Helicopter over Mumbai - Bandra, Sealink, Worli, JNPT
Recently, I was lucky enough to take a chopper between Mumbai and Shillim (a resort village near Lonavala) and thanks to Mumbai airport's main runway 9-27 not being operational, we could fly over Juhu Beach, Bandstand, Sea Link, Worli, Parel, Phoenix Mills, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai Docks, JNPT and more, all of which are captured on this video. I shot this on an iPhone SE2 because I was silly and didn't attach my GoPro to the window.

Fancy a helicopter ride? Welcome the “uber of helicopters” aka BLADE helicopters. Given the peak office hours, I was glad to not be stuck in the city traffic. This ride took us from Mumbai to Shirdi in just 50 minutes, which would otherwise easily take us 5-6 hours. And what’s more, is we got a bird’s eye view of the beaches and the city’s landscape. Of course, my mother was super excited!!

Helicopter Ride from Shillim to Juhu. Pawna Lake, Pune Eway, Navi Mumbai Airport, Mumbai Central
This was shot on my iPhone on March 15, 2022 and I've tried to caption the landmarks wherever I know them. The helicopter was arranged by the good people of @lexusindia6838 and operated on a Bell Jetranger 206 registered VT-RBG and operated by Blade India. Our captain was M.K Choudhary.
We took off from the Shillim Helipad, flew over Pawna Lake and the various Hill forts built by the Marathas and the Mughals in the medieval period. Then we passed to the south of Lonaval, and pretty much flew next to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway the rest of the way. The cars speeding down the Expressway looking like small dinky cars.
As we approached Panvel, we tracked to the south and flew over the eastern edge of a giant construction project, and I immediately realised that this was the site of the new Navi Mumbai airport being built by @AdaniOnline Clearly soil compacting and levelling work was going on as well as foundation work for the aprons and the runways. Then. as we started ourf approach to Mumbai, we flew over the work going on for the long-delayed Trans Harbour Link. Most piers looked ready and the road surface was being laid in many places. Then we also caught a glimpse of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) before flying next to the HPCL Refinery in Trombay.
We then flew over Mumbaiu Central before turning right over Worli and Mahim Bay before crossing above Bandra and Khar coming in to Juhu Airfield from the south. Interesting this was because the primary runway 9-27 at Mumbai was closed for resurfacing work. Thus I also caught sight of the @CSMIAOfficial runway 9-27 and Terminal 1. We flew over the Maharashtra Government base and ONGC base before landing the centrepoint of runway 8-26.
