or via hiking from these villages. It offers a walking area surrounded by timeless beauty at the foot of the mighty Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, trio mountains located in the Jungfrau region of Swiss Alps. Along high-altitude footpaths, one can walk/hike to Mannlichen (90 minutes; Easy hike) or to Eigergletscher.
