Shaped like a figure-8, it's divided into Tahiti Nui (the larger, western section) and Tahiti Iti (the eastern peninsula). Polynesia has been a place on our bucket list for a long time. We visited 3 islands, in a simple and more budget friendly way. We would like to show you the best things to see based on our experience.
Our first destination was Tahiti, where people often stay only for a transit, but we feel it’s a mistake. The island has a lot to offer, and we didn’t even manage to discover half of it. Amazing hikes, surfing in the Pacific Ocean, remote jungles and the only city, Papeete, on the Polynesian islands. We show the best things to see and do on Tahiti, French Polynesia. Our favourite was the Teahupoo waves, that will host the Olympics in 2024 for surfing! Hopefully with the biggest Teahupoo waves to surf ever!
