Mormon Row + Exploring Jackson Hole
After spending a few days working in the Jackson Hole area, we finally explored a bit! We visited one of the most famous photo spots in the area, Mormon Row, grabbed coffee and brunch at an awesome coffee shop, walked around town, and ate pizza. There's still so much we wished we could've explored in the area, but we loved the glimpse that we got!

Exploring Jackson Hole Wyoming. Hello Everyone and welcome back to another adventure. This time we are in Jackson Hole Wyoming. We stayed at the Snake River Lodge located within Teton Village for 3 nights while we explored Grand Teton National Park. Come along as we take you on a tour of Jackson Hole as well as the awesome town of Jackson, Wyoming. This has to be one of the nicest cities we have ever visited. The lodging was fantastic, the food was delicious, and their local craft beers were on par with what we have here in the NW.
Jackson is a town in Wyoming's Jackson Hole valley, home to 3 ski areas: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King Mountain Resort and Grand Targhee Resort. The Town Square features arches made of shed antlers from the nearby National Elk Refuge. The National Museum of Wildlife Art has works by Andy Warhol and Georgia O'Keeffe. North are the peaks of Grand Teton National Park, as well as vast Yellowstone National Park.

Jackson Hole is where pioneers sought new adventures.
With so many activities outside our door - like convenient day trips into Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks - today's traveler can explore on skis, mountain bikes, rafts, horse-drawn stagecoaches, and much more!
George Washington Memorial Park, commonly known as the Jackson Town Square, is the cultural, civic, and mercantile heart of the Town of Jackson. Dedicated as a park in 1934, the four main entrances at each of its corners are notably adorned with large arches made from elk antler sheds collected from the nearby National Elk Refuge. The first antler arch was built in 1953, and each arch is torn down and rebuilt periodically. The center of the park contains a stone memorial to famous mountain man explorer John Colter.
The park was named in order to memorialize George Washington for the 200th anniversary of his birth. The state of Wyoming, in cooperation with Congress, planned to honor the country's first president by establishing a George Washington Memorial Park in as many communities as possible.
Attractions
The Town Square is surrounded by local businesses of all kinds including restaurants, art galleries, and retail shops. During the summer months, people often enjoy a horse carriage ride around the park as well as the nightly Town Square Shootout performed by the Jackson Hole Playhouse at 6 p.m. (except Sundays).
Town Square Antler Arch Art Opens in new window
The Jackson Hole Historical Society & Museum guides a free walking tour of Jackson in the summer months beginning on the Town Square. Tuesday through Thursday at 10:30 a.m. you can join them as they point out many of the historic buildings surrounding the Town Square and discuss the wild characters and events of Jackson's past. In the Winter months, the Town Square is home to an ice skating rink, and Santa Claus makes his annual visit on the day after Thanksgiving at which time the trees and the arches are all lit up for the season. During all times of year the Town Square is a vibrant place of activity, hosting numerous fun and lively events of all varieties. Check the event calendar regularly to keep up to date on what's happening around town.

Last weekend we went down to Wyoming to find a bunch of things to do in Jackson Hole. There are lots of things to do in Wyoming and lots of Wyoming attractions but the little town of Jackson is a highlight.
There are a lot of options for lodging in Jackson. Out of all the hotels and motels, we stayed at the Wort Hotel in downtown Jackson, home to the Silver Dollar bar and the Cowboy Bar.

Jackson is a town in the Jackson Hole valley of Teton County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 9,577 at the 2010 census, up from 8,647 in 2000. It is the county seat of Teton County and is its largest town.

Opening Day - Flat Creek, Jackson Hole
Flat Creek is a legendary cutthroat trout stream two miles north of Jackson, lying in the National Elk Refuge. August 1st marks the opening of the National Elk Refuge section of Flat Creek. This section of Flat Creek has big fish, easy access, and really technical fishing similar to a spring creek due to gin clear water, zero bank cover and slow water speeds. Flat Creek holds trophy native Snake River Fine-Spotted cutthroats that are selective eaters and consistently spooky. A true “A-Game” and stalking environment, Flat Creek is a perfect fishery for those looking for a spring creek like experience in the Jackson Hole area.

We travel in our Winnebago Revel Mercedes Sprinter and Caravan with another travel couple in their converted Mercedes Sprinter Van. Watch as we explore the 42 Mile Loop, Bike Path, Jenny Lake, Cascade Canyon, Mormon Row & Wildlife, Oxbow Bend, Jackson Lake, and the cool town of Jackson. Before we ride up to Yellowstone National Park, come hang out while we explore the town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, riding some great roads, and catching some popular tourist attractions in the area. We started off with breakfast and a morning ride, then headed off to Teton Village to take the Gondola up the mountain for some killer views before heading back into town to check out some shops, restaurants, and bars. About Jackson Hole:
Jackson Hole (originally called Jackson's Hole by mountain men) is a valley between the Gros Ventre and Teton mountain ranges in the U.S. state of Wyoming, near the border with Idaho. The term hole was used by early trappers, or mountain men, as a term for a large mountain valley. These low-lying valleys, surrounded by mountains and containing rivers and streams, are good habitat for beavers and other fur-bearing animals. Jackson Hole is 55 miles long (89 km) long by 6-to-13 miles wide (10 to 21 km) and is a graben valley with an average elevation of 6,800 ft (2,100 m), its lowest point being near the southern park boundary at 6,350 ft (1,940 m).
The city of Jackson was named in late 1893 by Margaret Simpson, who, at the time, was receiving mail at her home as there was no post office. She named the area in order for easterners to be able to forward mail west. Jackson, which became incorporated in 1914, was named after David Edward Davy Jackson, who trapped beaver in the area in the late 1820s with a partner in the firm of Smith, Jackson & Sublette.[1] Jackson, of Irish and Scottish descent, was one of the first European-Americans to spend an entire winter in the valley.[2]
High altitude and steep mountain slopes on all sides of the valley often cause calm winter nights to be very cold, as radiational cooling from snow-covered ground creates cold air near the surface, which then slides down into the valley due to the higher density of the air. In 1993, this effect during an already severe cold snap plunged the morning low temperature down to −56 °F (−49 °C) in the valley, officially recorded by the National Weather Service. The state record low temperature was also recorded in the valley at Moran at −66 °F (−54 °C) in 1933. Summers are warm to mild, due to the surrounding mountains.

We manage to fit the Jackson Hole, Wyoming experience in one day thanks to some fun college friends of ours! Andy and Andrea hooked us up with aerial tram ride tickets at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. We also get to see the iconic antler arches and float the Snake River and paddle where the Hoback River joins in (Hoback Junciton). We finish the day off soaking our feet in a hot spring and then eat bison burgers for dinner! THANK YOU ANDY AND ANDREA FOR THE FULL EXPERIENCE!
