In Kyoto, Japan, there is a bunch of different street foods to try. It's quite a small town but there is a lot to eat, and much much more than regular Japanese sushi and sashimi!

First, we are going to the Nishiki market, where we try some delicious seafood like Giant Mussels, amazing Tuna and Salmon sashimi, tasty raw uni sea urchin and oysters, takoyaki octopus and also some okonomiyaki Japanese pancakes. You could spend a lifetime trying all the different snacks and ramen restaurants around this street food market. We wanted to try a little more Japanese cuisine outside of the market, so we kept Foodrangin' for more and found the most delicious fried tempura of your dreams. It was perfectly crispy and yet succulent and soft too. The shrimp was springy and fresh, and the eel was so flavourful!

After the delicious Japanese tempura, we went for some delicious Sushi. It was one of those famous conveyor belt sushi restaurants, and to be honest, it was not the most amazing sushi in Japan, but it was still a fun experience. We tried salmon nigiri, raw tuna nigiri, uni sea urchin, otoro fatty tuna belly, and more, like raw squid nigiri and a few other cuts of fish as well.

To finish off the day, we went for an amazing bowl of Japanese ramen. It was shoyu ramen made from pork bones and a rich soy sauce. There was nice and fatty slices of pork and tons of delicious and springy noodles along with fried gyoza Japanese dumplings as well!

It was some of the BEST Japanese street food in Japan! Everything we tried was delicious!

Here are the addresses for all of these amazing Japanese street foods:

1) Giant Mussels, Seafood, Takoyaki, and Okonomiyaki - Nishiki Market

2) Incredibly soft and flavourful Japanese Tempura -Tendon Makino Kyoto Teramachi

3) Conveyor belt sushi and sashimi with tons of different cuts of Japanese seafood - Sushi No Musashi

4) Amazing Japanese Shoyu Ramen - Kyoto Takabashi Honke Daiichi Asahi

Japanese Street Food - GIANT OYSTER and Seafood Tour of Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, Japan!

Tsukiji Market in Tokyo is one of the best places for Japanese street food!

Sadly, there was a recent fire in the outer Tsukiji Market at a legendary ramen shop. Luckily no one has been reported injured from the fire, but it is very sad to see some legendary Japanese street food stalls completely destroyed.

Ok, now back to the information from this Japanese street food tour of Tsukiji Market in Tokyo!

If you’re a food lover, there’s now way you’re going to visit Tokyo without a trip to Tsukiji Market. The inner part of the market is where you’ll find all the fresh seafood - the fish market part of the market. The outer part of the market is where you’ll find all sorts of Japanese street food snacks, some of which are seafood, others are not, and where you’ll find restaurants and all sorts of market stalls.

Here’s the list of everything I ate and where during this Japanese food tour in Tokyo (also, everything is on this map:

Kitsuneya - legendary organ stew
Address: 4 Chome-9-12 Tsukiji, Chuo, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan
Organ stew - 850 JPY ($7.70) per bowl

Sea urchin (uni) - 500 JPY ($4.53)

Nishin Tasuke
Eel skewer - 200 JPY ($1.81) per skewer

Ajino Hamato
Corn fishcake - 300 JPY ($2.71)

Tsukiji Saito Fisheries
Giant oyster - 1,400 JPY ($12.68)

Home-style Sushi - 本種
Large plate sushi - 1,500 JPY ($13.59)
Chirashi don - 900 JPY ($8.15)

Matcha ice cream - 400 JPY ($3.62)

Tamago (sweet egg omelet) - 100 JPY ($0.91)

Blowtorched scallop - 1,000 JPY ($9.05)

Tenfusa Tempura - amazing small restaurant for tempura
Address: 5 Chome-2-1 Tsukiji, Chuo, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan
Total price - 2,500 JPY ($22.64)

This tour includes 10 different Japanese street foods. Probably my favorite thing of the entire day was the giant oysters, the amazing home style sushi, and the blowtorched seafood scallop. But really Tsukiji Market is a Japanese food paradise and a seafood lover's dream come true.

When you visit Tokyo, I hope you have an amazing time eating at Tsukiji Market!

KYOTO NISHIKI MARKET FOOD TOUR | 11 BEST FOODS of KYOTO

Today I’m exploring Japan Kyoto street food at I’m at Kyoto’s 400 year old traditional market- Nishiki Market. I’m taking a comprehensive look inside the 11 top traditional foods of Nishiki Market. As the Kitchen of Kyoto, what impressed me was that Nishiki Market is an authentic market- it caters not only to tourists, but to local customers and Kyoto chefs, as well. Rather than selling hype foods like Kuromon Market in Osaka, foods and flavors sold here are also for local kitchens. One thing Kyoto has been good at is preserving their traditional culture. While you may not see many shocking things here you will get an insight into some of the culinary tastes. What would you add to this Nishiki Market Guide?

We're starting out with our first Japanese street food by trying a nice Uni Ikura Don also known as sea urchin and salmon roe bowl. This is the perfect street food to try in Japan in the morning for breakfast! You can also eat amazing fresh sashimi in this sushi restaurant, but I preferred the bowl of salmon roe and sea urchin.

After this, we found the most INSANE Sashimi stall, serving up fresh tuna sashimi by the cube, sliced right in front of you! It doesn't get any better than this! It is served to you with a little soy and wasabi, absolutely perfect!

After the amazing tuna sashimi, we went deeper into the Tsukiji market to find some other Japanese street food, and found a stall selling more raw Japanese seafood, and decided to try the raw scallops. They were super tasty!

After this we found a stall selling a dish known as Kuromon don, a rich beef offal stew over top of rice and topped with green onions. It was very delicious and super fun to enjoy right on the street! You just pull up a chair and sit down on the counter and watch them scoop up this delicious Japanese street food right before your eyes!

After this, we went for a famous bowl of ramen noodles in Japan, at Ichiran ramen. It is a Tonkatsu style broth, so quite creamy and rich, and the best part is how you can customize it exactly how you want it, with different levels of spiciness and richness, all from a machine!

After this amazing ramen, we went for a once in a lifetime Sushi experience at Nishi-azabu Kamikura. It wasn't cheap, but it was an amazing experience that you will always remember. The master chef cuts each piece of raw fish for you and creates Sushi for you individually and serves it to you by hand. It's unforgettable and you can taste new flavours and textures with each piece.

Here are the addresses for the restaurants we ate at in this Japanese street food video:

1) Sea Urchin and Salmon Roe Bowl:

Address: 4-10-14 Tsukiji, Chuo 104-0045, Tokyo

6) Once in a lifetime Sushi and Sashimi experience:

Even after eating all of these amazing street foods in Tokyo, there is so many more things to eat! You will definitely have to travel here to try them all!

Kyoto Nishiki market Japan ????????

Nishiki Market (錦市場, Nishiki Ichiba) is a narrow, five-block long shopping street lined by more than one hundred shops and restaurants. Known as Kyoto's Kitchen, this lively retail market specializes in all things food-related, like fresh seafood, produce, knives and cookware, and is a great place to find seasonal foods and Kyoto specialties, such as Japanese sweets, pickles, dried seafood, and sushi.

Nishiki Market has a pleasant but busy atmosphere that is inviting to those who want to explore the variety of culinary delights that Kyoto is famous for. The stores found throughout the market range in size from small narrow stalls to larger two-story shops.
