The Home Stretch | Fit with Four Seasons

The padded, adjustable bench you see in virtually every gym is often used for chest presses, but did you know it’s also a valuable piece of equipment for cool-downs? “One of my favourite stretching routines is actually done on an adjustable bench,” says celebrity trainer and Four Seasons Global Fitness Advisor Harley Pasternak. In this how-to video, Harley shares a simple yet effective series of stretches you can perform after any workout to release the tension in your hamstrings, glutes, hips, adductors and hip flexors. Starting on one side, hold each pose for 20 to 30 seconds (try not to bounce!), then repeat on the other side. “You can go through this whole routine once, even twice, especially after you get off a flight,” says Harley.

Hotel Fitness Favourites: Dual Cable Pulley | Fit with Four Seasons

“The entire body can be trained using these,” says celebrity trainer and Four Seasons Global Fitness Advisor Harley Pasternak. “And that's why it's my absolute favourite piece of strength equipment in the gym.” What makes the dual cable pulley so special? It’s versatility. Comprised of two cables and two separate weight stacks, you can train using both of the cables at the same time, one at a time, or even take off the D-grips and use a variety of handles and attachments to target different parts of your body. In this video, Harley will go over different techniques for using the dual cable pulley, as well as show you how to do a few simple exercises using the machine.

What is it like living on a boat? What about the day to day tasks and chores like shopping, boat maintenance, filling with water and diesel.

With Liz now back on board we prepare SV Esper for our journey south through the Malacca Strait and attempt to fix the VHF, install a new Racor fuel filter, do some shopping and tell you all about doing the laundry on a boat. Sadly, it is not all blue water sailing, this is real liveaboard living, it is the day to day reality of living on a boat.
